Avra Beach Resort Reviews 

Avra Beach Hotel - we arrived a midnight last night. We were told our rooms were not available due to an issue with the air conditioning - allegedly in both rooms booked. We were given temporary rooms overlooking an extremely busy main road and were told not to unpack but we would get our actual rooms today. We reported the issue to the Jet 2 rep who was uninterested, with the view, it’s August, it’s busy what do you expect?’. When we asked at reception when we would finally have access to your rooms we were told our rooms were unavailable as the previous occupants were not checking out until later today. The Hotel lied to us and we didn’t receive our rooms until 14 hours after we arrived. Both rooms are supposed to be superior double garden view rooms but both are over looking roof tops with no garden view, so are not as advertised or what we have paid for. We have lost a day of our holiday with the room mix up - and are extremely unhappy that this has happened after paying a considerable large sum of money to Jet2 ‘for a package holiday you can trust’!

Lovely hotel, not too big. Arrived early hours and there were snacks waiting in a fridge for us. We were initially given the wrong room as had paid for a sea view but we were switched the next day, this wasn’t a problem at all. New room was lovely, great view over the sea. People do go out early for sunbeds, just make sure someone is sitting on them between 8-8.30 as they do remove towels from sunbeds with no people on them only at this time. Food was good, the lunchtime food at the separate restaurant is very good if you don’t fancy going for the buffet. Evening food had a good but not extensive selection but everything we had was good quality especially the local food. Good selection of all inclusive drinks! Kids loved the snack bar, cakes, ice creams, waffles then a few savory options in the evenings. The beach is shingle/cobble so recommend shoes if going in the sea. The entertainment team were the best, Boogie, Lia, Tibi and Sam were so welcoming and amazing with the kids! Club dance round the pool several times a day, kids loved getting a tshirt with their name on (15 euros) which they wore for the rest of the holiday! Handy little shop on site that literally had everything we needed. Booked an evening trip into old town for 22 Euros return for 4 of us, prompt pickup and return which we booked with the team in reception! Overall very good! Would definitely return to this hotel x

We are currently staying at Avra Beach Resort in Rhodes and honestly, it has been a fantastic experience so far!

The Hamam spa massage was absolutely amazing – one of the highlights of our stay. Every evening there’s a different themed night which keeps things fun and varied, and there are loads of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

We’re here celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and the hotel has made it extra special. Our family room overlooking the sea is beautiful – waking up to that view each morning is just perfect.

A huge shout-out to the cleaners who do an incredible job every day – the rooms are spotless. The restaurant staff are always on hand, so attentive and hardworking. There’s one gentleman (I believe his name starts with C-Christos who truly stands out – such a dedicated worker and always with a smile.

The restaurant manager clearly takes pride in making sure everything runs smoothly, and it shows. Also, a big thank you to the two staff members who checked us in late at night (room 511) and the lovely morning ladies – all so welcoming and helpful.

Big shout-out to the entire team – you’ve made our anniversary trip really special. Highly recommend!

The food was trash, absolut trash, I could feed the dogs on the street with it. I’m from Sweden and the food in hood is better!😡🤢🤮

We have had a great time at the Avra Beach Resort rooms were very nice and clean. The food was very good I have a partner who can be a bit fussy he always found something to eat. All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you would definitely go back.

Firstly what makes this hotel is the entertainment team Boogie, Bee and Tibi they work so hard at making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and don't pressure you into joining in the games. Im really fussy with food but you could not fault it. Only negative is the sunbed situation 100% need to sort it. There are deluxe ones on the beach but if not on them by 7am you've got no chance. Dread to think at peak season how many people dont get a bed, of any sort, to lay on.

My girlfriend was laying with a very severe headache in our room, when a stupid lady from the reception came rushing in yelling, screaming at her that we were supposed to have checked out an hour ago because new people were gonna check in soon, she didnt know that, she should have been more calm, telling in a nicer tone, not stay there again

We had a great holiday the hotel was clean and well kept all the staff were very friendly and helpful the food in the restaurant was amazing the bar staff were very good our favourite was George he was so friendly and as for the entertainment staff they were all amazing happy and friendly but our favourites were boogie and bee such nice people just came and sat down and just chatted to you made you feel welcome we did connect with them because there energy kindness and genuine care for guests shone through but the hole team was excellent the rooms were clean and tidy but a bit out of date but we only slept in there so not a real problem the cleaners were also very good and very friendly they did amazing job.the out look from the hotel was amazing a sea view as the hotel was right on the beach which was good the snack bar was good as it was open until 12.00pm but some of the staff could have been a bit more friendly and could of smiled a bit more the other restaurant on the other side they were very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic i would go back as long as they keep the same entertainment team

From the moment we arrived, it was the entertainment team who truly stole our hearts. Sam, Tibi, Lia, Glykeria, Valeria, and especially Boogie and Bee, brought so much joy to our days. We really connected with Boogie and Bee – their energy, kindness, and genuine care for guests shone through every single day. The whole team works tirelessly from morning to night, and it’s clear they love what they do. They are without a doubt what makes this hotel stand out.

