A waste of time & money, nowhere close to being A.I.

The following review is my honest and genuine opinion based on my own experience of *trying* to use this service over the last two months or so.

I will also be upfront and say that the website of the service has its own facility for users to leave a review which I did 3 weeks ago and, no surprise my review was not published and ONLY great reviews are. You can make your own minds up on what that means.

I have been testing this site on and off for a few weeks now using the free version as I am not going to pay or subscribe to something unless I know it 100% works and, so far automateexcel does not work well.

I will also add that they do not respond/reply to emails either.

For the last week whole sections of the site are unresponsive, VBA Code Generator, Help/chat and FORMULA GENERATOR are down. They do not respond when I ask even a simple task. If I was a paying customer I would be VERY unhappy.

This review is based on my personal experience of trying to use this website and the results that I obtained while doing so.

In my experience the VBA code Generator, before it became unresponsive, can produce simple VBA all day long but of what use is that as we can do that ourselves.

Where a AI VBA Generator "should" excel (no pun intended) is on the complicated tasks that is above most users skill level else why would any subscribe?

It very often gets these more advanced tasks wrong and does not seem to understand free hand instructions. When I ran some of the code it got wrong through the VBA debugger, very often the fix it suggested also did not work. So you run it through again telling it the line of code that "IT" got wrong and it makes another suggestion.

This is also wrong, so you run through again telling it NOT to use the suggestion that did not work and it suggests the first thing again which I already told it was wrong.

You are then stuck in a loop of going around in circles and If I was was a paying subscriber I would be cancelling my payment and seeking a refund as the product is far from ready.

The MOST annoying thing is that the people behind it have called it an A.I.

Let's just consider that for a moment. A.I. or AI stands for Artificial Intelligence so at the very least such an AI should be able to learn from its mistakes, understand and implement user input, from basic to complicated and produce code that works 99.9% of the time especially if you are paying to use it.

Would any of us stand for buying a new car that only working 5% of the time?

Of course not and neither should we.

automateexcel is far from being an AI and I believe it is a very clever program designed, or painted, as a faux AI with no noticeable inteligence beyond what it's creators have coded in to it.

Indeed, if you ask the chat directly "are you a bot or are you an AI" it responds to say that it is a bot with a number of preprogrammed responses.

The last time I checked the definition of A.I. the above does not fit the description.

It has promise but it is a long way from being a product that anyone should pay to use, especially at the prices the developers are charging, it is absolutly not worth a penny right now.

Two or three years time maybe, who knows?

Calling a simple "prompt and answer" software an AI does not make it an AI., and in my personal and genuine opinion is is some what misleading and perhaps even dishonest.

As an addition, I wrote this review a month ago and decided to wait and see if the service improves but I am sad to say that it has actually become worse with the alleged "AI" getting even simple tasks correct
