While reading through these reviews I found it very interesting that most of the 5 star reviews are about the initial sales process and the 1 star reviews refer to after-sales, service, etc. I find that very telling.
Out of 43 waste companies on Trust Pilot, Biffa is ranked 41 - 2 from the bottom 😂

Avoid like the plague (which is currently growing out of our food waste bin because they haven't collected it in WEEKS!)
I won't get in details about how incredibly terrible this company is since they NEVER collect the waste when they're supposed to... I do want to share with you the state of our food waste bin. This picture was taken a week ago so god knows what state it's in right now, I was too scared to open it for a more recent snap.
It gets better - weeks ago when we were (only) a couple of weeks late with the food waste collection, I enquired about when they will come and they said that they went to collect but the bin was too heavy for them to empty, that they will drop an extra bin for us to transfer half of our food waste bin in. No, this is not a joke. This is what Biffa has suggested we do. After obviously refusing to put my team through that, I never heard from them again.
That food waste bin is still rotting in our yard, rapidly turning into toxic waste. Nice one Biffa.

Very good experience setting up our waste service with Biffa.
I spoke with Corrinne Arthur, who was very helpful and easy to talk to. They explained everything clearly and guided me through the process step by step. The pricing and terms were made clear, which gave me confidence to move forward.
The whole setup was smooth and straightforward.
Very pleased with the service.

Worst company ever would have never gone with em.
Gave me a date for a bin never delivered ! I brought all cardboard home from my unit thinking it was coming and then it didn’t. I rang to be told no bins available. They then said they will find out if they can take the loose cardboard which they agreed. Today I got a message failed collection service because the bins and bags weren’t out. HOWEVER this is because I have an electric gate which I gave the pin to them!!!! Will be cancelling absolutely sausages the lot of yous. Cant a bath Nevermind a business. Ring me 07933297667 and cancel my contract

We have had three weeks of disrupted collections culminating in a confirmed collection on the portal last week but the bin has not been emptied. Totally impossible to get through to customer service or credit control or the local number or by email or the portal. We have been forced to cancel our direct debit to protect out finances.

Terrible experience.
Entered into a contract with Biffa and not a single week has gone past where they have managed to adhered to our collection schedule. Missed collections, bins overflowing. Customer service have made no attempt to rectify the situation and now want to charge us to leave our contract.

It would be almost funny, if I wasn't paying for this 'service'. I would never have picked Biffa but they acquired Coastal recycling bin collections, and then the fun started. If you ring them, be prepared for a 30 min wait for anyone to pick up. If you email them, they don't reply or don't answer your questions. I have now cancelled with them and will find another bin collector who turns up when they should, and answers the phone. The Biffa app is a bit of a joke and just crashes. When you do get through on the phone, call clerks cannot read emails from colleagues and cannot resolve issues. It is pointless really, and frustrating. If I ran my business like this, I would have no customers.

Terminated my contract with Biffa as I fell ill & had to close my business.
Already had two failed collections for my general waste, then since 15th Jan, they have now failed to collect the bins on 5 occasions.
Its tricky as I store my bins inside due to bin divers and homeless people so I have to physically go down to my shop to get them out every time I'm told they'll be collected, then go back down when they fail to!
Every single person I've spoken to (apart from Chloe who is the only one who's actually tried to sort it out) has told me something different, not passed on messages and lied to me. It's ridiculous that I've got so stressed out over two red bins. One more failed collection and I'm going to hold them to ransom...

It’s been a nightmare from start to now, we signed a contract nearly 4 weeks ago and are still waiting for our bins to be delivered. The delivery low loader has broke down twice trying to deliver our waste bins and we just keep being passed around on the system with no definite action. We have had to pay privately for our waste to be removed and it’s getting beyond a joke now.

i have never met such a bunch of idiots. they want me to sign something, when i ask they are not sure what it is. being trying to sort this out for weeks, staff at call centre very rude and do not like passing you on top a manager. that's the only way you get things sorted. this is not a one off, its every time you have to contact them at their head office

Biffa are an absolute joke, 2 months with had our bin and it hasn't been collected once, customer service try to help but it's pointless, the depot and drivers are pathetic they can't find our address (but oddly delivered our bin) today was our umpteenth missed collection with a bull shit email saying it will be collected on Friday... we won't hold our breath!! Disgraceful service
