Absolutely wonderful tour of the quarry caves led by Gill our guide. Interesting and informative my 8 year old was fascinated. Went during a heatwave so was fantastic to cool down as well.
Did Mikes tour with our 3 kids today ages 4, 6 and 9. He made it fun and interesting for all, interacted with all kids in the group, answered questions. The tour was fun and interesting throughout. Lasted about 1 hr 30, saw 3 bats. Good any weather activity.
Mike was a great guide and despite several problems with the other visitors he kept going. There were children with issues that weren’t their fault but the carers were inattentive and seemingly unaware of the difficulties of hearing a speaker in an echoing cave when there are other noises. Also, perhaps it might be better if dogs were not allowed on the tour as the two that came together gave further problems.
I don’t know how Mike kept going but he was informative, professional and calm throughout. He deserves a medal!
A really interesting place. It’s the third time we’ve been over many years and we still hear new information every time. Would recommend for families, adults, but not dogs.