The bar staff – Anastasia and George – were just as wonderful. Warm, friendly, and always going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their service was faultless and their smiles never failed to brighten our evenings.

The snack team sadly didn’t have quite the same friendliness, and while we understand it’s hot work, a smile here and there would have made a big difference.

The food was delicious, beautifully laid out, and full of flavour. While there aren’t endless options for those who prefer familiar dishes, there’s plenty to tempt you if you’re open to trying something new. The restaurant staff work incredibly hard, clearing tables swiftly and keeping everything spotless.

Arriving late with tired and hungry children could have been stressful, but the thoughtful touch of water and snacks in the mini fridge at reception made all the difference.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Yes, some areas feel a little dated, but with the expansion and renovations planned, it’s only going to get better. The location is perfect – close to Rhodes Town with an excellent taxi service for €25 return to the Old Town. The driver deserves a big thank you too – always smiling, always helpful, and a lifesaver when travelling with two kids!

If there was one thing to improve, it would be to offer a complimentary changing room for guests with late flights. With our departure at 11pm, it was a long day without air conditioning or facilities to freshen up. But honestly, it didn’t dampen our experience at all.

We fell completely in love with this place – the people, the warmth, the laughter – and we didn’t want to leave. Our first family holiday here will be one we cherish forever

This hotell is so good. To stramt with the food, it was superb for being an all inclusive hotell, the food was very varied and not the same thing every day. And something for everyone even a picky eater. The all inclusive drinks was superb and there were a lot to choose from.
The hotell itself is very clean and so are the rooms. Some rooms are older like the one we had but absolutely not an issue. Clean beds, good bathroom, good balcony and ac working well.
The safety box you have to pay extra for but not a problem to me.
Sunbeds on the beach is included, and loads both by the beach and pool.
Animation team this year (2025) was the absolute best. Words can’t describe their hard work and attention for detail. Nothing but amazing.
The staff in the hotell was great and so helpful.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

We were a party of six and arrived at around 2am, we had booked 2 family rooms and 1 double room (the only rooms available on the Jet2 website when I booked) When my husband and I got to our room it was horrible, old, dated, smelled damp, the decor was dark and dingy and the fridge was dirty and contained half eaten food. I went immediately back to the reception and asked for a change of room, I was told to please stay there for tonight and come back in the morning and they would see what they could do. I went back the next day and was offered a different room at an extra charge of 150 euros, I said I would absolutely not pay extra money as I had booked three rooms, all the same price and my room was rubbish whilst the others were very nice. It was agreed that I could get a better room at no extra charge so I moved and was very happy with the new room. However a couple of days later I was speaking to some other couples and they had experienced the same thing, and they had been asked for between 130 euros and 200 euros for an upgrade. I feel that this is some sort of scam and is out of order. Apart from this, the hotel, facilities, food and drink choice and quality and the entertainment are very good. Down side is the cleanliness of the communal pool toilets and the toilets and showers by the games room leave a lot to be desired. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming.

We loved the Aqua aerobics and attended each session it was great fun
After the Aqua the snack bar and pool bar were very handy and we had coffee and a Danish pastry.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and
of a very high quality
We had a few problems with the shower flooding ,however I rang reception and a workman attended within 5 mins . The maid came in to mop the water up.The floor was very dangerous when wet .
As a good will gesture because we had problems we were allowed to keep our room on complimentary till 7pm.
We really enjoyed our holiday and were so pleased they had a lift .
The entertainment was excellent through the day and on a night .
We were never bored

Fabulous hotel great superior room with sea view and even a standard room was the same quality even with no view. Staff were hardworking and friendly and the entertainment team were fabulous. My son is disabled and a lot of staff knew him by name after only a day or 2. Great food, we are vegetarian and there was a good choice of salads and hot food for us. Sea was warmer than the pool but we did go in April so am sure it will be warmer later in the year. Only one suggestion, 2 serving areas for ice cream and dessert would be better as there was always a big queue.

