Intructions weren't very clear and the pricing felt a bit high for what it offers could be better with clearer guidance and more affordable plans.
I recently went to Tenerife on holiday and while I was there, I got quite poorly with flu. I was advised to go to the doctor had to go on a nebulizer for two days and antibiotics, when I have gone to claim my money back from Axa because I’ve had a cough or a cold in the last two years they said it’s a pre-existing condition due to respiratory so therefore my claim was turned down. I personally think it is ridiculous and petty and I would never use Axa again
first contacted axa travel insurance in october 2024 following 2 days in hospital
i had to pay full amount of fees over £3000 for the treatment due to being released on a sunday
all requested paperwork from axa was duly sent.
After a period of time, in januaru apon speaking to someone they advised that they had not received my health history
I was was never asked for this despite the member of staff insisting that its the first thing that is requested
ok so got my full medical history from my doctors surgery and sent this off
Apon calling axa after 2/3 weeks I was informed that that need full medical history from 5 years up to when I was taken ill in late october.!
It was explained that because the issue was with the brain they needed more info!
Now I have to go back to my GP and pay some more money for another report
The delaying tactics seem so trivial but having spoken to someone it appears that they really do not want to help
Beware Axa travel insurance!
-5 stars. I've asked for proof why they won't pay out. Keep ignoring my emails. Money grabbing waste of space. T2024U-0008073
I was injured hiking in Portugal in 2024. I needed surgery and had to spend 9 days in the hospital due to complications. AXA was horrible to work with, they are masters at stalling and disconnecting phone calls. They promise to get back to you in 24 hours for evacuation help then never call back. The paperwork, customer service, and entire experience was very frustrating. After 3 months I finally filed with the Attorney General, only then did they pay me back for 90% of my claim.
