Robbers in the daylight! Don’t care about people!

I have made the reservation through booking.com for a property managed by BestFewo Ferienhäuser am Ilsensee 1 in Germany with every intent to travel and stay at the property. We have confirmed with the German embassy that we could travel prior to making the reservation. However, due to COVID travel restrictions imposed by the German government at a later time we were not able to travel. We have informed the company through booking.com to this effect and requested cancellation. However, we were contacted by some intermediate company, Secra stating that they do not manage bookings and advised us to call some foreign number. Multiple attempts to reach anyone at that number went unanswered. We have contacted BestFewo directly multiple times but received a response only a month later to tell us that they do not grant a ‘good will cancellation’ and that we owe them a no show fees and they are placing our debt to collections! Now the collectors are contacting us! Needless to say, booking.com showed no support in this case and told us that it is between us and the company we made the reservation with. So much for their use! This is in time of global pandemic, a global tragedy that touched every country and almost every family - the BestFewo and it’s property owners such as Ferienhäuser am Ilsensee DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE! Despite the fact that their own government has closed their borders for travel, BestFewo and it’s property owners are trying to collect money from people who are subject to restrictions and have already lost everything to covid - our jobs, our health and now even our credit worthiness! BestFewo is ruining our reputation just so they can make money off the people by charging no-show fees and living at the expense of other people tragedies! Stay away from BestFewo, the Ferienhäuser am Ilsensee and booking.com!

thank you for your evaluation. I regret the described situation. Since no information was given I cannot understand which case this is about. Regardless of this, we and the hosts are of course acting within the framework of the applicable laws. Due to the pandemic we are also fighting for survival as we have lost many bookings and a lot of money.
