Finally after being given two different delivery dates my order has arrived. It looks to have been packaged really well but the packaging has been damaged during transit an we have found some damage but the whole process has taken so long it is not worth trying to contacting bench slats.
Don't think we'll use them again.

Avoid at all costs! This company is beyond useless. I’m waiting 5 weeks for an order, emailed 4-5 times. No responses. I get a response at 1am a couple weeks later saying they are a little behind and they’ll ship this week (they haven’t).

I’ve raised a dispute with AMEX and this company *still* hasn’t done anything.

Totally inept customer service too.

Still waiting for update on delivery even though promised delivery was for Monday 22nd July, then promised Wednesday 24th. Young lady who answers the phone says she will get back to us with update and never phones back.
I am still chasing and waiting for updates, shocking service!

After a delay with our order, Jade sorted things out and got our order out to us on next day delivery. We are delighted with the high quality wood and pleased to support a family business.

Jade contacted me re my issue below and I must say she and the company provided excellent response. The problem appears to have been unique so replacement slats were promtly provided following very constuctive dialogue. Thank you so much for the resolution and proving that after sales service is just as important as selling goods.

Ordered hardwood bench slats fitted them no problem. Next day after rain overnight the slats had a type of discolouration ie. Speckled mould effect. I had protected the slats with two coats of teak oil. Contacted Benchslats via email + photos asking advice/cause of issue.

(I had previously written a negative review, as there were numerous delays with my bench slat order.)

However.......following a phone call from Jade, things got sorted. She couldn't apologise enough and was disappointed that Benchslats (which is a small family business) had made mistakes with the processing of my order.

I am happy to give a positive review following the successful receipt of the slats! They were packaged very well and are of a high quality.

I always try and support small businesses and following Jades attention to my issues, I would now use them again.

I will just add though, that your order may take longer than the 5-10 'working' days that they state on their site. This may just be down to particularly busy time of the year when I ordered, but it is something to consider.

AMENDED - 12 July 2024 - I am pleased to report that BenchSlats moved quickly once I had posted the original "do not use" review and all has now been sorted out quickly. I even placed a second order successfully. They explained that they had experienced problems with a courier company. I would now happily use them again (and can confirm they are not a scam!) Charles

(Original) DO NOT USE. I did not want to give one star but i had to otherwise cannot write comments. I ordered slats early May24 and am waiting for delivery 25June24. No confirmation of delivery date although I did get an email from Jade saying she was delighted my goods had arrived. They had not. I shall now seek a refund as i suspect this is a scam.

The quality of the product are great. Very pleased with the bench slats and bolts I ordered.

Ordered some bench slats and fixings on 30/4/24. Allowing for bank holiday, I waited for ten working days to pass then emailed to find out where my order was. I rang 2 days after this as I had no reply and was told that they would be delivered In the early part of the following week. Rang again on 23/5 and was told they would be delivered by FedEx on 24/5. Rang again on 28/5 to be told they were out for delivery that day, thankfully they finally arrived. I can’t say how good the product is yet as I haven’t used them. A word or two of advice to this company: Don’t lie about delivery, it clearly hadn’t been sent on the first two calls. — If you are inundated put something up on your website as that will stop you getting so many calls from people chasing their orders. — be honest and transparent. Don’t order from this company if you want goods in a hurry.

Bought bench slats to make a memorial bench for my partners late grandparents as a heartfelt Christmas present and the slats and coach bolts never arrived.

I repeatedly contacted via email, website enquiry and their phone number (before they changed the contact number on their website) to find where my order was some 10 days after purchase as the delivery estimation was 48 hours via Parcel Force. So many false promises made and never delivering on them.

I tried multiple times to cancel the my order which they ignored, then sent something out afterwards which I was informed by Bench Slats UK to refuse the delivery of and that they would have the parcel returned from Parcel Forces depot to themselves and then send me a full refund which I never received.

I raised a refund request with PayPal after providing all of the information i.e. emails, phone calls etc which the seller promised to refund in full but never did and the case was later closed with never sending the refund.

I'd advise to anyone to avoid making a purchase from this company so they didn't have the same awful experience as myself.

I find it incredibly suspicious that the last positive review was from late 2022 with no reviews until 3 days ago 24th May 2024 being negative.

I posted this exact review on their website (27th May) and they have deleted it (28th May).

I placed a order for some bench slats and fixing,s with bench slats UK, a couple of weeks ago, they arrived in well protected packaging and the slats are fantastic ( I opted for the sapele ones) I looked for any faults ( I,m quite particular) but couldn't find one, a great company to do business with if I had any questions they got back to me straight away, I would recommend them and I will certainly use them again

Excellent service from Harry and Jade in exchanging my order due to my error. Speedy swap and personable communication. Well done guys.

Lovely people to deal with and the slats were beautiful. Expectations exceeded. Elderly mum just delighted with her new 120 year old bench. Her grandad was a blacksmith who made it for her mum and dad when they moved into their first home. Thank you.
