I have Barclays insurance

I have Barclays insurance, my laptop was dropped in bedroom and cracked screen. Powered on fine just screen damage. Not bevalued has reported that the laptop has excessive liquid damage and now my claims void. Powerplay direct limited sell the laptops on for profit, so I assume it’s best to keep it and say it’s in repairable. I’ll be taking legal action against Barclays

Be Value will not honour agreement and prices quoted.

Be value keep on changing the amount they want me to pay.
they do not honour the quote given.
they will try to bluff you to pay more for the same replacement and will not even hear your side of the argument.
YOU are left with no choice but agree to pay....
I dealt with Tyron and others and they all are trained not to be fair or negotiate.

Phone repairs take a month!!!

Shocking, phone has been in repair for over 2 weeks and the pair process hasn’t even started. I’ve been told that the repair process will take another 7-10 days. That’s almost a month without a phone, I’ve called and the team is unapologetic. So don’t waste your time and just take it to a shop. You’ll get it back much faster and will probably cost you a similar amount. Will never use again, will be cancelling my gadget insurance if I have to deal with this company again. Avoid at all costs

Absolutely dreadful.

Absolutely dreadful.

Delivered a parcel whilst I was at work and gave me an option to re-deliver for another date.
Gave said date which was a in a week's time as I would be at home and they wouldnt leave the parcel with a neighbour, they then turned up for the next 3 days (each time whilst I was at work) and on the day I requested delivery never showed up.

Good... just about

They just about turned a claim for stolen bikes into a positive experience but took a while to get there. Website is extremely difficult to use in order to upload evidence of claim. However once financial settlement was agreed payment was speedy.

Ridiculous phoned me Monday said a…

Ridiculous phoned me Monday said a claims handler would contact me to valuate my fridge and OLED from storm damaged which has rendard the items useless, no call nothing so far!

I won’t be surprised if they try and rate £2.3k work of items as £1000 knowing loss adjusters it’s not going to be pleasant processing!

Just so everybody is aware all insurance companies do this and use claims handling/loss adjusting companies!

Be aware of BE-Valued and other loss adjusters

Make sure you’ve got receipts for your items and prepare for a battle each time a claim is made always stay calm they don’t like you they are simply there to assist your insurance provider is whatever way they can!

Let’s hope they pull through this times!

Pleasantly surprised!

So, just over a week ago, the nightmare scenario happened where my OLED TV cracked from an accidental impact to the screen. I'm one of those people who never envisage claiming off of an insurance policy due to increased premiums (be that home or car) so I always select the highest excess (£600 in this case) and never take out any additional extras… my theory being that what I save from the lower premium cost over the years will cover most things that can get damaged. Of course, this wasn't the case in this scenario, as my TV cost me just under £3k when I first purchased it in 2018!

With the above in mind, I first investigated with an authorised repair centre how much it would cost to fix - I was advised that my particular TV could not be repaired and the cheapest option would be to buy another one! As such, I dug out my insurance policy and thankfully found that I was covered under the accidental damage clause. A quick phone call to LV and they provided BeValued authority to deal as their specialist claims handler.

BeValued quickly sent me access to a website where I had to fill out some basic information, i.e. serial number, date of purchase etc. The website was really easy to use - although, it might not be so easy if you do not have the information they require. Luckily, I have OCD when it comes to storing records, so it didn't take me long at all.

The next day I received a call from a local electronics specialist subcontracted to BeValued - they arranged to come and inspect the damage. Whilst I already knew the TV couldn't be repaired, I understood that they needed to evaluate this themselves. Inspection happened really quickly, which was surprising in the current COVID-19 climate. The technician turned up on time, took some photos and said they would prepare their report to BeValued.

The report also went over quickly - which I then immediately followed up by phoning BeValued. This was on a Friday morning, and I was told that the report wasn't in the format they needed, and so they would chase the specialist to get this rectified. I was assured that I would hear back from them in the afternoon. This didn't happen unfortunately, however, the lady that I had spoke to in the morning was so pleasant and professional, that I forgave her of this oversight and put it down to perhaps how busy she was.

On the Monday, I phoned BeValued again - I spoke to another lady (polite but not as engaging) and after being on hold for a while she came back and told me what I already knew... i.e. the TV could not be repaired. She then offered a replacement from their key supplier (Hughes) valued at £2.8k, which I was advised was the same spec as the TV that was damaged. I asked what the cash settlement value was, and was told it would be £2.1k, of which, I would have to pay my £600 excess. I was disappointed that for a £3k TV, I would be left with £1.5k if I decided to take the money, as this basically left me with no option but to take the replacement option. I advised that I would research their suggestion.

