Disappointed in William Wong Sales Agent

I am deeply disappointed in William Wong - real estate agent of Ringwood. Not only is he unable to speak English fluently, he even yelled at me loudly, rudely and arrogantly over the phone when I was providing him with feedback. This reflects upon his mentality, manners, character and low levels of professionalism and competence.

William Wong asked me to build a walk-in robe in a room which I disagreed with, because this is an unnecessary hefty expense. When the renovation company (which William Wong recommended) damaged the grass at the common area shared with neighbours (which he was clearly aware that it was damaged by the renovation company), he told me to incur costs to fix it by myself. This does not make sense, which shows that he is not acting in the best interest of the property owner and I asked the renovation company to fix it. I wanted the outdoor deck to be free of shoe stains but William Wong said he cannot stop potential buyers from walking on the deck with shoes. This is ridiculous, which I raised with other sales agents and they confirmed that what I wanted is easily doable and very common, which is to put a sign to inform potential buyers.

What William Wong yelled at me loudly: which shows his inability to accept feedback from clients:
- I am not your slave!
- I am disappointed!
- You should be grateful to me!

I am so glad I changed my sales agent because I do not trust William Wong. I don’t have such distressing issues with another sales agent.

Barry Plant couldn’t care less about you

I lodged a formal complaint with Barry Plant head office after selling my apartment at G08/8 Bond Street, Ringwood through Barry Plant Ringwood.

I provided detailed evidence showing why I believe my property sold for significantly less than it should have. My apartment sold for $387,000. Ten days later, the neighbouring apartment—smaller, with a smaller courtyard and in poorer condition—sold for $412,000.

Based on the comparable sales and the evidence I supplied, I believe I lost at least $25,000, and potentially much more.

I provided Barry Plant head office with documentation, text messages, and a detailed explanation of my concerns. Their response was simply to ask the local agents for their version of events. The agents denied doing anything wrong, and Barry Plant closed the matter without offering any meaningful explanation, accountability, or resolution.

As a single woman in financial difficulty, the sale of my apartment was one of the most important financial transactions of my life. I trusted the Barry Plant brand to protect my interests.

Instead, I was left feeling that my concerns were dismissed and that the company had no interest in investigating the matter properly or standing behind its own brand.

If Barry Plant head office is responsible for overseeing its franchise network, then in my opinion it should also be willing to take responsibility when a client presents compelling evidence that they have suffered a substantial financial loss.

My experience left me with the impression that, once commissions are paid, customer concerns are treated as an inconvenience rather than something to be taken seriously.

I am extremely disappointed with the way Barry Plant handled my complaint and would not place my trust in the company again. 0 stars

Jarrod Pearce is the most responsible agent

Jarrod Pearce is the most responsible, professional, and understanding real estate agent I have ever met. He provided me with tremendous support during my rental process. Even when I felt anxious and helpless at times, he was always there to guide me, patiently explain everything, and help me find solutions.

I truly don’t know how to fully express my gratitude for all his help. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to rent a property — he is genuinely dedicated and outstanding at what he does.

If I could give this rating a negative I would

If I could give this rating a negative, trust me I would!! Barry Plant Belmont real estate have got to be the worst real estate i've ever dealt with. Brett Walker is my property manager. He never responds to my emails and is always extremely rude. He can try and blame it on personality clashes but this is far from the case. You would think someone who "claims to have 34 years experience in the industry" would have a clear understanding of the law. He continues to ignore several VCAT and Consumer affairs orders. He has received 6 breach of duty notices for breaking the law and I've had to have 5 VCAT hearings all within the last 12 months because he refuses to do any repairs:
My advice: STAY CLEAR!!!!!

Barry Plant Bundoora - Ask for Leanne!

Absolutely outstanding experience with Leanne from Barry Plant Bundoora!

From start to finish, Leanne was an absolute godsend in helping sell my parents’ home. Her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and genuine care made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and supported.

Leanne’s professionalism and dedication shone through in every interaction — from her clear communication and strategic advice to her incredible local knowledge and trusted connections. Nothing was ever too much trouble; she went above and beyond, even helping with the most random requests with a smile and a “leave it with me” attitude.

If you’re looking to sell or rent in the Bundoora area, don’t look anywhere else — Leanne is the only agent you should consider. Her warmth, integrity, and results speak for themselves.

Thank you, Leanne, for your outstanding service and kindness — you’re truly one of a kind.

BE AWARE of Barry Plant South Barwon

BE AWARE of BARRY PLANT on High St Belmont, this insidious franchise and the deceitful behaviour from one of their perfidious agents Haxhi Abedin. Do not engage with this individual whatsoever his deceitful attitude at first will give you the normal fabricated recommendations of what he can do for you and his qualifications, when in fact he will intentionally deceive and mislead you that he will do everything to sell your property when in fact under performs and misleads you into a false sense of security in attempting to sell your property. Then when Haxhi is uncovered, he then attempts to associate one the principals of Barry Plant on High street, Belmont whom deceitfully wouldn’t divulge his real name, he calls himself Chari ? Chari will then condescend you and deceitfully start to being verbose and will not let you speak until you let him try to sell your property and with the same underperforming consistent incompetence as Haxhi Abedin, Chari will do nothing to sell your property and intentionally mislead you again into a false sense that he will sell your property. Then after your contract has hit its due date and Chari is uncovered that he hasn’t and couldn’t sell your property they then send you an invoice for their incompetent marketing campaign.
Barry Plant on High Street, Belmont Geelong is a perfidious agency to definitely Do Not Contact whatsoever. Be Aware!!!
