I recently had two electric roller garage doors supplied and installed by Automated Garage Doors & Gates, and the entire experience was second to none.
The sales manager, Ian, was brilliant from day one. He was incredibly professional, patient, and thoroughly explained the different options without rushing me. He provided a brochure and a helpful video link, so I knew exactly what to expect. He estimated a six-week turnaround, and he was spot on. Ian kept me updated throughout and provided sterling customer service.
The installation team, Matt and Daniel, did a stellar job and took two days to complete the fitting. They worked diligently, never rushing the job, and the craftsmanship shows. They left the area completely spotless, removing all rubbish, packaging, hauling away all the old doors, frames, and debris. The product quality is excellent. The doors are fantastic—sturdy steel frames and strong UPVC covers that are securely screwed in rather than cheap, clip-in plastic.
Once fitted, Matt took the time to show me how to operate everything. To top it off, Ian visited the next day to go over the operation again and to ensure that I was 100% happy and satisfied with the operation before taking the final payment.
I am over the moon with the results. The new doors look amazing, and I’ve already received so many compliments from friends and neighbours. Huge thanks to Ian, Matt, and Daniel for a seamless experience and such wonderful service. I couldn't recommend them highly enough! I would definitely recommend this company.

We were very impressed with all our interactions with Automated Garage Doors from the initial visit to the showroom to the installation and follow-up. We had a complicated installation which had to be coordinated with other suppliers. Ian Richardson came out and supplied detailed drawings and advice to the other contractors. I recently reported to them the failure of an electric sliding gate installation that had been fitted at my property by their company some years ago.

It is my opinion that when this installation was first put in place the waterproof cabinet to contain all of the delicate electronic components and the 240 volt safety cut out switch gear etc was clearly fitted in the upside down position and, ‘ outdoors, exposed to the wind and the rain’.

In my opinion the, SOLID METAL TOP of the IP66 and IK10 protected cabinet had been pre-drilled by an engineer in the company workshops before bringing it to my property for assembly and connecting up.

The steel cabinet was then installed upside down to accept the electric connections from the ground below the cabinet.

These cables were for the supply of power to the electric gate motor and to bring in the underground mains ‘240 volt’ power supply from my garages some twenty eight metres away.

A drain hole, pre drilled by the manufacturer of the cabinet before painting / powder coating, is now located on my installation in, what was intended to be the bottom of the cabinet but unfortunately open to the elements and facing skywards.

This, in my opinion, rendered the integrity of the control cabinet totally worthless from the first moment the system was switched on.

It was, in my opinion, dangerous, potentially unsafe and not fit for purpose.

Since I brought this, in my opinion, ‘recently discovered installation failure’ to the attention of the company I have had various responses.

Apparently the failure of the system is ‘my fault’ for not taking out a maintenance / service contract.

I should have spoken to them before I found out that all the components within the cabinet, were red rusty and damaged beyond use or repair.

My installation was historic and I did not complain within their time frame.

We will offer a gesture to pay for one part representing a small percentage of the total replacement cost.

My position is that the installation was, in my opinion ‘ Unfit for Purpose, from day one and that it is fortunate that no one was electrocuted.

Water and electricity is a dangerous combination.

Who, when paying attention to detail, would elect to drill through the ‘solid metal top of an IP60 compliant outdoor waterproof cabinet, and then hang it upside down on the metal posts installed to support it.

Why ? would anybody then chose to leave a drain hole, which in my opinion, should be located underneath the cabinet and instead have it exposed to all weathers on the top of the cabinet.

It makes no sense to me.!

I had been a customer of Cooks Blinds, an associated company on several occasions both before and following the gate installation.

At around the same time as the gate was fitted I had purchased and they had installed three electric garage doors at the same property for me.

The doors have worked faultlessly since installation.

One of my friends has subsequently had an electric gate installation on my recommendation and I had always had, up to this present time, good service from both companies.

I consider myself to be a fair person
I am not a serial complainer.
I have no financial need to get something for nothing.

I consider however that in fairness to myself, in this instance, the replacement of the control cabinet and all of the necessary components should be carried out, or at least paid for by AUTOMATED DOORS AND GATES, at that companies expense.

I had been preparing to replace the components within the cabinet myself until I saw the way the cabinet had been installed which, in my opinion was the direct cause of the failure of virtually all the components within the cabinet and the premature corrosion within the cabinet it’s self.

I have looked at several similar cabinets in other locations over the past few weeks which I consider have been fitted correctly and are dry within and up to compliance standard.

In some cases the cabinets have been in place for longer periods than mine and the contents within the boxes were still in good order and corrosion free.

They are after all designed, when correctly fitted to be properly waterproof.

I have not seen a cabinet in real time or for sale online with a hole drilled in the top. Why would they?.

I am particularly disappointed in AUTOMATED GARAGE DOORS AND GATES.

They would not visit my premises, at my invitation to inspect the installation choosing to try to put all the blame on me, their old customer and declaring the damage and degradation to be all my fault.

Not pleasant or professional.

I suspect I shall have to get in someone reliable to re -install the control box and fittings and end up chasing payment in the courts.

First class service from start to finish. Very pleased with finished job. Fitters (Marcus and Nathan) were very competent, helpful and friendly. I would recommend this company.

Needed two electronic garage doors, read automated’s review thought they sound good. Went to their depot and met Ian. Told us everything we needed to know.
Gave us an installation date, gave us a price, absolute dream company to deal with. Ian is a first class man to deal with. He came took all the final measurements.

Charlie and his fitting team came on the specified date fitted the doors, they work perfectly, couldn’t ask for anything else. The reviews look to good to be true but believe me Ian and his team live up to all the great reviews they get. I would have NO hesitation in telling you to deal with automated-Ian-and his fitting team.

Very good quality roller door. Installed ahead of proposed date very efficiently by two obviously very capable and polite lads.

I contacted Ian after looking at various companies to replace my brother's garage door. Due to Parkinson's, my brother struggled with the old up and over door.
Ian was very helpful and knowledgeable about the VAT rating for such adoptions, many companies were not!
The door was fitted within the time stated and the guys made a great job, very clean and tidy too.

Recently supplied and fitted a Warm Protection Ultimate Roller Garage Door 3.4 m wide. The quality and value for money of the door was excellent. The showroom staff, sales manager and fitting team were all friendly, very knowledgeable and very good at their job. The fitting team worked well and removed the old door and accessories and left the site clean and tidy. The new door was fitted very carefully and sealant applied to any small gaps between walls and upvc trims. Overall, an excellent job and no hesitation in recommending them (as did a friend of mine to me).
