Goog communication, great service and product (especially considering the price)

Super happy with the experience. The bike is changing my way of living the city. But I need an app. I want to check my battery. Is there any compatible with the latest c500? And if so, how can I check chargers and miles?

The selection of my new e-bike was not easily made. I searched for quite some time to find the most excellent quality at a trustworthy company within my budget. The previous reviews for Beeq live up to my own experience. The contact was excellent from the beginning. I test rode the bike at a partner store in Lisbon. Ok, it's an hour drive from my home but it was important for me to see and ride the bike. All of my general questions were answered. Because I wanted some extra accessoires, I got a telephone call from Barbara in Sales to go through what I wanted. The time given to process the order, payment and delivery was exactly as she advised. After delivery I had a few new questions and was quickly in touch with the Service person. He answered all of my questions and I was very happy to have a real human being help me out. The frame, motor and components from this Portugal based company are excellent. After my first rides I'm very happy with this bike and purchasing experience. Highly recommend !

I’m a United States citizen who plans to move to Portugal. During the COVID lockdown, I purchased two BEEQ E800 bicycles made by the Portuguese bicycle manufacturer RTE to use in Portugal. In July of 2021, I was finally able to travel to Portugal and try out the E800s I had bought, and since then I have been impressed.

The E800 is handsomely and robustly built with a hydro-formed aluminum step-trhough frame, double walled heavy duty wheels with Presto valves, and substantial Continental tires with a knobby tread. It has hydraulic brakes, a good electric lighting system, plus a solid rear rack that accepts clip-on attachments such as panniers and the like. On the E800 I purchased,, the pedaling is assisted by a powerful mid-mount aluminum-housed Brose S motor rated at 90nm of torque. The motor is rated at 250w and and can only assist pedaling when the bicycle is traveling at speeds of 25 kph (15.5 mph) or less. These limitations keep the Ebike within European and Portuguese regulations allowing unlicensed operation of pedal-assisted bicycles. Of course the bike can go faster than this if a person is particularly athletic and capable of pedaling the E800 without motor assistance at higher speeds, or when descending a steep hill. It is also possible to ride the bicycle with the motor disengaged, which may prove useful when trying to conserve the battery or after the battery has been depleted, though the weight of the E800 (28kg or 62 pounds) means that it is difficult to operate on hilly terrain without the motor. The battery is an articulated “snake” battery which fits inside a locked compartment inside the down tube.

The bike has proven invaluable for getting around the Porto metropolitan area. It is particularly good at climbing hills I would otherwise not be able to conquer due to my weight and age. I use the BEEQ E800 to ride into Porto, which involves descending and ascending a number of steep hills. I also periodically enjoy using the ebike to visit the Atlantic beaches south and north of Porto.

Additionally, I have transported the E800 on Comboios de Portugal trains in order to tour the Minho region in the North of Portugal, the Douro River close to Spain, as well as Leiria District and the Sintra area. It is great fun ascending scenic mountain roads in these areas and then descending on switchback roads.

After using the Ebike on a couple of these trips involving mountain riding, I decided to replace the stock front brake (which is decent but more suited city riding without extreme inclines) with a Shimano Saint hydraulic disk brake. This has improved braking on steep descents significantly. I purchased the new brake myself, but had it installed by BEEQ’s maintenance and repair crew, who also performed some other repairs and adjustments necessary after a lot of riding. At least in my area, the nearby RTE factory has a van which will pick up the bike and transport it to the factory for this purpose. The repair and maintenance costs were quite reasonable. I have found the BEEQ customer service to be very attentive, friendly and useful.

The one complaint I do have about the BEEQ E800 is that the configuration in which I bought it is no longer available. An almost identical bike (the E800 Light) is available with a significantly less powerful (50nm) motor, which of course cannot perform as well on steep inclines. BEEQ’s M500 mountain Ebike and C800 trekking model are equipped with the Brose S 90nm motor, but both of these have derailleurs, and don’t have step-through frames. Over the years, I’ve grown to prefer internally geared hubs due to their durability and lesser need for maintenance, and the step-through frame better accommodates my sometimes stiff limbs. I also think it would be a good idea for BEEQ to offer upgrades to a Shimano Saint brakes (or equivalent brakes designed for mountain use) as an option. I also wish BEEQ would offer a continuously variable transmission like the Enviolo/Nuvinci hub as well as a Gates carbon fiber belt drive, but you can’t have everything at BEEQ’s very reasonable price points.

I am very impressed with the value and quality of the BEEQ line, as well as the good will, service and character of the company.

Everything went as expected. Delivered on time, everything working perfectly since the beginning, zero issues up until now. The bicycle is super comfortable for me and for the trips do in the city and in the city parks.

After 500km I can express my total satisfaction about this bicycle. All my doubts were clarified promptly by the brand manager I met in an event in a local bike shop, and my order was placed quickly after that, with a few extra options like the upgraded Brose motor of 90nm and a suspension fork. Super nice service from BEEQ people, very helpful!

I'm carrying my 22kg child everyday to school and have to climb quite a steep hill, and it makes it very easy!
Autonomy is excellent, I've tried it on relatively flat "ecopista" in Torres Vedras and i still had 47% battery after 56km - i rode in Eco or Tour mode.

I had a flat tire once in the back wheel and it was very easy to remove the wheel, thanks to the disc brake and easy NEXUS cable to unlock.

I am very satisfied with the service and the bike is amazing.
