Dire insurance company I’ve been paying for insurance on a iPhone 11 for nearly five years now I finally need a repair I have been refused because I cannot provide proof of purchase which I was sold through Carphone warehouse, I was never sent a proof of purchase only a confirmation of order that does show the iPhone 11 but doesn’t show the imie number and also a confirmation through o2,but again doesn’t show the imie number it’s as clear as a bell I have had this phone from new on contract my bank statement also show proof and have phone bills from o2 however after paying out £8.99 month for four years I have been refused a claim this insurance company is not easy to deal with and also will go through every loophole not to repair your phone don’t go there I would recommend going through the phone provider as they already have all of your documents, they also when the insurance policy was taken out ask for Proof of purchase so basically taken off me for four years of payments when the policy isn’t worth the paper is written on AVOID this company at all cost me hey are crooks , it is perfectly clear in my case I have owned this phone from new and never made a claim go somewhere else or regret it when a claim is needed, I was put through to one advisor that said it would t be a problem and then when I sent through the documents another advisor turned me down and said my claim wasn’t valid I’m sorry but you have taken my money for four years you should ask for this information when the policy is purchased I am going to seek guidance from the uk citizens advice and have cancelled my direct debit as from today you are the worst insurance company I have in my history ever had to deal with your are super crap

I've been insured with better buy for 2 years now.
I had an issue with my phone and I decided to claim it on 24th August. Exactly 1 month ago.
First of all, it took me ages to get in touch with someone through email regarding my claim. Then I've spent loads of time on calls, with waiting time 15 min on average. The staff is poorly trained, they always put you on hold for 5-10 min.
It takes ages to get a reply by e-mail. About 3 days to get a response from their side. Unbelievable.
I'm a professional who works with Mobile phones every single day. Its part of my day-to-day routine to get my job done. And Better Buy didn't give a s***t for it. I had to buy a very cheap Android to receive their calls due to the issue of my iPhone which is unusable.
They keep asking me loads of non-sense information about my phone etc. My Policy matches every single information about my physical phone. And they are trying to disqualify that fact. It's not my fault if Amazon doesn't put Serial number on their invoices. Seems like they are trying to gain time or even find out something for not proceeding with my claim.
I've got the rights, and I just want my phone fixed. I hope my claim will be solved asap.

I recently changed by insurance policy for a new mobile phone. The process was easy and could all be done over email; saving phone calls etc. They did not try to increase the price either which I thought was a fair practice.
I have used this for past three years, they are the cheapest and very prompt when I needed to claim, so I will recommend them
Rang them twice regarding a claim only to be hung up!
If this continues, I'll be cancelling my policy.
UPDATE: Cancelled! Goodbye and good riddance!
Beware! They do NOT use original Apple parts for repairs and my phone died 2 weeks after the service. I'm asked to send my phone back again for the same repair which means at least a week with no phone and possibly another poor repair. Im my eyes this insurance is useless.

I've been insured with better buy for 2.5 years now. At the beginning they had great service, I had 2 claims within first year and they were dealt with professionally and very quickly.
Now 2.5 years in my phone is barely working so I decided to claim it. Since I bought the insurance they were bought by SPB UK in 2019 and a lot has changed.
First of all it took me ages to get in touch with someone through email regarding my claim. Then I've spent loads of time on calls, with waiting time 15 min on average. The staff is poorly trained, they always put you on hold for 5-10 min. For security questions they can ask you twice in a span of a min to confirm your address.
One of the recent calls they couldn't take a payment by phone due to technical issues, so I asked if they could send me an account to pay my excess fee to.
Also, since my insurance automatically renews I didn't expect my excess fee to go up from £50 to £75, later to call them and realise that they have sent me an email in 2019 with the same policy but different excess fee.
It might seem to be a cheap service, but it's a headache. Customer service is horrible. I hope my claim will be processed quick and I won't use their services ever again. A waste of money.

Honestly, was expecting this process to be a right pain, but I was really pleasantly surprised! People on the phone were very helpful (especially Fazila), I got regular updates on progress, and am happy with the phone fix (mine smashed and I had it sent back within 5 days). Only comment is that there are a lot of names/companies/subsidiaries floating about and I got a little confused who i was talking to at some points.

I ordered phone insurance and a confirmation email with details didn't come through, I phoned up and they said it would come through within 48 hours. Its been over a week and still no confirmation email with details have been sent to me (I have checked inbox and junk) I will chase again tomorrow but I think this is a very basic stage and reflects badly on the company.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt I had to give better buy insurance some credit. I put. A claim in last week to get my Samsung s9+ fixed as I had shattered the back and screen, as well as damaging underneath the screen. After reading some claim review on here I was dreading it thinking it was going to be a dodgy repair.
From sending it off to them shipping it back it took less than 48hrs fabulous! I was shocked it was the same phone to be honest as it look brand new all over again. Even the little grazes on the corner are gone and the thumb print pad renewed (neither part of my original claim).
Extremely pleased with the service I have had.

If just getting my policy documents sent to me took that much of a hassle then making a claim if something were to go wrong will be a disaster. I just want my money back.

They did not send an order confirmation when I took out the insurance policy or any details of the policy, despite me emailing to chase it up (and checking my junk folder).
Previous reviewers have been saying the same thing for months and they have still not done anything to resolve the issue.
If they are incapable of sending a simple email confirming their customers' orders are in place then I would not trust them to respond appropriately to a claim.
