Axkid Minikid 4 Pro

Axkid Minikid 4 Pro
Extremely disappointed with this Axkid seat. Despite the brand's reputation, this is the worst car seat I’ve ever owned.

Compatibility issues: The manual is misleading. It claimed compatibility, yet I had to pay for professional car adjustments to install it properly.

Instability: The seat feels loose and unstable, which is unacceptable for a high-end safety product.

Serious Safety Flaw: The harness ergonomics are poor for parents but dangerously easy for children. My child can escape the straps effortlessly and has direct access to the tension release button.

It is a major safety hazard when a child can de-tension their own harness while driving. I honestly question how this model passed the Plus Test/safety standards with such a flawed design.

I love Axkid car seats

I love Axkid car seats! They have a premium feeling and my boys love to use their Axkid Up and Minikid 4. I can strongly recommend it.

Do not purchase these car seats I…

Do not purchase these car seats I purchased an axkid mini 2 for my daughter in February as I was sold on the safety aspects of the seat, however after 6 months of use the metal prongs are now showing in the harness and they are doing nothing about it. Halfords confirmed my worries that the metal prongs showing and not properly clicking into place is not safe but Axkid are disregarding a professional opinion and instead of taking the car seat back are wasting time asking for videos when I have already sent a picture of the metal prongs showing. They even told me it’s common for this to happen to their seats.
Their customer service is absolutely awful and now I’ve had to purchase another car seat and will have to go through trading standards as they are selling unsafe carseats

Safety ratings mean little when the…

Safety ratings mean little when the service is so poor. Issues with a near £600 seat whilst still under warranty.

Asked to return it to inspect and informed me it was likely sand or dirt stuck inside. We had actually checked this already but it was not sand or dirt and we haven’t even been to the beach since having this seat! It’s interesting how they default to it not being a problem with their product right away.

I couldn’t return seat as how would I then transport my child to nursery to enable me to work? This would result in time off work and inconvenience to us as a family.

If you bought a premium product such as a Mercedes you would expect a courtesy car when under warranty, I expect this when spending a premium on a car seat. They say they can’t loan seats but I am aware they have done so before for other customers. They could easily test them after they were returned to ensure they were safe to use.

I also haven’t liked their attitude to my issues and felt they’ve been very defensive. I’ve done with a competitor now and wouldn’t buy from them again.

Scam company

Scam company! Fraud!
I have not received my order, which I placed back in April. You have withdrawn the money, and I received an order confirmation — but no follow-up email, no tracking, nothing!
I was supposed to receive my order no later than today, and you are not responding via email, Facebook, or Instagram!

Good customer service

After doing tonnes of research and reading so many reviews and ADAC reports and statistics, I settled on ordering the Axkid ONE 2. Ordered as part of their Black Friday deals and got a prompt delivery which was good. Sadly, through no fault of the seat or the company’s, we couldn’t make the seat work in our car and my partners long legs in the passenger seat. The customer service I received when dealing with this was great. We returned the seat as it was delivered, with all tags and fixtures still in place and we were given a full refund.

AVOID! Terrible build quality, overpriced, bad service

Terrible build quality, it’s already broken after only a handful of uses as a secondary seat, my child suffers severe back pain and now they won’t give us a refund. They say that they will only fix it if we send it back in the original box!! TERRIBLE PRODUCT AND WORSE SERVICE! WE JUST WANT OUR MONEY BACK.
•The headrest protrudes about 40mm beyond the backrest, so the child's neck is bent froward, causing discomfort and I assume spinal damage
•The cheaply made plastic side impact bumper broke almost immediately
•The ‘automatic’ headrest height adjuster worked about 3 times on and off and now doesn’t work at all
•The cheaply made polystyrene pads are useless and are already broken- no use in an accident
•The material used for the cover has stretched and already gone baggy after one wash

I am disgusted with the response and I want it rectified otherwise I will be proceeding legally. I am an engineer and am horrified at the terrible quality for something that is so important- the comfort and safety of our children. We bought it for our camper van, as there is no isofix, so now we’re stuck with this awful seat. We have a different seat in our car and it has been washed numerous times, has been used on a daily basis for 2 years and is still in perfect condition. No excuses.

Replacement part

Not only is the Axkid minikid (2) is a great seat that our child has been extremely comfortable in from the age of 3 to 6, their customer service is excellent. My son lent on the headrest whilst it was extended and snapped the plastic so the headrest was loose. Axkid sent a replacement part very quickly and a video showing how I could easily replace this myself. Very responsive to emails and overall excellent customer service
