Stop yourself from visiting this place...

We went to Ærø on our studytrip with our højskole last week. One night we decided to visit this place because it seemed so cozy and idyllic.

We went to get some pizza and the first waiter who took our orders were friendly. But a bit later, two of us went to the balcony to enjoy the view and have a glass of wine. The balcony was a part of the restaurant and you could go straight up there from the eating place. Suddenly a woman came. She also worked at the hotel/restaurant, and even though we haven't seen her before, she started yelling at us and threw us away.

There was no sign telling us that we couldn't stay at the balcony.

We tried to stay in the garden. Then she came again and threw us away. She was out of her mind and didn't wanted to hear what we had to say. Non of us have never tried anything so rude. We were and still are in shock!

Never ever are we going to visit that place again or let any of our friends go there.

Dear Magnus, and Magnus’ friends: situations can easily be interpreted in different ways...
a spiral staircase in a very side corner of Badehotel entrance is clearly not part of the restaurant.
Among thousands of visitors since we opened the restaurant, you have been the only ones climbing up.

As you say, you have been friendly served no matter we were closed (past 22:30), though you have been 2 times invited to leave the top floor terrace to guarantee the hotel’s guests’ privacy.
I apologize if the second time I did it in a straight way, a host should always smile!

But we will not put signs where the common good sense is enough...
otherwise Ærø would be full of signs everywhere.

About the hotel’s garden...
well, actually there is the sign there...

Our goal and priority is our guests’ satisfaction: both hotel’s and restaurant’s.
With everyone’s cooperation this is possible, and if you would like to come back we can of course talk about that.
Kind regards
Monica
