A delightful villa with stunning views.

To give perspective, we have been coming to Malta for decades and in recent times have rented villas to bring our 11 friends from Scotland to spend time in Gozo. This is the 4th visit. Without hesitation, this villa proved the best in various ways. To start with Baron Holiday Homes are professional to deal with. The entrance to the Hamlet is delightful with a perfect location looking north over the Gozitan countryside. The villa itself could not have been better presented. Spacious accommodation throughout and presented so well. The living accommodation is ideal for large numbers with lounge, dining room kitchen and table tennis area! As to the 2 outside and 1 inside pools! Perfect for relaxation.

It is fully equipped with everything that a group could hope for. There is even the gym and sauna that visitors to the Hamlet can benefit from.

When our group next returns to Gozo we will no longer look for extra special accommodation. We have already found it.

Accommodation is always spotless and well maintained, with all the little extras you don’t get with other property suppliers.

Mixed bag at Hamlet 1 in Gozo

We spent about 8 nights at Hamlet 1 Holiday Home in Gozo in October 2024. We generally enjoyed our stay, but for the price we would have expected everything to be in good working order, so we ended up being a bit disappointed overall. Here are some of the problems we had:

- The dishwasher trays were almost unusable because they were broken.
- There is an issue with the plumbing: Terrible smells coming intermittently from the bathtub drain.
- Even though on a sign by the pool it is stated that one should take a shower, the shower there does not work (and could not be fixed even by maintenance)
- Towards the end of our stay when exiting the bathtub after a shower the glass tray came down (I had barely touched it) onto my foot, which was very painful -- thankfully the glass didn't shatter, else it might have been much worse.
- Generally there are loads of instructions and warnings plastered all over the property, some of them quite passive aggressive (if you do not leave clean cutlery at the end of your stay you will be charged EUR 50, things like that), which makes it actually a little hard to relax!
- Be aware that the pool in October stays very cold and the pool area does not get much sun.
- The views that are shown online hide the fact that part of the view is across the parking space in front of the property; sadly, the view was one of the main reasons we chose this property, so we were quite disappointed by this.

The hosts were responsive though and maintenance was quick to fix things (air conditioning went out for a night, but was fixed the next day).

So overall a mixed bag -- at least the dishwasher issue should be fixed immediately (I have seen at least one other reviewer complaining about the same thing), as well as the smell issues. For a property of this price it can otherwise lead to disappointment.

Beautiful restored farmhouse in L-Ghasri, Gozo

We spent 6 nights at Hamlet 2 Holiday Home in Gozo in October 2024 and loved every minute of it. We had had our eye on this home for over 5 years and it fully lived up to our expectations. This restored ancient farmhouse is full of architectural charm with a wonderful sense of Gozitan history. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the pool delicious and the views from the balconies expansive and absolutely gorgeous, especially the sunsets. We'd go back in a minute. Be aware that there isn't much within walking distance, but with either a rental car (driving on the left) or using ride share (Bolt or Uber) or the local buses, it's very easy to get around. The folks at Baron Holiday Homes responded quickly to questions, including on weekends and evenings, which was much appreciated. Thank you!

From Start to finish they were a…

From Start to finish they were a pleasure to deal with.
They helped with all areas of our holiday, airport transfers and car hire as well. When 1 of our party was taken ill they arranged extended alternate accommodation and transfers very quickly dealing directly with the insurance firm. Most of all they spoke to us directly offering support and guidance instantly with a direct phone number to the guy helping us (Luke), not making spend all day doing things online and taking to multiple call centres like BA did. Would happily use there services again with complete confidence.

Great Great service

Great Great service. We stayed at Ta Rena Holiday Home in Nadur on Gozo.
A fantastic apartment. However, the ground floor felt a bit damp, and it would have been 5 stars if the kitchen had been equipped with more and better utensils and kitchen tools. Maltese waste management is a science :-), so there should have been more garbage bags.
But the staff does everything in their power to make the stay perfect. We will always choose this company where available.

Excellent properties offered by Baron Holiday Homes. The best stay we ever had in Gozo!

We had an issue with the water and Tracey from Baron Holiday Homes resolved the issue in a timely manner.

Would definitely recommend using their site to book a stay in Gozo!

High quality properties and service

We have been making use of Baron Holiday Homes for many years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their properties and the service given by their team before and during our stay whenever required. Our last stay has been at Tfiefa Holiday Home. Only concern is security due to low wall at back of pool which is level with a field and we also had to be on constant lookout for our dog so she would not jump over. However property still highly recommended as it offers
great views.

Stunning

What a beautiful property with stunning sunrises and sunsets from both the balcony and the pool. We had an amazing time and the hosts were lovely and helpful even with last minute special requests. 10 minutes from everything in a car and a great vibe all throughout the property. Not up to scratch for the cost of the villa

Unfortunately our villa called Oleander on the island of Gozo didn't come up to expectations for reviews previously written. Maybe we were just unlucky that the villa hadn't been inspected post cleaning to our arrival and certain important things like client safety had been overlooked. Sadly, at that time, our family were grieving the loss of a beloved mother/grandmother and didn't want to make a fuss at the time of our stay. I agree that a complaint should have been raised at the time of our stay to allow Baron Holidays to rectify the issues raised. However, that does not detract from that fact the villa was not on par with reviews. Firstly, there is no sign above a low archway leading to a bedroom which my husband forgot to bend to walk through and managed to nearly scalp himself leaving him with a deep cut on his head. The shower curtain was very smelly and brown at the bottom. The shower waste was loose and floating away once water built up. The shower mixer taps in 2 of the bedrooms were unpredictable either scalding hot or cold despite making adjustments to try and find a safe temperature. There are no mozzie nets on any windows and we were bitten during the night. The cleaner forgot to clean the front of the kitchen doors and there were greasy finger marks. Much of the internal furniture and fittings had seen better days. Yes the villa is 'rustic' but it shouldn't be rusty, bathroom fitting, double bed, fridge to name but a few. The swimming pool central filter had been broken leaving a hole which my foot went into. Finally, outside the villa around the parking area was lots of dog mess. Not pleasant to see on first arrival. I did write to Baron on return to the UK to point out the issues found but rather than take this onboard and write an assurance that the villa would be inspected and the issues raised rectify we were offered a 10% discount on our next booking (no thank you) instead. This doesn't bode well with me. I have been a holiday home rental owner and worked for holiday companies and would have been horrified if my clients arrived to a villa with the above issues.

We are also sorry about your husband injury, however this a typical restored farmhouse and we cannot do much about the archway. We wish you could have mentioned that the pool sump cover was put back in place by our poolman.

Regarding the cleanliness issues and the condition of the furnishings, we sincerely apologize. We strive to ensure that all of our properties are thoroughly inspected before each guest’s arrival, and it seems that on this occasion, we fell short.

Your concerns about the shower, kitchen, and furniture have been noted, and we are addressing these with our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure improvements are made.

As for the dog mess in the parking area, we fully understand how unpleasant that must have been, especially upon arrival, and we will ensure that this area is regularly monitored and cleaned moving forward.

Spacious holiday home

First stay at this property, having enjoyed many holidays with Baron Homes. The house was in a quiet neighbourhood, with parking outside property. It was a short walk to the village and a doable walk to the beach.
Very spacious house and good sized pool. Plenty of seating areas and balconies to enjoy.
