I would have given 5 stars if it was…

I would have given 5 stars if it was not for the problem with the bus. We went across the Golden Gate Bridge and then got on another bus. When we took off my wife comments is this bus going to make it back? We barley made it over the bridge and had to stop multiple times as it just didn’t want to go. At this point everyone was worried we would break down. When we got to the hills it was done. It took a whole green light just to make it through our last intersection and then when she tried to go again it just rolled backwards. Everyone one the bus was pretty worried about rolling back into traffic. And people where yelling to stop and let them off the bus. And it really didn’t help the panic that some people had. They finally gave up and told us another bus would pick us up. In about 5 more mins we got off the bus and onto another, it was kind of crowded but we didn’t leave anyone behind. We got back to the starting spot, but probably added 45mins to the trip.
I know busses have problems but seemed they knew it was a clunker and I was a bit surprised they ran it that day.
Otherwise a good trip around the city, but still not sure why they take you through the tenderloin district. It freaked out about as many people as the bus breaking down.

Very enjoyable tour

Very enjoyable tour! Excellent guide, very knowledgeable, considerate, humorous, and good voice. Wish I could remember his name. He said if we didn't like the tour he was Al Gore. If we liked the tour, he gave us his name and I failed to remember it. I recommend bringing your own headphones or earbuds , since I happened to have mine and they were far superior to the ones provided by Big Bus tour. I could hear 90% of the guides narrative and not 50% with the buds provided by Big Bus. We should have heeded our guides warning and gone downstairs or behind the glass when we went over the Golden Gate Bridge. Even with coats and blankets we were wind-whipped and cold. On the return trip we moved behind the glass Second Story. We are not too old to not learn from experience. We happen to pick a absolutely glorious day for touring the city, May 1st.
We have been visiting San Francisco for over 60 years and regret not having taken the tour 50 years ago. So happy we did! With several places we've never seen and learned so much about the places we had visited many times. He gave excellent recommendations on restaurants as well.

Mostly, a good service

Enjoyed except, one bus didn’t have a commentator so had to get off and take another. Also, the Haight-Ashbery stop is too far from the renowned intersection to be reached by anyone with walking problems.

Great tour

Great tour! It hit all the spots I wanted to see. I was able to do two loops in one day, getting off/on at about 5 stops to go take pictures. I took a couple hours at the GGB to walk across and go up to the view points for pictures. The drivers and guides (Mike, Jason, and Sodapop, among others that I didn't catch their names) were very fun and knowledgeable. One suggestion I have is to start the night tour later in the summer months. I took the 7:30 tour and the sun was just setting. It was still very pretty, but 15 - 30 minutes later would have been even better. Thanks!

Very convenient way to hit the SF…

Very convenient way to hit the SF highlights efficiently. We started tour in the middle of the route. The guide was an older gentleman who was informative, entertaining, and very pleasant. Perfect. A new tour guide took over at the usual starting point who thought he was funny but we found him very annoying — almost unbearable. Couldn’t wait to get off at our end point. Only other complaint was the lack of bathrooms at the main ticket office. Would seem to be a minimum standard for a tour business.

San Fran on the Big Bus Tour

This tour provided us with some extra insight into the city of SAN Francisco and proved to be good value for money. Our tour had the pre recorded commentary and provided excellent information on our locations throughout the tour. Our driver was courteous and helpful and the stops were good to enable us to further explore areas we decided to see a little more of. Please be aware that if you are sitting on the upper deck parts of the trip can be a little chilly when shaded from the sun and especially going over the Golden Gate Bridge so make sure you have a warm coat and hat with you if you don’t want to be shivering through parts of your experience. Recommended!

Handicapped husband treated well!

My husband is handicapped. He got on the bus before the driver even had a chance to give him instructions as to how to use the handicapped bus entry. He ended up falling trying to step up into the bus! The bus driver with a couple of other tourists did a great job getting my husband to his feet and his seat with such kindness. After we reached Stop 1, he helped us get ready for our continuation of our tour by spending time explaining what kind of bus we needed to wait for so we could use the handicapped exit and entry. Very well done. We had a great time! Thank you.

We saw all SF highlights

We saw all SF highlights. Very nice day. Good seating on top on a very cool day.
Enjoyed listening to the programmed narration on Channel 1. Channel 2 was the on board lady who spent much of her time telling us about her own attitudes. Not very interesting. If she was more informed it might have been better.

City tours had good color commentary…

City tours had good color commentary and were well paced. Sausalito guides were a bit too hokey and oddly fixated on the suicides off the bridge. Night tour was really worth it, but lets be realistic and use a fully enclosed bus when taking folks out over the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island. The upper deck passengers invaded the lower decks on the way back and I can't blame them. It was 40F and windy up there! Our Night Tour guide was the best of all the guides as far as commentary.

Good tour to start exploring the city

It’s a really good tour to get to know San Francisco and to start exploring the city! The treatment was awesome and the information was very interesting. The timetables for the day tour good be a bit longer though, at 16:30 I was already on the last bus, passing by union square. But all in all great tour, one should be there as early as possible to have enough time to hop on and off. I would recommend it to everyone!

Great way to see San Francisco

This tour was s great way to see San Francisco. It looked like a lot of people were having problems on whether to put the headphone channel on live or English. We had it on live and only had music until we switched it to English, so we missed out on a bit of information. Other than that, it was a wonderful trip with s lot of information about the sites.

You need better guides

Route was great and some of the commentary was very interesting. One of our guides asked for tips at every stop. Another did not. What is your policy on this? The live guide audio on one bus was very scratchy. One of the guides made very negative comments about Uber and Lyft comparing them to cockroaches - very inappropriate. Better guides would significantly improve your product - maybe they need a required script.

The tour itself is great

The tour itself is great, you get to see the most iconic places of SF and it is very organized and simple to use! The only problem we found is that the stops should be better marked on the street level. We were using the app so we didnt get lost because we used it to find the closest stop, but if it wasnt for that, we wouldn’t have known where the stop is since there are no signs on the street.

Anthony is the best tour guide I have ever had and I have been to 20+ countries! He made the tour so informational and fun that my daughter and I did not want to get off his tour bus. He's a keeper and made our one day in San Francisco enjoyable and educational!
