Deposit Nightmare: Sued Over Two Tiny Carpet Spots

I left the room spotless after cleaning it myself. Handed back the keys, and suddenly I get a call about a 'very dirty room'. Then they sued me in small claims court over 'damage'… which turned out to be two tiny spots on the carpet. Wow, apparently in their world two little marks = hundreds of pounds and full court drama.
Judge laughed it off (figuratively) and said max 2 hours of cleaning. Claim dismissed.
If your idea of 'serious damage' is two specks on a carpet, maybe avoid leaving your deposit with them.
