Sold an item that was not in stock and then offered a sub par item at the same expense. Having no idea whether or not the item would work on my monitor or not.

Hello customer,
You went to our website and placed an order. However, the system processed your order because we were not aware that the the item has been on manufacturer backorder for several weeks now. We gave you the option of an alternative product or a refund. You selected the refund option and we promptly refunded the funds back to your credit card. Not sure the reason for a 1-star review.
Unfortunately, we have no control if the manufacturer doesn’t have the item or stopped making the product.
We are sorry for your dissatisfaction.

Hello customer, the item was clearly marked discontinued. Perhaps it was an oversight on your part. The item has been discontinued and is no longer available by the manufacturer.
We are sorry that the system allowed you to purchase the item. We refunded the item back to your credit card after we tried numerous times to find the item from other suppliers. We will update the system so that the item cannot be purchased.

May not really have what you want
The site let me order something that wasn't in stock. I needed this and was days later before I realized it wasn't being sent. The only change was an email that said the status was "refunded" inside of an email titled "Status change" which I assumed was to "shipped"... you know what happens when you assume.

This was an oversight on our part - we did not know that the item is no longer available from the manufacturer. We made efforts to locate the item from several distributors including the manufacturer for you. We were informed that the item is no longer available with any distributors. All inventory of that item is going towards government contracts. We have no control about that.
Once we became aware of the issue, we immediately made the item unavailable on the website then we canceled the order and notified you within 3 days.
