Not good - no customer service! Edited

Update 12hours after posting: I believe its only fair to update this as they have now reached out, apologised for the delay and refunded the item. Its a shame that its all a bit late but they have dealt with it quickly and decisively in the end.

Ordered when these we listed as being out - either a Summer break or system maintenance depending on which part of the site you visit. Placed a large order and was prepared to wait. Then out of nowhere my order was shipped and out for delivery with UPS - the worst carrier to try and rearrange. Tried to contact and no response - email or phone. Delivery happened and was very well packaged but DO NOT order the samphire in a jar - its contaminated and tastes like petrol. It reacts to flame as a test! contacted them and no response - nothing. Fill in the contact form online and you dont even get an email copy. Unfortnuately the other food is good but can source elsewhere and will not be ordering again - very disappointed

Awful website they make you pay 10£ for delivery and they still take 10 days to dispatch your order
I placed my order on the 12th of September I contacted the costumer service as no signs of my order and today is 22nd of September and I paid 9,99£ for their delivery and I only live in Cambridge.
Definitely won’t order from them again

This isn't really a review

This isn't really a review, it's more of a question as there is nothing on their website. When does this company resume deliveries after their summer shutdown? All I was told on the emails is that they will deliver my item in September. I've had no follow up email since 26th August. Sent an email today asking, but got an instant reply saying the emails "aren't monitored" during summer shutdown! Does anybody know when they open up again?

Excellent company, will order again soon!

Excellent company. I had a family gathering this week and ordered a lot of food (frozen and cupboard items) and everyone was very impressed with the quality. I was particularly happy that this company stock sheftalia which I find extremely hard to find in any online deli. The staff were very helpful when I contacted them online with regards to allergens as one member of my family cannot have gluten; they replied almost instantly and advised me in my choice of food.
The food arrived extremely well packaged and the frozen items were still frozen. I will definitely be ordering from Bakalikon again in the near future.
As a side note, I was also impressed with their selection of Greek wines (particularly those from Kir-Yianni).

Food wasted and really bad customer service.

I haven’t come across such an incompetent company. I had ordered frozen meat and pastries for a party and paid £11 for quite delivery. I received an email with a tracking number for the delivery. By the way, you can’t choose a delivery slot or even day! The products were delivered to the development’s concierge and i wasn’t notified of this. The box wasn’t indicating food product or frozen food and this is why the box was received by the concierge staff. I enquired the following day about where my order was and this is how I learned where it was delivered! The food was already defrosted and not safe to eat as was meat!

I asked for a refund and all they said was that it was my fault! My responsibility! And that I have the wrong address (?!?!?). The food was delivered to the wrong address (the concierge) and not to my home!

I responded and guess what- they didn’t even bother to email me back!

Incompetent and the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

To clarify, firstly you did not provide the correct address when placing the order. You also claimed that you had provided with us with infromation that her doorbell was not working, but we received confirmation that you could not prove it, so even if the poor delivery guy was trying to attempt delivery how could they? Additionally, you failed to acknowledge the UPS emails and our email with the tracking number and delivery times. So even though all of these action yet the driver was able to deliver a parcel to an incomplete address with no access to the building and of course as he couldn't find you, he left it at the concierge - you understand that was the only option. Even though, since your received your tracking number, you could just check it and see that it was delivered one day before you contacted us, but instead of that she sent an email to us today 29 hours after the delivery to find the parcel so as to claim a refund for everything.

Iris, if you were to place an order and receive a tracking number, wouldn't you track your parcel the next day? Or would you wait two days and then become upset because you failed to track your parcel, along with making other mistakes, and of course because you couldn't take the blame to become upset and defamating a company to your clients and the local community - as Elena (one of the local community left us quite a review on Google)?

We consider this review as a defamatory action against you, as well as you friend's review as she might not be familiar with the correct facts, as you seem to have failed to inform you correctly about you actions and have people from your local community threatening our company. We will take legal action against you, as this is very disrespectfully to us. It is unacceptable to try to tarnish our company in this manner by having individuals who have not even ordered from us write a review on your behalf on different review platforms.

Thank you for also writing your review here. We will take the necessary legal measures and that's why we haven't replied to you yet at your last email even though at our previous 3 we explained that this is not our mistake but you failed to provide us with your correct address, provide us with the message that your bell is not working and also not even care about your parcel so as not to track it.

5 Star Products & Service

Amazing service and products. Really cannot recommend this website enough if you are looking for food and drink produce you can only purchase in Greece. Experiencing so much nostalgia with my Fanta blue and 3bit Chocolate bars!! Haven’t tried the frozen products but they look amazing. Order arrived in 2 days, great communication from the store directly, and packaged very well. 5 star all round.
Plan to continue using your services for the foreseeable future.

