Disgusting toilets
Arrived into Belfast International Airport. Once again they never fail with their disgusting toilets that smells of pee (ladies). Have travelled to many countries and these are the poorest I have experienced.
Third world airport
Third world airport. Dirty tired and not at all welcoming. Go to Dublin
Not for the faint hearted.
Walk to the shuttle bus was very, very long and extremely treacherous in the dark ,after the trek we waited for ages in the cold for the shuttle where the Grinch driver watched my wife and I (both pensioners) struggle to load our cases into the bus and then took off like Louis Hamilton (Vrooooom) before I was properly seated. Don't know why? he was in no hurry to lift us in the first place . Pay a couple of quid extra, save the hike and use the friendly set down service of McCausland's next door!
Belfast International as taken a clean…
Belfast International as taken a clean 180 and I like it! Definitely the most enjoyable airport security experiences of my life. The security area has expanded not only outwards but upwards in terms of space. The new scanners are sexy AF and staff don’t look as angry as they used to which is HOT! No longer required to remove the oul liquids n laptops which is dreamy. I would usually direct visitors to George Best City Airport for the obvious reasons but after this delightful experience today, I would consider personally chauffeuring everyone and anyone to Aldergrove just so they can experience what I just did.
1hour 30 minute wait for luggage to arrive.
We have just returned from Greece 30/8/24. Outbound, credit where it’s due with a great new security process.
Inbound is a different experience altogether, and one which was extremely unpleasant having to spend 1hour 30minutes waiting for baggage.
I have raised my concerns with BFS directly and was really pleased to be met with a very quick, courteous and candid response. The matter actually falls to the handling agents who I will contact directly.
Although it doesn’t fix the situation, the customer service team were very good and I’m heartened that they take these matters seriously.
Previously 2stars. Now 4 for being responsive and honest with your customers!
Security great, baggage reclaim poor
Well security on the way out is now excellent, unfortunately waiting for bags to arrive on the conveyor still seems to happen by horse and cart via one solitary worker, please do these hard working staff a favour and employ more staff to help them as they are obviously short staffed?? Poor and so far behind every other Airport everywhere having to wait over 1 hour?? after a nearly 5hr flight at 0400 in the morning, they need to drop the 'International Airport' name and go with 'Regional' no wonder Dublin Airport is preferred by many over this local Aerodrome, having travelled through numerous Airports in the world, I have to also point out the total lack of transport to anywhere but Belfast, or from Belfast to the Airport, which is 20+ miles from the airport, and either a bus, or an over priced taxi fare.
Modern Day throw back to 70’s nitemare !
Hey let’s walk up into the main shopping mall and turn a corner only to be greeted by a cheap mini Las Vegas on cheap opioids.. I mean really rave music on a Wednesday night !!Please management get real . There is no quiet space even if you move to the trendy named ‘Northern Qtr ‘.
Worst advertisement for Northern Ireland .. at least the “troubles tour” had a good ending .
absolutely bloody disgraceful
me and my gang were trying to get our luggage into check-in, but the queue was disgustingly long. there was only one worker for the majority of the time and our flight was due in 15 minutes.
terrible customer service
me and my homies were very disappointed and angry as we were excited to go to Ireland for the first time but we were hugely let down. that airport is a complete utter disgrace.
Arrived at Belfast after three hour flight
Arrived at Belfast after three hour flight, I thought it would be an easy airport to get through so I could sit down and have a drink after security, I was so wrong. Followed signs to security, then realised I had to check in my bag but did not see a sign to check in so asked staff, told me where to go. We (my family and I) arrived at check in. ONE STAFF MEMBER AND A HUGE QUEUE. Eventually, someone else came but it was no good it took too long. Arrived at check in at 17:30, left about 18:30. We rushed to security and asked someone if we could skip because our gate was closing in 10 mins. They said no, should have arrived 2hrs before. WE DID. we asked people if we could skip because our gate was closing, and they were kind enough to let us skip. Long story short we got to our flight in time NO THANKS TO THE STAFF
Same s*** different day
Same s*** different day. Morning flight, arrived on time, as suggested by airline. Still managed to miss flight due to incompetent staff at baggage and security. There was clearly a problem at security on 16.08.24 and rather than do the right thing and call people forward in flight order, security staff stand around gormless and refusing passengers through who were trying to make their flight. I will be making an official complaint.

Shambles
Firstly i have never written a review or felt the need to for an airport . I fully appreciate this will make no difference, but at least i have vented .
We have flown in and out of Belfast numerous times . The airport was filthy , bins over flowing (15.00hrs) the bin was stinking , floors / toilets a disgrace . A rather scruffy mitie man walking around taking pictures of the rubbish and then went off to get a poor girl to clean ( she was here when we arrived Friday, seemed the only person working) perhaps if he put his camera down and helped it would of been more beneficial.
