Spent $150 on a Beddley duvet
Spent $150 on a Beddley duvet. I like the three-sided zipper and the softness, but the fabric is extremely thin. After just one week of normal use, small holes (likely from a cat claw or dryer stress) turned into large tears.
Beddley responded that the duvet is made from a finely woven cotton sateen designed for comfort and luxury, and said this was not a manufacturing defect, so returns were not accepted. (Be sure to read the return policy carefully — it’s very restrictive.)
They offered a 30% discount on a future purchase, but that doesn’t make sense given the durability issue. I wouldn’t expect a $150 duvet to fail this quickly.
If you have pets or children, I would not recommend this product.
Edit: In response to Beddley's claim of durability - I have owned/still do own numerous duvet covers while living with a cat, and none have torn in this way, and so quickly. While I understand the explanation provided, my experience suggests the fabric is unusually delicate, and that context may be useful for shoppers deciding whether this product suits their home.
