Better Mood is a scam

Better Mood is a scam website and will charge you without your consent, so please DO NOT DO THEIR INTAKE TEST. They adon't give you an opportunity to unsubscribe from their services and also don't respond to emails. I have been charged for three months with zero notification about it.

I thought the whole thing was fishy…

I thought the whole thing was fishy from the start but at 1 am and very anxious I almost caved. The questionnaire felt weirdly disingenuous and I couldn’t put my finger on what was wrong until I looked at these trustpilot reviews and the “CEO’s” responses gave it away… everything is ai generated. This is not a real program by real people, none of the replies are real and have come straight from chat gpt. Most ai bots use a formula of “it’s not this, it’s this” or using “-“ which is pretty rare to see now days but the ceos reply had both. Be aware.

AVOID!! SCAM!!

You will register with your email, then when you get money deducted after a week free trial, you will try to log in to cancel the subscription .. but it will say you don't have an account with them. No confirmation emails are ever sent either. They are abusing people who want genuine help, only causing more anxiety. Thankfully was able to sort it out with my bank.

Glad I checked.

I really felt satisfied with the information better mood provided before we got to the trial offer page. I was eager to sign up but decided to check the reviews first. I am glad I did because there seem to be a major issue with people loosing money or not able to get refund, bad communication, no form of communication. All that would be overly stressful for me not to mention increase my ANXIETY level and take up valuable time. It is all crazy because this company/group are suppose to be supporting peoples needs and wellbeing not ADDING to their stress and anxiety. No wonder MH is on the increase. It all about being fully transparent. I have now changed my mind which is a SHAME because the assessment and presentation is very good, but it appears you need to work on the Customer service and care.

Forced Subscription beware & refusal to refund.

So signed up to this app and they automatically sign you in to a reoccuring subscription which you cannot turn off in the app itself. I contact BetterMood the moment I received a charge for $29.95 as I only used the app for 2 days out of the 7, and they refused saying it was in their T&Cs. They don't even give you access to turn this off in the app itself. So they are literally forcing you into the subscription. I would have had good things to say about this company otherwise, but this approach is just unethical, and taken advantage of people who are in a stressful enough situation as it is. Had to go to Paypal to get my money back.

Outright Credit Card Scam

They ask for your credit card information while you're signing up for a 1 week FREE trial, and then unsuspectingly charge you 30 Dollars at 3 AM in the morning even before it's been a week! They then proceed to refuse to respond on email or provide a refund after casually cancelling your membership.

The auto-renewal was unauthorized

The auto-renewal was unauthorized. There is no way to cancel, nor know what you've signed up for. There is no account button. There is only an email address, which they do not respond to. I want my $30 back. This is beyond frustrating. For a site that is supposed to help with anxiety, they seem to just cause more by applying unwanted charges.

Absolute joke

Absolute joke. No confirmation emails, no way of knowing how to login and no app. Feel completely duped, was guided to the page when searching for hypothyroid help and it’s completely irrelevant.

Just another scam subscription service.

I honestly thought I had cancelled the service as soon as I got the trial because after a quick look on day one I realised it wasn't going to be for me. To my surprise I had not actually fully sent everything through and was charged for the service. I explained my situation and that I am unemployed and chronically ill and cannot afford the service to no reply. I even sent a follow up a few days later, still no reply. This company has a complete lack of empathy for a mental health provider which is beyond baffling. I haven't even got a response confirming that I have now cancelled so who knows if they will try and charge me again. This company is nothing more than a scam, I would steer clear.