Following my investigation, I found that whilst I was being offered a good TV, it wasn't quite up to the spec of my damaged one in some key areas. Given the excess I was paying, I of course wanted to get a TV that was either the same or better, as such, I e-mailed BeValued in the evening suggesting an alternative that I had seen on the Hughes website which did in fact tick all the boxes (in fact, it was slightly better in almost all areas to the TV that had been damaged). I assumed that I would have to chase again, and given the TV I wanted was an extra £200 (i.e. £2,995) I also expected to be refused. To my utter surprise, I received an e-mail the following day saying they had reviewed my points and had decided to authorise the TV I suggested. I phoned later that day to pay the excess and was connected to Amber (whom I must say was absolutely lovely - really friendly and helpful and just the epitome of what a customer service representative should be). I asked her to confirm I would receive a new TV (not a refurbished model) and she promised it would be. Given the time of my call, Amber advised that she couldn’t call Hughes until the next morning, but she assured me that she would let me know once arranged. By lunchtime the following day, I still hadn’t heard back and so I called BeValued again. I guess Amber had just forgotten to contact me back, as she had booked everything with Hughes and I was told the TV would be with me the next day!

This is where the story ends - this morning Hughes delivered a brand new TV, which, whilst it cost me £600 (and no doubt an increased premium for the next 5 years) is better than no TV at all - the fact that it's a newer model makes it even better. All in all, a fantastic service was provided by both LV and BeValued - much easier than I ever expected.

Terrible service

Terrible service. They do not communicate with the insurer (in my case nationwide/rsa). I had to explain what I was claiming for myself then they didn’t even know my policy. They offered my a cash settlement up to what they thought was my limit without realising I had specified my bike on the policy. I then waited another week and called them up to find they had already decided to give me cash for the full value of the bike but hadn’t told me. They kept forgetting about the additional items in the claim and then claimed that they weren’t covered even though the insurer had already told me that they had accepted them as part of the claim. They then said they would need to speak to the insurer again and would get back to me as soon as possible. I am still waiting for a further response. There so bad I am actually going to raise my complaint with the insurer.

Damaged pc due to water damage

I had a flood in my house and my insurance told me that BeValued would be dealing with part of it re my sons damaged pc. I saw the reviews and was nervous thinking oh nooooooooooo.

Well I am happy to write that I had a great experience. The staff were so lovely and informative. Genuinely friendly and wanting to help. I am so bad at names but 2 that were great were - Sam on the phone and Maciej via email.

They were great as were the company. Thank you!

Poor response time and continued errors - Avoid if possible.

My insurance company use BeValued to handle the electrical appliance part of my claim. BeValued have continually missed items off the claim that they have records for and have been instructed to deal with. They have been very slow at responding to e-mails. They have forgotten to place orders that they have told me had been placed (and only when i told them it hadn't arrived they responded saying it was now out of stock). They have been a very disappointing company to try and deal with in what is a challenging time. The right hand doesn't know what the left had is doing. You speak with different people every time and its clear there is no note / record taking (or a laziness to check any notes that have been left). If i had a choice i would never work with this company but unfortunately they are appointed by my insurance company. Avoid if possible.

Keep chasing them

Haven't had to claim in over 20 years. Had to go via Tesco, the police, Axa and then this company. Axa agreed the payment then i was unaware I had this additional step which has taken weeks. I wasn't offered like for like, instead I received offers of inferior product however most of the staff there genuinely seemed to want to help. Hope to have this resolved soon. Could have been more straight forward. Why there is this additional pain I don't know. I did have to chase several times ..

Accidental Damage claim dealt with by BeValued.

I made a claim through my insurance company esure for accidental damage who advised me that BeValued would be dealing with my claim.

I did my research before contacting BeValued and being honest, after reading some of the reviews on here, I was very sceptical about having to deal with them.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. Totally professional throughout. Polite, courteous and friendly whilst keeping me informed at regular intervals throughout the process:

11 May 2020 - I spoke to Olivia who advised me that my iMac would be collected by DPD on 12 May 2020.

12 May 2020 - Another conversation with Olivia confirming my iMac collection time.

18 May 2020 - I spoke to Mia regarding the latest update. BeValued were waiting for authority from my insurance company to proceed.

20 May 2020 - I spoke to Callum who confirmed the settlement figure and the response from my insurance company.

22 May 2020 - I spoke to Imogen and agreed for my excess to be paid and I provided bank details for payment.

26 May 2020 - Settlement figure less excess was in my bank after clearing.

A clear, smooth process. Thank you BeValued.

What a fantastic experience

Well let me start with saying my initial call with Jack - Case Handler with this company was great and put me at ease. I do get stressed and they was a great help. A call back was arranged with
Emma as normal to take details and then I got a call back from Sam at bevalued.

