Another BARR scam website

Another BARR scam website, they have paid advertising on Facebook and are scamming unsuspecting people’s credit card details and make fraudulent transactions. AVOID these BARR pages and advertisements on Facebook offering cheap cases of soda

Why is Facebook running this advert???

I fell for this scam after seeing the ad on facebook! it seemed legit, and i have never fallen for anything like this before. Luckily, my bank caught it and no payment was taken from my card even though i received order confirmation. When i realised no money was taken i went to take a look at the site again and noticed then how dodgy it looks. Since nothing was taken from my account i didn't think anything of it but my bank contacted me to let me know someone had tried to add my details to apple pay. I had to get a new bank card.

Just frustrating that Facebook is still running this ad after so many people must have reported it by now!

When no postage was added, it alerted me to the possibility. Obviously they want to keep your total to under £5 to slip it through.

SCAM SITE

SCAM SITE, DO NOT CLICK

I came across this ad for a company posing as BARR soft drinks. Although it seemed too good to be true, the website appeared legit, well legit enough to fool someone. Usually I am pretty vigilant with these things. But they caught me off guard.

They were selling products really cheap and they used tactics to rush you through the site, using buzz words like 'hot' and '-67%'.

I went through to the payment site, stupidly gave them my address and payment details from my card. Once the payment had been processed, I noticed how the website design was slightly off, one that had been slapped together on WordPress.

As soon as I realized this, I freezed my card and rang the fraud activity helpline of my bank. They stressed to me, that you should always check that the url looks legitimate and the price checks out with the price on their actual website. Some of the photos they used was slightly pixelated too, which is clearly taken from google images.

After calling them, the fraudster had taken my account details and setup apple pay with it. Luckily I was fast enough to stop my account and request a new card. So look out for ad like this!

I came across a Facebook advert on my mobile selling 24 Barr soft drinks cans for £1.99. I clicked on the website and realised that the site is in fact a WordPress website which has very clearly and slyly been set up to fool consumers. I almost fell prey to it myself but it seemed too good to be true and the website itself just didn't look legitimate.

These scammers have already fooled unsuspecting victims and extracted their debit card details from them as evidenced by a page on trust pilot linked to this fake website. They are masquerading as Barr and the website would easily fool those who aren't savvy enough to detect its fraudulent nature. This site has been online since July 2024 and it is still stinging innocent consumers. Facebook clearly haven't stopped advertising this site despite it being a blatant scam. It needs taking down before others fall prey to its odious scheme.

Facebook scam

Facebook scam. Advert for 24 cans for for £1.99. The transaction didn't go through on the 'Barr' website but someone has just tried to take quite a lot of money out of my bank account. I've cancelled my card and ordered a new one. Be careful because the FB ad looks legit.

It’s a credit card scam

WARNING Barrsoftdrinks.online is a Fake Website

This is a credit card scam - the fraudsters take your credit card details from the payment page on this website then try to add them to a burner phone via Apple or Google Pay but they can’t do this without the activation code your bank texts you to add a new device to your payment wallet.
This is the code the fraudsters ask you to type onto the payment page to complete your order. Thankfully my bank blocked my card.

Big fat scammers

Big fat scammers. I clicked a link on Facebook for 1.99 cans of drinks. Got a notification about Apple Pay. Next day my bank called me about fraud from somewhere in South Africa. They basically stole my details and were trying to spend on my card.
