Great input and help! Julie is friendly and professional :)
As a university student whose second language is English, I was facing challenges with organising my workload, developing effective study skills, studying consistently, proofreading essays, and meeting the academic standards required at university level. Working with Julie made a huge difference to both my academic progress and my confidence. Julie was incredibly helpful in supporting me with organisation, time management, study skills, planning my studies, and reviewing my written work in a way that was clear, encouraging, and easy to understand. She also helped me with referencing, showing me how to correctly use references in my assignments, and guided me through library searches so I could find relevant academic sources more independently and efficiently. She helped me improve not only my essays, but also my overall approach to learning, researching, and preparing for assignments.
What I appreciated most was how much Julie helped me manage stress while balancing university, work, and family life. She understood the pressures I was under and offered practical strategies that helped me feel more in control and less overwhelmed. Julie was also very flexible and always worked around my needs and schedule, which made accessing support much easier. Her approach was understanding, professional, and tailored to me as an individual.
Her specialist mentoring was far better than any of the other mentors I have worked with. Julie’s support was personal, effective, and genuinely made a lasting positive impact on my university experience. I would highly recommend her to any student needing extra guidance and encouragement.
Everyone I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable on all forms of mental health and study support.
Julie has been very helpful, I haven’t had the easiest time at university struggling with mental health issues and she has been a very helpful mentor.
Found this helpful with managing my situation.
Having worked with Julie within my first year of uni, Julie provided great support both academically with aspects such as referencing and helping break coursework down into less overwhelming amounts. Julie not only helped with these aspects but also with managing the transition into uni and other academic areas which can be overwhelming with being neurodivergent. Overall Julie’s knowledge and skills within counselling made it so much better. Julie is a kind easy to talk to and solution based person who makes that first step of counselling so much easier. We worked on different techniques - often looking into DBT. I highly recommend Julie to anyone who is looking into counselling in any form.
Finding a therapist who truly understands the effects of endometriosis, PMDD, PTSD is rare but Julie at bespoke counselling is incredible. Bespoke taught me to use opposite action for the crushing fatigue and bouts of chronic pain, the isolation that comes with the illness can be stifling. Instead of withdrawing I have learned to to lean into small and manageable self care actions that actually improve my mood and energy. They have helped me reclaim a sense of agency. They have also helped me with radical acceptance, which stops me from fighting my symptoms and instead focus on my energyand self care; meaningful actions (to me) such as music and writing by using concrete DBT tools to navigate,y hardest days without losing myself to distress.

I am an African student who has found this service very useful for adapting to Scottish culture at Stirling University. The counselors are also academically qualified and able to help me structure my essays.
I used this counselling and academic support service while studying for my Master’s degree in Marketing at a UK university, and I honestly don’t think I would have completed the course successfully without their help.
At the time, I was struggling with planning assignments, creating academic references correctly, and finding suitable research material through the university library system. The academic advisor I worked with was extremely knowledgeable and supportive. Her background in teaching Academic English for many years really showed, as she understood both the academic expectations and the challenges international and postgraduate students can face.
The support I received helped me improve my academic confidence and organisation, and ultimately I was able to successfully pass my advanced degree. After finishing my studies, they also provided interview coaching and career support while I was searching for my next job, which I found incredibly valuable.
I would highly recommend this service to any student who needs professional, supportive, and knowledgeable guidance during their studies.
I am a volunteer with the Scouts and I have used this service to help approach parents of children who present with Mental Health issues as well as techniques to promote inclusivity of young people who could be neurodivergent.
The service helped me in ensuring that we did not overlook specific needs and gave impartial advice and a discrete contact for parents who could receive this information the wrong way.
I would highly recommend using this service if you are involved in any group working with children in a non vocational setting as a part of the session planning ensuring that all needs are met and potential flags are identified. It will also allow the parents the opportunity to speak to someone about any concerns they may have about their child.
