Terrible airport
Not much of an airport. Hardly any seats. Even the cafes and bars were crowded.
Hell hole
Hell hole, ridiculous staff who make everything difficult and miles to walk, like purgatory.
Over an hour for baggage reclaim
Over an hour for baggage reclaim. Food in departures is overpriced lukewarm garbage.
Grubby Shithole
Grubby. Worst airport I have been through, bar small local town airports in America. Parking is £90 per week. Well over 1000+ spaces with the car park full. That 90k a week or more. Its unstaffed and and half tarmacked. Fences are rusted and old. Has no smoking area causing people to smoke in the toilets. They are stinking and smell of smoke due to the lack of smoking facilities. Although it's had a part revamp it's clear its still a 1970s shithole underneath. People are clearly skimming all the profits from this main airport for this country and reinvesting as little as possible.
Worst airport
I recently traveled through Belfast International Airport and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
From the start, the bag drop process was frustrating — long queues and indifferent staff. I asked if I could have my boarding passes printed (I had four on my phone) to make things easier as I’m heavily pregnant, but was bluntly told, “No, just use your phone.” This made security more complicated and stressful.
Although security queues weren’t too long, the lane setup was confusing — more like a maze — which led to people skipping sections just to avoid unnecessary walking. Staff began shouting at passengers, sarcastically telling us to “get your steps up,” which felt extremely rude and unprofessional, especially considering that many people were clearly struggling. As someone heavily pregnant, I found the lack of consideration and support appalling.
The airport itself was uncomfortably hot with no air conditioning. It was overcrowded, dirty, and had nowhere near enough seating for the number of passengers. I waited over 20 minutes to use the women’s toilets, and the disabled toilet wouldn’t open even after pressing the buzzer — with no staff around to help.
Staff working in food outlets seemed overwhelmed and were dealing with a lot of frustration from customers, which isn’t fair on them. The gate number wasn’t announced until just 20 minutes before departure, which again made things very difficult for me physically. When we got to the gate, the boarding process felt rushed and chaotic — we were herded through with no patience or care.
The walk to the aircraft was extremely long and, in my condition, almost unbearable. There was no one around to ask for assistance, and I was in severe pain by the time I boarded.
Overall, this was one of the most stressful airport experiences I’ve had. For an international airport, the facilities, cleanliness, and basic customer service are well below standard. I sincerely hope changes are made — especially to support passengers with additional needs or mobility issues.
Security are a joke
Security are a joke. Ignorance must be in the job description. Totally disrespectful to all making any holiday or trip get off to the worst start. Would prefer any other airports over these incompetent beings. A little pleasantness goes a long way.
Belfast international kitchen cafe
Arrived at their kitchen cafe, 30mins waiting for food (although the sign says 15 mins), only one person waiting on and she was using robot to deliver. Absolute chaos, dirty dishes. Tables full of used plates, cups, etc. no one cleaning up This place should be shut down
A disgrace of an airport
A disgrace of an airport. Queues for bag drop out into the car park, no travellators, just endless steps & long walks, no tunnels to embark or disembark aircraft & the have to wait HOURS on your luggage!
Complete rip off prices in shops, no staff to be seen, dirty toilets. Sack the GM & get a new architect to design a more accessible airport. It’s the 21st century!

Luggage reclaim needs work
Waited for over an hour and a half on our luggage to find the cases were all soaking wet meaning the bags had obviously sitting outside the whole time . Those who are loading and unloading need to get their act together. Other airports with 30 belts have cases out in no time. Tried to speak to staff who were standing beside us didn’t want to know. They said there is nothing they could do. I tried to call customer services but no joy either. This meant I was late for an onward engagement. Disgraceful.
Beyond outdated airport with the most…
Beyond outdated airport with the most rude staff. Always waiting for luggage for far too long, any other airport I’ve been too never take as long as Belfast International.
Extortion
Extortion. Financial rape. Dirty. Flies everywhere. Simply disgusting.

When returning from holiday you always have to wait 60 to 90 minutes for your baggage to be placed on the carousel.
Very poor service GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
International airport my xxxx
This place may be getting refurbished but it's still a joke, you now when returning get put on a shuttle for a twenty second drive to arrivals then climb stairs to get in and wait and wait for luggage.
Check in thanks to your staff member Ciara
Just want to say a very big thankyou to Ciara who was a huge help to our group Armagh yesterday in our check in for Lourdes She was so helpful and attentive to all of the group. A great asset to Belfast airport
We were travelling into Belfast…
We were travelling into Belfast International airport on the 16-4-52. Our party consisted of a 11 year old in her own wheel chair, and a lady in her seventies with severe walking difficulties. After being assisted from the plane and left to make our own way to the baggage reclaim, we were again contacted at the baggage reclaim and assisted to another part of the airport where we were left and told that another member of the team would be along to take us further, no one appeared. We were completely abandoned there in a part of the airport, with no assistance, not knowing where to go and no means of getting any assistance. In the twenty minutes or so we were there we saw no other members of staff to make inquiries from. The assistance provided at this airport for mobility customers is deplorable; someone should be held responsible for such awful treatment.
were travelling to Edinburgh on…
We were travelling to Edinburgh on Friday 4th April. We were a party of five and two of the party were using Special assistance. Two in the party were pushing the wheelchairs and I stayed with them, as I usually do. There never was any problem with this before. However, a very rude female member of staff turned me away and said I couldn't stay with the rest of the party. This has never been a problem, before. She was very rude. She was in her thirties, with long ,blonde ,curly hair tied in a ponytail. On our return ,we were talking to a lady ,whose husband was also using special assistance and she said the same member of staff was very cheeky to her. This person needs trained in people skills or she won't last too long in the job.
Disappointed and left feeling…
Disappointed and left feeling embarrassed yet again with security. My husband has mobility issues because of a stroke and we have been told on numerous occasions by staff to use the assisted lane at security. There is a particular young man who has on other occasions told us not to use that lane . I insisted we were instructed to do so and he reluctantly said sorry mate go ahead, this is unacceptable after calling out go to the other lane 😡 in front of a crowd of other passengers. He’s a jobs worth who needs to sit back and take stock of a situation . Rest of security officers were polite and helpful. He needs to be trained and learn manners
Allow 30m more than you expect for security
Massive wait after being forced to pointlessly walk hundreds of meters up and down the queue barriers due to excessive testosterone security. I saw two burly security men gang up for 15 minutes on a mother travelling with a sick infant for having orange squash to wash down medication with.
Security part is the worst
Security part is the worst. Awful queues and also you will have to remove nearly all the clothes at the Security Check. Airport management should travel more to the advanced countries to get ideas on how to manage the Airport more efficiently.