This place is very beautiful. The food is amazing!

It was my first time booking an all inclusive holiday and stayig during half term but I was travelling with my neice and my 12 year great neice but we had such an amazing holiday. The Avra Beach Hotel is in such a perfect location. It is right on the beach and it's so easy to get into Rhodes Old Town either by public transport or by using the shuttle service. We also booked two tours to Symi and Lindos by boat which were an incredible experience for all us. I actually enjoyed all the hotel entertainment and music! I even joined in with the aqa aerobics and the Greek dancing! I also found a lovely quiet, sandy swimming spot between the rocks on the shore too. My neices just loved it all, specially the incredible variety of food available.
However, the main highlight of the hotel is its staff. The housekeeping team were brilliant at keeping the whole hotel looking pristine throughout the day and the grounds were maintained to a high standard. We booked a standard triple room which though the bathroom was a little tired around the edges it was spotlessly clean. The Reception Team were so helpful and accommodating, as were all the restaurant and bar staff. The entertainment team certainly seemed to motivate and get everyone involved too. It's certainly the staff that make the Avra Beach Hotel so special.

Upon arrival we weren't really given any instruction where anything was other than pointing a finger to the darkness outside. Got the the room and the door was stiff and difficult to open, it was also a struggle to lock. Got into the room and we were very disappointed by the look (old and outdated) of the room for a 4 star hotel (stayed in better 3 star). Usually wouldn't complain about the room decor, however, the handles on the cupboards/drawers were loose, one came off and later in the week the door handle came off. We appreciated that we had been given an upgrade as it was for a birthday but we didn't want to risk complaining to be moved into a smaller room with a worse view. Aside from the problems with the room we also weren't very happy with the service received. A handful of the staff always smiled and said hello and tried to make a bit of conversation, however, more often you would receive a blank stare and no smile what so ever which felt very unwelcoming. The hotel itself was lovely hence why I've gave it 3 stars and not any lower. Overall it was decent but still a bit of a disappointing holiday.

Just back from a fantastic holiday to Avra Beach. Our party consisted of 3 Adults, 2 Teenagers and a 9 year old, with the Teenagers rating it the best holiday yet and they are already well travelled!! The staff throughout worked very hard every day to make sure all requirements were fully met. We spent most of the time on the beach enjoying the fantastic views and yes the sun beds weren’t the best but if people treat them as their own it would help. Thanking everyone for the great memories.

Have just returned from avra beach hotel , I requested 2 rooms as travelling with family as anniversary holiday , were given rooms in old building these were very dated bathrooms were not nice pedestal didn’t even fit basin , bed so close to wardrobe had to keep moving bed down , very disappointed with rm complained in morning could move rooms but at a cost of €200 each rm.
Food ok but could of been hotter drinks ok , sunbeds awful if you managed to get one a lot broken made complaint was told maintenance would look into it , cigarette ends everywhere by sunbeds , 3of us in a rm had 3 hand towels 3 bath towels next day would only have 3 hand towels!!!! After a shower this was unacceptable had to chase maid down the corridor to exchange only to be met with a scowl, would I return to this hotel NO I WOULD NOT , have stayed in Rhodes last year different hotel that was wonderful should of booked there instead , I found the hotel staff ok but on asking for local bus timetable was told “I don’t know “not helpful .
This hotel can not cope with the amount of people staying there pool far too small , not enough sunbeds ,or seating for evening entertainment.
I did have treatment at the spa which was lovely and the staff were lovely , entertainment team very good , but you needed them to make this holiday worth while.

The staff at Avra Beach make the place what it is, the bar staff restaurant, reception and especially the entertainment team! Brilliant, well done to all. The hotel is in a great location, Rhodes town a short taxi away hotel shuttle service 6 euro return per person. Everywhere kept clean & tidy. Plenty sunbeds more on the beach than by the pool, we chose the beach. For the selfish stupid people who get up at the crack of dawn to reserve beds, towels will be removed. Food was excellent, lots of choice including the snack bar. Self serve water & soft drinks. Entertainment varied & the team are so friendly making everyone feel welcome. We had a great time and would definitely go back.
Such a shame to see the fires since we left so sad, our hearts go out to the people of the island. Avra Beach well away from the areas that were on fire. Would we recommend? Absolutely!!