It’s a terrible company who won’t give you a refund for something you won’t use

I agree with Anna. I wanted to see what the programme was about and had to sign up for a trail, I realised it wasn’t for me after the initial email was sent and never used the site. I have now been charged £74.20 for something I don’t want and won’t use. I emailed instantly to ask for a refund stating I’ve never used it and won’t and the customer services told me ‘However, I must clarify that the decision not to use the program is not a basis for a refund’. This is outrageous! Definitely don’t use this programme. It’s incredibly expensive and will only add to your anxiety. I am now £74.20 in debt for a product I have never used (didn’t even download the app) and won’t use.

definitely a scam

I'd give Better Mood zero stars if I could. I was curious about this program, so foolishly I signed up for what I thought would be a trial. Upon completing the sign-up, I never received confirmation of any kind from Better Mood. I did get redirected to the program.... only to find its initial offerings were subpar, to say the least. I did get "connected" to a coach, who lives overseas and who wouldn't be available to me during hours practical to my schedule... unless I wanted to pony up $399 for a "premier" membership.

The next time I tried logging into the site, it took way too long to find the sign-in link. Once I did, there was no direct link to cancel my membership. I should not have to email a company to cancel a trial! Especially when that company doesn't even confirm that I've signed up!

Since there was no confirmation, there was no notice of my impending trial end. When I saw the pending charge, I immediately emailed this mystery company to request a refund since cancellation is not practical nor intuitive. I got a "sorry we don't do refunds" email. No, you WILL refund me. I followed up with screenshots of their inferior UX and their bogus "reach out to our supportive team" message and once again requested a refund for a program I wanted to cancel.

Of course, I've received NO response to my most recent email. I wish I thought to look for this Trustpilot link before I signed up for this absolute waste of time.

Thanks for "helping" me with my anxiety, Better Mood! I hope I get a response from your "supportive team" soon!

BETTER MOOD 21-DAY NUTRITION PLAN SCAM

I believe the Better Mood 21-Day Nutrition Plan is a big money making scam!! Yes, at BetterMood.com, people take a little test to "measure anxiety" then, Better Mood creates little "feel good" exercises and posts feel-good sayings that are supposed to relieve anxiety; however, Better Mood also sends emails to plan members advertising a 21-Day Anxiety-Reducing Nutrition Plan that is supposed to include 500 easy to prepare recipes with weekly shopping lists for the low price of $29.99 (reduced from $59.99).

Several months ago, I purchased the 21-day nutrition plan and received an 8-month nutrition "guide" that was absolutely nothing like the nutrition plan advertised in the email. The "guide" consists of 233 pages that read like a textbook. Upon contacting Better Mood, I was told there was a system problem with the 21-Day Nutrition Plan and my payment of $29.99 was quickly refunded.

Today, a number of weeks after my first purchase, I received another email advertising the 21-Day Nutrition Plan. It really seems like a good plan and looks to be very well suited to my needs. Because the 21-Day Plan was being offered again, I assumed the "system problem" had been corrected and ordered the plan a second time. Again, I was sent the 8-month, 233 page, textbook guide.

Once more, I will complain and want my payment refunded.

If you receive an email from Better Mood offering a 21-Day Nutrition Plan, DO NOT ORDER. It is a SCAM!

Also, I have searched the internet for information about Adam Kondaus,
CEO of Better Mood, as well as other personnel listed in their "About Us" section on the main website. I have found nothing about Adam Kondaus or any of the other personnel I searched. Huuummmmm.... interesting. Do these people even exist??? Is this site AI generated?

I don't know what this website is trying to prove but I do not believe that it is created by "professionals" in the field of psychology, etc. which is what they want consumers to believe.

Reply from Better Mood

First off, I’m really sorry for the mix-up with the 21-Day Nutrition Plan - not once, but twice. That’s on us, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We’ve refunded your payment, as you know, and we’re on top of making sure this doesn’t happen again.

Here’s what went down: we had a glitch in our system that incorrectly sent out the wrong guide. We thought we had it fixed, which is why we re-offered the plan. Clearly, there’s more we need to look into, and our team is digging deeper to straighten it out once and for all.

About me and the team - yes, we’re real people, not AI. It’s a wild time when I’ve got to prove I’m not AI, huh? Everyone’s a bit paranoid about tech these days. But trust me, I’m as real as they come. I’ve been around the block in the mental wellness industry, and our staff includes real professionals in psychology and nutrition. We’ve been doing this long before AI was even a twinkle in the tech world’s eye, so if you’re curious about more detailed backgrounds, more than we already share on our About page — just let me know and I’d be happy to provide that. In fact, this would also help us to update our ‘About Us’ page accordingly to give everyone a clearer picture of who’s behind Better Mood.

