Systemic Leadership Failures -A Clear Pattern of Managerial Negligence

Throughout my employment, no structured onboarding, training, or role-specific guidance was ever provided, despite the complexity of the product and the highly specialized K–12 market. I have documented everything. This lack of foundational preparation only became evident to the CEO after he attended a client meeting and observed that I had not been equipped with the information necessary to address detailed technical questions. Rather than acknowledging that this gap stemmed directly from his own failure to provide training or direction, he instead shifted responsibility onto me with the statement, “YOUR sales are ineffective.” This accusation was not only inaccurate, but a transparent attempt to deflect blame for leadership deficiencies onto an employee who had never been given the tools required to succeed.

This incident reflects a broader, well-documented pattern of managerial negligence and unprofessional conduct. In a group meeting — where he appeared visibly distracted and was eating breakfast on camera — the CEO openly admitted, “I know I have been checked out for the past few months.” His prolonged disengagement had a direct, negative impact on my ability to perform my role, yet he repeatedly redirected responsibility for these consequences toward me.

Additionally, basic managerial expectations were consistently disregarded:

Leadership was routinely late to scheduled meetings, often joining unprepared or canceling without notice.

Pipeline reviews — essential for a sales role — were never scheduled in advance. Instead, I received last-minute messages such as, “Are you available in 45 minutes for a pipeline review?” making effective preparation impossible.

Rather than regular, structured check-ins during normal business hours, I frequently received requests to “check in” at 7–8 PM, well outside standard working hours, with no regard for boundaries or workload management.

Other leaders routinely appeared on camera while eating or multitasking, underscoring an ongoing lack of professionalism and respect.

Requests for support were delayed, ignored, or delivered inconsistently, further hindering my ability to meet expectations that were never clearly defined or supported.

Taken together, these behaviors demonstrate not just isolated instances of poor leadership, but a systemic failure to provide a professional, supportive, or functional work environment. The deficiencies in training, communication, structure, and managerial accountability created conditions under which success was effectively impossible — conditions for which I was then unfairly blamed.

Working with Axiom is one of the best …

Working with Axiom is one of the best things we did during the college application process! Knowledgeable, caring staff reduce the stress. My son was accepted by Yale and Axiom was there from test prep to essay writing and helped him make his dream come true.