Zero stars. Delivery charge rip off. I initially asked Bakalikon over fbk messenger for delivery fees, they said there is no delivery fee over £25. I made an order for £27 - small & light 4 items totalling to less than 1kg. Royal Mail charges £2.99 for it and EvRI 2.99 or £3,98 if next day .
I noticed they didn’t ask for delivery address so I emailed them but they said that that employee made a mistake and either I pay £10 delivery fee from Nottingham or they cancel the order. I asked to speak to the manager. As punishment for my reflection re cost of delivery for a packet under 1kg now they don’t reply to my email, no reply on messenger, and both phone lines are cutting off. My money is now being held and no service and no communication.
Flat delivery fee of £10 regardless of your purchase below £55 (they corrected themselves) is over the top and that’s already on top of the double/triple costs of the products compared to what they really cost, which as customers we already accept by making an order. I do not recommend.

We have communicated with the customer who has indicated that she intends to amend her review. We have engaged in dialogue with the customer, and we have successfully resolved the issue of delivery fees, which were determined based on the size and weight of the box, which exceeded the 1kg. There was a miscommunication regarding the parcel fees, but we have since resolved the matter. Regrettably, due to the training of our staff, our phone lines were congested today. However, we were able to respond promptly to the customer's call and we were able to resolve the issue successfully, without any negative feedback from her.

Excellent service

I've made two orders so far and every time the products were all there and packaged with extra care (chilled & frozen shipping). Delivery (UPS) was on time and with frequent updates on its status. The website is a bit clunky but the overall UX is acceptable. I'll definitely be ordering again. Thank you.

The best customer service

Excellent Greek products and great variety - but most importantly: impeccable customer service. I ordered for the first time and there was a big confusion with UPS resulting in my package being delayed. However, Bakalikon's managers helped throughout the whole confusion with constant updates and clear communication. Eventually, they stepped up to ensure delivery. A high customer service level that is tailor made to the needs of the client. I would definitely recommend the online shop and I would definitely try it again.

Excellent service and quick delivery time

'Bakalikon' is undoubtedly the best choice for anyone looking to buy genuine Greek products in the UK.
Their customer service is very helpful and friendly.
A key element that surprised me was the way the products were placed and protected in the package, but also that they had taken incredible care of the frozen products by placing ice cells to preserve them in a separate box (professionalism at greatest level).
I will definitely prefer their services again!

Extremely happy

Extremely happy with the quality of products and price! All of my orders were dispatched and delivered very quickly, easy to contact them and had very helpful customer services. I’m impressed with the variety and originality of their products. The website is easy to navigate. The Customer Service took the time to phone me and then email me about a product in my order. The delivery was quick and the products as described. I will definitely order again.

Excellent care and service

First time using Bakalikon and they will now be my preferred service - wish I had found them earlier. Fast delivery, great produce, well and safely packaged. Previously used another online Greek market which was always slow and crisps arrived crushed. Bakalikon's delivery came carefully packaged in a box with padding, ice coolers and a discount voucher with a long valid date. It was a great experience to receive the delivery: the packing and a voucher that doesn't expire within a short period of time made me feel like they care. I will be placing another order. Can't wait.

Order a few times but there was always…

Order a few times but there was always a problem with delivery. Always wanted to charge more and last time they wouldn't send my order so I did cancel and received a full refund.

Thank you for your review, though we think you are making false allegations for our company.
On your first order, the delivery took place two days after placing your order. On your second order, the delivery was scheduled on the same day with our vans (we got the supporting communication via texts with you) without requesting any extra charge in both cases from you. So, we do not understand the issue with your deliveries, if you would like to talk to us, please feel free to. We provided you with exceptional customer service and support in all of our communication without receiving any negative feedback.
Our Customer Service team explained our Delivery information thoroughly according to our Terms and Conditions on all of your orders. Still, in your final order, you mentioned that it wasn’t clear enough on our website, and thus we have it more apparent now. On the day of your third order (in May), our manager contacted you, as again you failed to pay for the correct delivery fees by mistake, demanding that we deliver your order by skipping the charges and getting free delivery. For this reason, we requested you to either add extra items to your basket to cover the delivery fees or pay the correct amount of the delivery fees to dispatch it for delivery; we never denied you the delivery according to your accusations. However, you asked us to cancel your order, and we fully refunded you for your order without any delay. Then, you dropped us a text again stating that the delivery information wasn’t clear enough. This issue was resolved on the day, and you provided us with feedback via text saying that the delivery information was not again clear sufficient for you, so as this caused you inconvenience, you asked for your order to be cancelled, also stating that the delivery charges are too much for you to pay. Our complaints manager then contacted you again and heard your feedback; overall, you did not want to pay for the delivery charges according to our Terms and Conditions.
When you placed this review on the Trustpilot, our manager tried to contact you to resolve any pending issues and questions you might have, but you just hung up on them. The previous month in one of our ads on social media, you accused our company of misleading advertisement. All we were advertising was the outcome of our products with our products listed. Therefore, to settle that from both sides, we would like an immediate public retraction of all of your statements with an apology to us, as this is an act of defamation causing our company distress.