I hope that answers some of your questions and puts yours and other readers’ minds at ease. If there’s anything else you need or any more questions you have, I’m here to help and make sure your experience with Better Mood is top-notch.

Thanks for your patience and for keeping us on our toes.

Best,
Adam Kondaus

Reply from Better Mood

Hello Mona,

I'm Adam Kondaus, the CEO of Better Mood, and I'm truly sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. I want to address your concerns directly.

Firstly, we thoroughly reviewed our records and found no cancellation request under your name. The screenshot you provided us appears to be for a different company, CerebrumIQ, and not Better Mood. We have NOTHING to do with the CerebrumIQ company. This seems to be a mix-up.

Secondly, I want to assure you that we are a legitimate company and provide all relevant contact information, including our phone number and address, on our Contact Us and About Us pages. Transparency is important to us, and we strive to make it easy for our customers to reach out.

If you did indeed sign up with us and have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. I've sent you an email through TrustPilot with my contact details, and I'm here to help resolve any issues you might have.

However, if the problem is with CerebrumIQ, it would be best to contact them directly to sort out the cancellation.

I hope we can resolve this matter swiftly.

Best regards,

Adam Kondaus
CEO, Better Mood

I've been using this app for around 7…

I've been using this app for around 7 weeks. I discovered that this app is really great for tracking moods, practicing mindfulness and reflecting on myself . The coach's tone is really comforting and non judgemental. You can decide how much time you wanna spend on this app. My suggestions are that i wanna choose multiple moods and rephrase the question ‘why?’ To track the reason for my mood and the patterns….

If I could give more stars I would

Just two days in, this app has made a big difference for me. It tracked my shifts from depression insecurity to feeling better… the instant supportive feedback is a lifeline since im alone and isolated. I very much enjoy my morning goals and my daily planning feels like a conversation with a person not a strict to do list. Do try….

It is a scam

It is a scam. I downloaded the app . Allegedly it gave me 1 week free trial, otherwise you would not know if it is good for you or not . I cancelled it as it did not work for me . Still they charged me for £45 pounds! There is not traceable info . No confirmation email about purchase . No sign of subscription or purchase in IPhone . The only info is the minus £44.94 in my bank account! It is a shame from the company especially thinking of their profile . Now as I am reading the negative feedbacks, other people have the same complaints. Once you free-try , make sure you buy! Without knowing it, you do NOT have other option! :(

Absolutely Enlightening!

I appreciate the layout on their mobile site; it keeps things straightforward and uncluttered, focusing on providing information rather than overwhelming with too many options. There's a no refund policy, so it seems to encourage a more thoughtful commitment when signing up, which was great for me because I really wanted a change. If you're looking for app that offers not just really well made program but also cares deeply about your well-being, this is the place for you!

Wasn't sure at first but now pretty shocked it actually works

So like, i was just scrollin through my phone a while back, trying to find somethin' to help with my anxiety. and i feel so much better now. still get lil' bits of anxiety here and there, but for some reason (prob'ly 'cause of the stuff i learned in this program), i can shake it off pretty fast. then i'm all good to get on with my day.

been dealing with anxiety and stress…

been dealing with anxiety and stress for ages, no joke, and nothing really worked until I stumbled on this program. can't believe it but in just a month?? i'm almost anxiety-free. this stuff is legit life-changing, like everything's different now. i didn't even realize how much that constant anxiety was screwing up my life. all you do is follow their techniques and bam, your thought patterns shift on their own – no need to force habit changes or rely on pure willpower, which never freaking works anyway. seriously, i can't hype this program enough. it's not only about anxiety; it tackled some big mental health issues for me that I've been stuck on forever. pure gold, based on solid science and stuff. if you're gonna try just one self-help thing, make it this one.!!!
