Autarky Dog Food Reviews 

Recently tried the new grain free senior for my 15 year old dog who has a sensitive tummy. She loved it and her poops have been really good.

Sadly to tell. My dog was pass away Yesterday because he ate this dog food. It lead him getting flatulence and his stomach become Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus. My dog become this situation within 2-3 hours and end up he pass away just within 7 hours after he eat you food! I need someone in your company direct talk to me explain and compensation my lost!

Went fro chicken to salmon been up 5 nights with diarrhea , This product is making our pets ill

My puppy who is now 11 month has had two bags of Autarky first one was fine he ate it no problem however this second bag I’m struggling to get him to eat it also he’s had upset tummies and the smell from his flatulent is foul his tummy is like a wind instrument! Iv just read another review from another customer virtually the same thing

I’ve been a loyal customer of Autarky dog food for years, but recently, I’ve noticed some concerning changes that have left me thoroughly disappointed.

Firstly, there’s a noticeable difference in the smell of the food, and it’s not a pleasant one. It’s concerning when something you’ve trusted suddenly has an off-putting odor.

Secondly, it appears that the biscuit size has been reduced, which is problematic for larger dogs or those who eat quickly.

Most importantly, my dogs, who have always enjoyed Autarky, have had adverse reactions to the new formula. My eldest dog outright refused it, and the others experienced upset stomachs, which I initially attributed to a bug but now suspect is due to the altered composition of the food.

It’s disheartening to see a product I’ve relied on for so long deteriorate in quality. After reading similar experiences from other customers, I’m inclined to believe that this is not an isolated issue.

In conclusion, the recent changes to Autarky dog food have left me with no choice but to seek alternative options for my pets. It’s a shame to see a once-reliable brand deliver such disappointing results!!

I decided to try the Salmon senior lite - my dog is 14 years old and the Chappie she had been consuming, was becoming more and more expensive. I use Zooplus for my dog food and they have never promoted or sold, in my opinion foods with a bad reputation. This is absolutely awful! I introduced slowly over a week, mixing with her current food and all was fine. As the kibble then became the main diet, the problems began. She had projectile diarrhoea - having accidents overnight. She was groaning all the time and becoming weaker. I have made an appointment to take her to the vets. This is downright disgusting - that a company can produce a dog food that is clearly not fit for purpose. If I’d been an isolated case, I would have put it down to my dogs digestion ( she doesn’t have any issues) but reading the reviews, I am not alone!

Jeanette, who works in their customer service team, is terrible at her job. Excuse after excuse.

They have definitely changed their food… I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. It’s a con!

Buy for my dog white fish&potatoe hypoallergenic dog food and my dog love it.

Having read these reviews it now makes sense. I have used Autarky Salmon food for many years and never had a problem. However the new Salmon with herbs i recently purchased has caused my dog to have severe diarrhea. At first I thought it was a bug but it has now continued for over a week and started when we had the new food, nothing else wrong with him i took him to the vet at an expense to find out nothing wrong with him and could be down to the food. I am most disappointed with this and feel this is not just a coincidence.

My cockerpoo was eating the white fish recipe food and enjoyed it. In April 2023 we bought another 2 large bags of what we thought was the same product. He started losing weight and then refused to eat it. He became poorly and has just had to have an operation for bladder stones with the results coming back as a food related problem and recommend we change his food. We had already stopped using the food but after reading the reviews we are now thinking it had something to do with this change is the recipe of this food

We recently bought a bag of the Chicken Complete from Costco. We introduced it very gradually but very quickly our nine year old dog developed extremely loose,mucoid stools and extreme flatulence and became ill. At one point, he seemed to have a small seizure so we stopped feeding it to him.

Ive fed Aurtarky for at least 8 yrs with no problem. I bought a white fish bag instead of adult salmon a couple of months and BIG mistake! All 3 of my dogs had instant galloping diarrhoea. One refused to eat the food at all. From reading reviews, I can see im not alone one. There are loads of unhappy customers! I was told the company had changed suppliers, and as a gesture, they offered a bag of Turkey kibble. That came about 3 weeks later and was chicken....my dog is allergic to chicken. I contacted them and I had a bag of turkey delivered yesterday. Big thank you Joe F for the to-ing and fro-ing and getting it sorted. I have to say I'm apprehensive, but will try it. So far the adult salmon isn't causing trouble, but the moment it does, ill be switching brands.

We feed our lab Autarky Mature Chicken Lite and he absolutely loves it!
Since switching to Autarky about 18 months ago, his coat is noticeably softer, he hasn't had any upset tummies or bouts of the runs and he's full of beans. We've tried several premium brands over the years and this is by far the best. Can't recommend Autarky highly enough!

I moved our spaniel from Royal Canin to Autarky in 2021 and cannot believe the difference in her. She still gets excited for her food, will even take a bit of kibble as a treat. She has a gorgeous shiny coat and is at her peak health. It’s the best food we’ve ever had. I feed the Grain Free Turkey, aware there has been a packaging change bust she loves it just the same. Dogs used to love this... Now the petshop has sent me 2x 12kg bags and my dogs won't even sniff it... Terrible and I Will get my refund.

Stay clear

We’ve used Autarky for several years and the dogs loved it. We were aware of the change of recipe to the White fish but initially they continued eating it but their poos became looser and looser until it was mostly liquid. Our 5 year old lost 4 kgs (from 31.5 to 27.5) and became listless and stopped eating it. We have taken him to the vets and after numerous tests and an ultrasound scan. - the only thing they could determine was low potassium. He’s now on potassium tablets and we’ve changed food - now he’s regained all the weight, his potassium is up and their poos are back to normal.
This recipe change is making dogs ill.
Our friends had similar
experience and have changed foods too.

Be warned - I have previously fed Autarky grain free White Fish for some time to our 10 working gundogs with no problem. Suddenly with a new batch their condition has gone down rapidly, and they are having enormous poos. On complaining to the manufacturer, they tell me they have changed the recipe and the factory has changed hands - they have gone to different suppliers, and added certain ingredients. No warning except for a small new logo on the bag. My dogs are in a state - waking up at night wanting to go out, and poo-ing for England! Autarky customer service have refused to pick up and refund my 10 surplus bags that I definitely will never feed. They suggest that I drive 40 mins each way to my supplier to get compensation .

They have failed in their duty of comprehensively informing customers of a sudden change.

I am warning everyone of the problems, and to beware of extremely poor customer service.

I bought 2 x 12kg sacks of this white fish and potato and my dogs haven't touched it, I thought they were off their food because of the weather but after switching to Harringtons theyre wolfing it down...I've put a complaint into where I bought it from demanding a full refund if one isn't given then court action will follow as my dogs are now very skinny looking 😡😡😡 I'll be getting them to the vets tomorrow and having a full check up done and examination report made up as this is disgusting no wonder the food was on offer, so they must have known about this 😡😡😡

My dog has been eating this food for a long time, salmon mature lite. All of a sudden he has stopped & won’t go near it. It’s a new full bag I’ve just opened. I started researching if they’d changed the recipe as this is the only option (he eats other food fine) but see all the other reviews. Clearly a once fantastic dog food has now literally gone to the dogs. Save your money & time with this make!
