It was all good but no windows to open

In 2021 I had sleeve gastrectomy surgery, everything went perfectly. Three weeks ago I had an arm lift and mommy makeover. I spent 9 days between the hospital and the hotel. I am very happy and grateful for having chosen Bariatric Istanbul. No one spoke Portuguese at the hospital, but the nurses used the translator on the phone. Everyone was very professional and caring. My surgeon, Dr. Elif Eren Aydin, has magic hands.
Still undergoing maintenance, but the results are already visible. The scars are beautiful, straight and perfect. No pain so far, just the normal discomfort that is part of the process. There is nothing I would want any other way. Agradeço de coração! A minha experiência foi maravilhosa.

Upon arrival to Emsey Hospital we were greeted everything felt rushed, our flight arrived late into Istanbul (23/06/25) the paperwork was put in front of us with no explanation and we were just told to sign it with no translation. Then after bloods and ECG was done I was given 2 tablets and an injection and wasn’t told what they were as no one spoke English.
The next day translator arrived she was with me for the ultrasound scan, chest X-ray and height and weight checks. An hour later I had to have an endoscopy with no translator which resulted in the nurse shoving a round thing in my mouth forcefully, there was no attempt at communication of what to do she just forced my mouth open.
On arrival to the operation I was set up for the operation the surgeon walked in and said results were all good then he looked at my folder and was told they couldn’t operate after all due to complications then everything was removed off me, as they started to escort me to the way out they abruptly stopped and the nurse threw the patient folder over the top of my bed which resulted in hitting me on the head and shoulder, the anaesthetised helped me and removed it. I was then wheeled into a room and left for 20-30 minutes with no explanation as to what was going on, after this I was taken back to my room my assigned person called the doctor who then explained what was happening, the surgeon then spoke to me himself to say they had found a mass on my liver and large intestines so they couldn’t operate.
We left later that day for the hotel and I was told I would have a refund after calculations were done to figure out how much balance was left to owe to me. I was told I’d have a full refund before I left turkey on Friday 27th June and now I have no communication and I am being ignored fully. Even through trust pilot reviews were good for bariatric Istanbul I did not have that experience and would urge people to avoid at all costs.
Update received half of my money back after a week of chasing them
After tests such as ct nothing on my liver or large intestines were found the results from turkey have caused me and my family endless worry and unpaid days off work for no reason whatsoever my experience has been very poor and would still advise to stay clear

They provide exceptional customer service before the procedure, during and after. You will be amazed how clean everything is. The room/ private toilet are cleaned at least once a day. You truly feel like a VIP in a 5* hotel.

The nurses/ doctors/ translators are amazing and make you feel like home the moment you get there. They are very patient, caring, answer all your questions and listen to any worries you have.

The procedure is very straight forward and I didn’t experience any complications. I was comfortable and always had a nurse to help me if needed.

Overall, I would highly recommend BARIATRIC ISTANBUL and I can’t fault them on anything. I truly had the best experience.

Bariatric Istambul was the best choice I've made it, I couldn't believe the level of caring and the standards of the hospital! My husband is British and was very difficult to convince him to agreed for me to have my surgery (sleeve) in Turkey, he went with me and he was so impressed with everything, and decided to have his surgery there also.
The surgeons have 30 years of experience, the nurses, translators, cleaners, taxi.... everyone was absolutely 💯
I am going back again to do another surgery with them I highly recommend Bariatric Istambul.

I had my gastric sleeve done at Bariatric Istanbul. My agent - Fernando Rosende - was so helpful through out the whole process. He arranged everything for me including transportation. He is very professional and knowledgeable and answered all my questions at any time of the day despite our time difference. Although I am only a few weeks post op, Fernando takes time out of his day to check on me daily. Thank you for being so kind and helpful with everything, I couldn’t have had a better agent.

I had a gastric sleeve operation at the Bariatric Surgery Center. The whole experience was expertly arranged by Fernando, one of the surgery's team. He organised everything - including transport to and from the airport and the operation dates. He also explained every part of the process, answering any questions I had and putting my mind at rest. The hospital was modern and impeccably clean, and every member of staff I met was extremely helpful and professional. I loved my experience at the Bariatric Istambul. Everyone was so lovely and sweet! I 100% would recommend this clinic. My agent Juliana is the best! She kept in contact with me even months after my surgery to ensure I’m okay and doing well.

I had my bariatric sleeve operation at Bariatric Istanbul in December 2022 by ProfDr Hüseyin Sinan. When I entered the hospital I was very well received by Nurse Esra, she was a very affectionate and sweet nurse the whole time I was in the hospital, she was even the one who took my bag on my way out of the hospital to the taxi.
The people there are very helpful, friendly and very professional, the nursing staff, very good doctors, including the cleaning staff very friendly and polite. Not forgetting Tânia who is a wonderful and very special person, she was a great mother to me.

Bariatric Istanbul is an amazing company. I was treated with so much care. At first I was a bit nervous cause sometimes people say bad things or have a prejudice about having a surgery out of a Europe. Nothing further from the truth. I was impressed about the hospital at its wonderful staff. Both the seguridad social española and the NHS from UN would have much to envy for this cosy hospital who has willing to help staff. If you press a button a nurse will be with you within seconds. I had gastric sleeve surgery performed by Prof Dr Hüseyin Sinan. An eminence in metabolic surgery and everything went smoothly. I was traveling home safely within 4 days post op. Thank you Bariatric Instanbul and mr Yavuz for providing such excellent care.

Great team. Nurses were very kind and competent. Dr. ATILLA was amazing and checked on me every day, morning and afternoon. Tania and Beth were angels for me in there. Actually missing the place. Highly recommended..