I flown in and out of busier airports and they never look like today’s experience.
Not the airport directs fault but the most miserable easy jet staff . The Northern QTR needs to teach there staff to wipe tables not just clear
All in all a shambles . Wouldn’t stop me visiting NI aa we have family here .
Monday morning 8.20 - shambolic
Monday morning 8.20 - check in a complete shambles. No system. Queued until after 10am and then straight to gate for a flight to Stansted. Thankfully security was fast and flight was fine. Only three staff checking hoards of people in (1 was dealing with priority customers) and people were being called forward to skip the queue - in no particular order - so that ground staff could check travellers in in order of departure time. Not helpful when flights scheduled so closely together around 10.30am. People in the queue felt for the desk staff. A simple remedy would have been to double the staff at such a busy time. Family using this airport for 50 years - probably have to look elsewhere now for outgoing flights. Belfast City airport - from anecdotal evidence - appears to operate with much greater efficiency.
I avoid Belfast International at all…
I avoid Belfast International at all costs. However, I had to use it yesterday coming from London, Gatwisk. Same old problem. Arrived very late last night and waited over 45 minutes to get our baggage. Just like the last time, and the time before. Noone about to seek help from. Awful customer service.
Avoid this airport. Use Dublin or the City.
Bag arrival usual delays in Belfast International
Same old story every time we fly but this morning was exceptional brutal. Early morning flight from Turkey so up all night travelling with a young family everything was fantastic till you hit Belfast and the dreaded bag arrival area. Without failure it is always the longest wait. This morning it took 1hr 15mins for our bags to come off the plane. Absolutely no body about to ask what was happening. It's just not good enough!! If there is an issue it would be good manners to inform your customers what the problem is.
Discriminatory airport
Discriminatory airport. Had Special Assistance with my flight. The man at the SA desk (easyjet) was barely audible. A series of grunts, an abrupt attitude and a poor command of the English despite him having a NI accent. Really dire customer service even without considering that I am autistic and require people to speak slowly, clearly and in a way that explains things. This bloke did none of those things. He did manage to get our bags checked in early which was a huge help but other than that a disgrace.
Going through the hand luggage and scan was stressful as the staff there were very unhelpful and miserable. The young lad stood against the body scanner did not even have the manners or decency to even speak to me or instruct me to walk through. He just stared at me and made a hand gesture for me to walk forward. Disgusting and unacceptable customer service, let alone support for an autistic customer. He should be dismissed from his post with immediate affect.
It appears compulsory for most males under the age of 25 to wear some sort of Northern Irish football shirt in this airport.
Toilets were OK but then started getting clogged up and filthy later on in the day as morons who can't seem to go to an airport and get to their destination BEFORE they start boozing were frequent users.
Only one RADAR key toilet too which is unacceptable.
Our flight was delayed and then we were all invited to go to our gate where effectively we were all kettled into a tiny area and held in there like battery chickens.
Horrendous dealing with this situation as an autistic person.
Finally, we boarded the plane and then had to sit around some absolute meatheads from an building company who couldn't communicate with one another without every other word being an expletive.
Horror show from start to finish and I won't be flying to Belfast ever again nor using Easyjet.
The CEO of BIA oversees rampant discrimination of disabled people.
Worlds worst ‘international’ airport
This is the worst airport I have ever been in in the world. From the shambolic, disorganised security to the lack of seating, no TVs showing the Olympics (meant to be international remember), filthy toilets, and lack of transport links, it really lets the country down. Anyone giving this place more than 1 star has been paid to or works in it!

The whole experience was a bag of faeces. Not got the time, energy or inclination to go into further detail.
Very very poor service. Not International standards. An hour wait at baggage drop as the…
An hour wait at baggage drop as the belt stopped working. This appears to be a regular occurance. NO backup. Security is obsolete. I was taken aside for frisk search - all clear. My hand lugage was then taken off the scanner and left on the floor. No explanation. Had to ask for my bag and was told there was only one person on duty who could deal with it. He was in no hurry. Bag was then swabed and when I asked I was told it was not for drugs but no explanation given. Sent back to be frisked again at the embarrasment of the person doing it. All contents taken out of my bag and two small cable ties removed as they could be used to restrain someone!!! When I asked about people wearing belts they did not have an answer. Took half an hour to go through security after being delayed an hour at baggage drop. Burger King had two drinks dispensers one didn't work and the other did not work properly. Flight delayed because the catering truck had not arrived. On return had to wait almost an hour to get our baggage. ONLY TWO flights had landed. Belfast is NOT an International airport. Flew back through Rhodes airport with NO issues.
I would appreciate a detailed response from Belfast International Airport!!
