We attended Autism Mosque a few years ago in Harrow Central Mosque (01/04/2023) but the experience was so impactful that my children ask to this day when we can attend again! It was the first time I had brought my children (2 of which are autistic, 2 neurotypical) to the mosque other than for Eid salah which is usually hurried and extremely busy for them. The Autism Mosque was the first time they felt comfortable, welcomed and had so much fun with the activities provided that they now want to go to masjid more often. A truly wonderful experience and much needed. It was so lovely to see and connect with other neurodiverse muslim families. I pray the initiative gains in traction and has is so much success that all mosques make small adaptations to make masjids and Islamic community spaces more accessible for neurodiverse families. Thank you to the amazing facilitators and especially Sara who was there to welcome us, and for the fab gifts given to the kids at the end.

Worked as a volunteer and can say everything was organised to a very high level and very friendly with the other volunteers. The organisers were very welcoming, friendly, understanding and many more, shout out to Sarah and Nadeem!!

Was such a great event with many activities which the children and even adults enjoyed!. It brang the community together through fun activities such as dress up, arts & crafts, football and more!

The Autism Mosque event that Sarah planned on April the 1st was an outstanding achievement that provided a welcoming and accessible atmosphere for children with special needs to visit the mosque. The event included a number of rooms for various activities and requirements for children with autism. The organisers paid attention to the small details and provided sensory-friendly spaces, It was touching to witness autistic kids having a good time at a mosque, something they might have found difficult in a typical mosque atmosphere. Children were able to experience and take part in mosque activities in a welcoming and secure atmosphere because of the environment's consideration for those with special needs.

The organisers and volunteers deserve recognition for their kindness and dedication to ensuring that every child had a positive experience. It was a heartwarming initiative that catered to the needs of special needs children, and I highly recommend it.

What a great event! Big thank you to the organisers and the volunteers, for giving children this opportunity to experience mosque/play/learning in an environment they may not have gotten otherwise. It was very wholesome to speak to other parents/carers who experience the same struggles and blessings and for the children to interact in a place they feel safe. Will recommend to all! If you are local, regardless of religion/race, please attend to experience it for yourself!

They warm welcome was not only aimed at the special ones,but also their family. Though I had not booked the event as I got the info about an hour before the start of the event ,still we were not given even a tiny hint of un expected guest. I wish this will continue and at least be every weekend as my son loved it.

This is an amazing initiative targeting those in the community who are often overlooked. This event was open to all and there was a real sense of belonging regardless of religion,ethnicity etc. I found that that the day itself was planned well and ran without fault. This is a proper grass roots intiative where you can tell this has been made for the community by it's very own members. I wish the autism mosque all the very best in this new venture.

Such a great initiative really nice seeing muslim children and non Muslim alike being welcomed into the mosque , creating a sensory sensitive environment space where parents and autistic kids alike can enter the mosque without the fear of judgement .Autumn mosque went above and beyond my expectations and created a real sence of welcoming.The food was above standard with a great selection to cater for all and above all the drive and dedication was really good to see Can't wait to see more from autism mosque

What a lovely and much needed initiative. My children thoroughly enjoyed the craft activities, and the community feel to the masjid-which should always feel that way. They were so happy there were food options for them at iftar, as mosque and iftar events always focus around biryani I always have to carry a packed lunch for them! The volunteers were all so helpful and welcoming. Really appreciate all your efforts. We weren't expecting gifts at all! JazakAllah Khair. May Allah bless your endeavours, may you grow from strength to strength, may our children be blessed and more spaces become inclusive. Keep it up.

This was such a wonderful opportunity for my brother to visit a mosque and his needs were met!

Exceptional project recognising and welcoming children with disabilities within mosques. The ability to make people feel just as part of a community as everyone else , just magnificent! Fantastic work keep it up. Ameen.

An excellent project with an amazing initiative. Definitely much needed as we have nothing like it in our community. It deserves more recognition. May it become very successful because it truly is a wonderful much needed cause and so are the people behind it!
