Stay Away from Before Eight Music Promotion
Before Eight Music Promotion turned out to be a total disappointment. In the end, I discovered they are nothing but scammers. I initially read about their paid service, which included playlist placements supposedly managed by curators they claimed to have long-standing relationships with. Although the high price made me skeptical, I decided to give it a try, especially since they boasted about a partnership with GEMA, the German performance rights organization. That gave me some confidence, but I should never have trusted them.
I paid €328 for placements in playlists with a total reach of 200,000 followers. After a few days, they sent me an initial report claiming the track was added to six playlists, covering half of the budget, along with a few "reviews" that seemed completely random and fake.
The most ridiculous part? Using Songstats, I discovered the track had already been in those playlists for over 10 days, thanks to a different marketing service I had used earlier. When I reported this to them, they initially apologized and promised to verify. Later, they requested access to my Spotify for Artists account for further checks. Despite granting access, nothing changed after several days.
I sent additional screenshots to confirm my suspicions, but I received no satisfactory response. Finally, I warned them that if they didn’t refund my money, I would start posting negative reviews everywhere and involve GEMA for their misuse of the name. After that, I heard nothing further from them.
Stay away from Before Eight Music Promotion. They are impostors and scammers. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
