Using Blackpool Driving School to become an ADI

I chose Blackpool Driving School (BDS) as my trainer and sponsor for my ADI Part 2 and Part 3 tests and I'm so glad I did as I passed both first time!!

I think the main reason for choosing BDS was because there was no contract or tie in period at all, unlike the national schools and franchises.

My journey started with a meeting with the manager of BDS, the lovely Donna, and she explained fully the process of becoming an ADI. No sales pitch. Just honest information.
All of my training was 1 to 1 training in car.
Other training providers have a lot of online content or watching videos instead of actual in car training!

The above is a review of my experience of training to become an ADI. Hard work but also fun. Very professional.

Since qualifying I have opted to remain part of the BDS team, paying a weekly fee (franchise) for introductions and my diary is full. I am not tied into any contract.

BDS is a great team of experienced ADIs supporting newcomers.

The Best

I have been an instructor for 20 years, the last 5 with BDS. I have worked with many driving schools including small, national and have also been independent. I can honestly say that BDS is the best school I have ever worked with. The support from Donna at the office is fantastic. No shortage of work and Donna is always quick to reply to any calls or messages. The BDS team of instructors work together, with the lend of a car if mine is off the road unexpectedly or a mock test with a different instructor if needed. It really is a great team. Apart from becoming a driving instructor, joining BDS is the best decision I have ever made.

Amazing from start to finish

After initially signing up with one of the "bigger" companies i contacted Donna to ask her for help as I had been looking at becoming a driving instructor for several years.
I was a truck driver for 16 years prior but i wanted to spend more time at home with my family.
Being a local school it only seemed right i used them
I wasn't disappointed. Paul my instructor made room for me and fitted me in to both his and my availability. We got on like a house on fire and i consider him not only as my instructor/mentor but also as my friend now.
All training is 1:1 no car sharing. Real hands-on training unlike other companies that offer virtual training and 3:1 in car training.
Donna and Paul have been a wealth of knowledge and support that i continue to tap into and use daily!
Thanks for everything.

My best time with BDS driving school

Hi my name is Norrie. (now retired)
I past as a driving instructor in 2004. I worked for a few years teaching then gave up.
When i moved to Fleetwood in 2014 I was thinking about starting again.
Once I had decided to start, I shopped around to find the best driving school.
BDS stood out from them all. So I made an appointment to see them.
When i arrived they made me feel so welcome and went through everything. With teaching before it was really a refresher to get me back on track and all the new things I had learn. Even at this stage I was never being pushed into signing anything until I was 100% it was what I wanted.
Well I did sign and it was the best decision I made.
BDS did everything they said they would and more. They were there for me when ever I need them.
I was given other instructors numbers so I could contact them with any concerns and was able to sit in on lessons so I could watch how they taught the pupils. They were also very friendly and made me welcome.
I found working with BDS was brilliant and like an extended family.
Unfortunately I had to stop working after 4yrs with them but had the best time. However I am still in contact with them and still feel part of the team
