Everything was great prior to my arrival, even extended my rental with no hassle and a great price.
When I walked to the desk, the clerks barely greeted me as they were discussing how tired they already were and what time they were getting off work that day. I tried to ask some questions but received half a response. I had to ask all the instructions as I was just given a key and have a good day without any explanation about about the car etc.
The airport garage in Amsterdam is pretty dark so the car looked ok other than that there was more damage on the car than was shown on the paper. I was instructed to take picture and email them. Which is everything I hope for after a 10 hour flight and jetlag.
As I drove out of the garage, myself any the company I was in noticed the car had not been cleaned on the inside after the last rental. As I had an appointment I didn't have time to go back to the airport. I called the next day to try an arrange a carwash voucher or something of the sort.
I was instructed to send an email to general support, I asked if it was possible to solved it over the phone as I know those emails take forever to get e reply. The rep said no, that's the only way to receive help.
2 weeks after I had handed in the car I received an email (in german) that I needed to send "proof" that the car was dirty. I emailed them back that in the rush of leaving the airport etc I had not taken extensive photo's. And didn't think I needed severe proof to get a car cleaned LOL. What's the point anyways as I had already handed the car in and was back home for 2 weeks. (3 weeks had past since I emailed them).
That is where the communication ended. I had hoped for a BIT better assistance with such a simply solvable issue. Of course one can say, you could have just gotten it washed yourself, true but I think asking for AT least reimbursement of the cost , was a fair request.
Will not be going back....

Not recommended. I canceled my reservation a week before picking up the vehicle and still lost €70. Auto Europe, instead of releasing the pre-authorization, pulled the money and made a refund transfer the same day.

Physical credit cards
I booked a car and only after that was informed that only a credit card could be used for the deposit. Later I received an information letter about a credit card, where it was said that only physical credit cards are accepted in some salons. Still, there was no information about the conditions on the receipt of my car. As a result, my Bunq virtual credit card was not accepted at the salon. In addition, the salon could not cancel the reservation, but by phone number +31 85 001 2614, no one answered.
As a result, I lost time and money. This is a terrible service that is not user-oriented.

Be aware of self service option, it works
I reserved a car through AutoEurope with Hertz. When I checked the voucher I noticed closing time of the Hertz office was 5PM, the time of my reservation. As my flight was arriving just before I would almost certainly miss that time. AutoEurope could not assist me with this issue, even not when I asked them if I could use the self-service facility with an AE-voucher.
Indeed when I arrived at 5:15 the Hertz office was closed and there was a very small sign referring me to the self-service machine in the parking garage.
The good news: it worked.
Although Hertz closes ridiculously early for an airport location, It would have saved me a lot of nervosity if AutoEurope provided me with this practical piece of information.
The car was perfect, return was easy.

No confirmation of booking
The proces and information for booking a car is fine but after the payment I didn't receive a confirmation via e-mail (almost 8 hours later and no confirmation yet, neither in the spam folder).

Easy to find the right auto
Easy to find the right auto. Easy to choose extras. We haven't picked up the auto yet, so we hope it is as promised. In the past we haven't had any problems using Auto Europe .

I am (again!) very happy with Auto Europe / Easyterra!!
Recently my flight to Ancona was cancelled because of strikes in Italy. This was mentioned to me after the possibility to cancel the rental car without further costs had passed by. However the company arranged that the rental was cancelled without further costs by Sicily by car (which is also a very reliable and sympathetic company). Without doubt I will keep on renting with these twee two companies!!!

I recommend it to everyone.
We could get the best price for renting and then they refunded us when the rental company charged us a ridicolous amount for an already existing damage. It literally saved us twice.

last minute covid cancellation ...lost money
we had to cancel at the last minute due to a family member getting covid. We could not contact autoeurope as they open at 10am on saturday's. This was after the hire was supposed to begin (8am)
After contacting autoeurope they said as it was past the start of the hire date they could not do anything.
Autoeurope works if you don't change any travel plans, especially late on ... when you do there is a good chance you'll lose your money
If you think there is a chance of a late change of plans book direct with a rental car company that allows late changes

English-language vouchers, please
I give 3 out of 5 stars because there were two problems, each for a star subtraction. First, my credit card was not accepted, twice, but the supplied reason was incorrect. I changed my reservation to a different car and at Auto Europe and the the reservation simply worked. Second, I get the voucher for a US rental in Dutch, whereas I really want it in English. Auto Europe will supply this, and quickly, but I have to ask for it every single time. This is a pity. They can just give me a voucher in the English language when I rent outside of the Netherlands.