Sam who was a total angel with me and couldn’t ask for better. We had to wait a short while due to coronavirus. Once I sent pics the engineers needed to see it physically. It was collected on a Saturday and arrived the Monday. Now I phoned on a daily basis and emailed daily and they showed nothing but respect. I also spoke to Melissa, Isobel and a guy I don’t know name of.

Then on the Thursday I got a call from Sam saying that it would need a new screen, battery and other parts and it was better to replace it and the case. I got the iPad and case coming the next day ( don’t forget apple care)

So the experience from start to finish was a fantastic experience and don’t be put off by negative reviews as what I experienced is far from that.

Damaged laptop replacement

Dealt with my insurance claim for a damaged laptop. An absolutely first-class service. Within three days of making the claim I was given a choice of a cash settlement or a voucher for Curry's/PC world, both of which enabled me to purchase another laptop of similar specification. I spoke to three different advisers and they were all extremely pleasant and efficient, dealing with my queries in a consistent and professional manner. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.Thank you.

Jokers...

Dropped a jar of cranberry sauce on my iPhone on December 8th. Made a claim with esure who passed it to be valued. Took them until new years eve to collect. After 10 days decided to call as had no contact, they told me I needed to turn find my iPhone off, he said he has emailed me the instructions of this so I waited for an email and did not receive one. I phoned back the next day to say no one has emailed me how do I do it so he told me over the phone and I went onto my laptop and did this phoned them back to inform them and that was that. Another 10 days go by with no contact so I called again and the man I spoke to said you haven't turned find my iPhone off I explained 10 days prior I had done this he said no it is still on so I asked why no one had bother to contact me to tell me this. He told me to call apple and they would disable it for me, so I phoned apple and the man over the phone said no we cannot disable for you it is a breach of security but it is already off and has been off for 10 days! I called them back angrily and said find my iPhone is off and has been for 10 days so what are you reading on the log you have you are clearly reading me the instructions from 10 days ago. Asked to speak to a manager and shock there were none available. He then told me had emailed the engineers to tell them it was now off so I said no please phone them as I am not waiting for you to email me with a response as I have never received an email off you when you said you've sent one, he said he would call back which he did an hour later to say the engineer has confirmed find my iPhone was off. So I asked why on earth I have waited 10 days with no contact off anyone - clearly as no one has bothered to look at my phone! A week went by with no contact so I phoned them for an update to be told that oh yes an email has just come in that the phone is unrepairable - ironic the email came through when I was on the phone!! I was then offered an iPhone xs max 64 gb I said no my iPhone is a 256gb the lady said it was opened by the engineer who stated it was a 64gb, I said it was not I had the box to prove it she asked me to send that which I did and she then rang back to say apologies the engineer is new and got it wrong - clearly trying to send me a cheaper phone! Finally a month later waiting for my new phone to be sent out....

Bevalued - Worst Claims Handler

Made a claim through Nationwide for a laptop which apple confirmed is unrepairable due to damage. Nationwide passed the accident damage claim onto Bevalued who have decided recheck and see if the laptop can be repaired which is fair enough but 5-7 working days is ridiculous, and that's before they even decide what they are going to do.

They have no empathy for customers who rely on their products for work and lose money because Bevalued want to take their time. Without my laptop, I cannot work, and if I cannot work, I cannot provide for my family and they have made it clear they don't care.

Each advisor you speak to provides a different view, and no-one is consistent. Neither Nationwide or BeValued can stick to the same story. I recommend staying away from this company and if your insurance company uses Bevalued good luck.

Maybe someone should put a YouTube video online about their incompetence.

£800 out of Pocket? No Way!

I have home insurance with Barclays who are underwritten by Aviva and who in turn use BeValued as their claims management company.

I was broken into and a very expensive, specialist mountain bike was stolen, along with a plethora of other items.

First contact was fine but after emailing a list of stolen items and receipts I heard nothing more from them.

Chased and chased and eventually got a settlement figure of most of the cost of what was stolen...in Amazon vouchers. Unable to purchase an equivalent bike On Amazon, I refused their offer and asked for a cash settlement. They offered me £800 less than the voucher offer and refused to budge. They were incredibly rude and told me I had a hour to accept the offer otherwise it would ‘go to the back of the queue’.

I spoke to Barclays again. They were fuming almost as much as I was. The negotiated a full cash settlement on my behalf.

Had I accepted BeValued’s offer I would be out of pocket to the tune of £800 for a burglary that was on no way my fault.

Avoid at all costs, you can ask your insurance to submit your claim to another company and I would suggest anyone who has their claims allocated to this company to do so.
