Dishonest Money Grabbers

Dishonest Money Grabbers - Avoid

If I could give Big Commerce zero stars I would. I've been attempting to cancel my website subscription with them for over a month. Despite repeated requests (verbally over the phone) and in writing, Big Commerce are ignoring my requests and continuing to extract funds from my bank account. I changed by bank card and they found a way to start extracting money from my new card (over a month after receiving my initial cancellation request).
They've made it exceptionally hard for anyone to cancel with them. There's no way of deactivating your account online. Their customer service agents cannot deactivate your account over the phone either - instead you have to email an obscure email address (which you get no replies from) and you have to provide them with all sorts of company registration type information to close your account - and even then they still continue to try to extract money from you.
Currently going back and forth with Paypal to be refunded money that Big Commerce has taken after cancelling with them. Avoid this company at all costs. Sign up is easy. Cancelling with them is impossible.

Ordered from a BigCommerce store on Dec 14th, a car lift. Got emails with a tracking number, all seemed well. The tracking was a false number. Email address on the order was info at leavesslave.top. They ripped me off, never got what I ordered. This should be labeled a scam site!!! NEVER order off Facebook!!! Complete theifs, and no way to contact customer support!!

Does not integrate well with Square

At first BC was great. Pretty user friendly and they have good support.
However when I tried to integrate Square with it there have been multiple problems.
I use Square in my store and I have had multiple problems with inventory tracking. When I sell products in my store the inventory has not been changing online. It has been a huge headache! Also there is not a way to use square gift cards online through BC, so my customers either have to buy a gift certificate through BC for online only or a square gift card for in store purchases only.

Customer support processes not suited…

Customer support processes not suited for bugfixing of such critical service, support tickets are frequently not fully read, platform unstable with frequent problems, I could go on and on. Store Breaking issues go for 96 hours unfixed.

My experience with this company was terrible. Overall it's an operation wise terribly managed business with an OK product on good days and a not working product on bad days.

I switch to Shopify, we'll see how that is

Although I wouldn't say bigcommerce is 1 star bad it was bad enough for me to just switch providers altogether so that makes it 1 star. Bigcommerce themes are BASIC. They are very limited in features and they are expensive and their support teams are not great, you speak with reps and not coders so they cannot really help you. You can barely do any customizations without coding which is not helpful at all. I am switching to Shopify.

I think this company is hosting several…

I think this company is hosting several scam accounts that post products on Facebook. I stupidly thought FB had some way to verify businesses. They don't. I spent $270 on one of the "stores" here. Too good to be true? Yep. My Dad was right then, and now. I should have known better. Don't feel bad if it happened to you too. The ads, website, products and follow up emails are very believeable. And, I am sorry for the hassle these horrid people caused you.

I cant recommend BigCommerce

I cant recommend BigCommerce. I have had a store with them for several years. 4 months ago I switched to another platform and contacted them to cancel the subscription.
They told me it was cancelled yet I have been charged for 3 months straight since then. The entire "support" network they use requires you to have a store pin number which is available within your store dashboard. however, I dont have a store anymore to get this!
When you call them, youre left on hold all of the time.
This is a nightmare to get this sorted.

Great for beginners

Bigcommerce is an excellent platform to launch your first store. They have all the selling tools needed to succeed. Their customer service is outstanding.
When you grow, however, you need additional tools and apps that are limited or not easily available. They seem to be a bit slow at improving or updating features needed for today's eCommerce demands.
Overall, it is a great platform to start an online business.

Worst customer service had an issue…

Worst customer service from their support had an issue with being charged twice for my store spoke to will he won’t let me finish with my complains kept interrupting me so I insisted on speaking with a supervisor spoke with Joseph worse as he did the same thing I had to tell him he was worse than will as he won’t let me talk his tune was so harsh and I think that’s so rude especially as a supervisor. Won’t recommend this platform for anyone seeking customer service.

They STEAL money out your account!!!

Customer service doesn’t help your issue. And they STEAL money out our account. If you need to cancel do it before the monthly days end or you won’t be able to get a refund. I didn’t cancel 1 DAY later after I realized my 30 days was up and they didn’t want to give me a refund. Had to pay 30 days of service for something I did not use. I don’t even see an option to take my card off.

Poor support on vital problem

Support on important issues has been unresponsive and incompetent.
My currency issue was solved previously after much back and forth with incompetent support agents who did not perform simple analysis. It then reoccurred and has remained unsolved for months.

It's a decent site for basics. If there are options for more involved categories and ways to organize, I've yet to find them. It definitely gets the job done and is very easy to navigate. Just wish there were more ways to set product up.

WORST SUPPORT ORGANIZATION

Support organization is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Doesn’t matter the severity of the case, if your store is completely down, you’ll receive the same BS email “Someone is still reviewing”. This has gone on now for 2 full weeks for me. I just made the switch to BigCommerce from Shopify, solely for the ability to leverage Square’s services for payment. Shopify is by far a superior platform and all of their services are superior as well. DO NOT USE!

Bigcommerce is average

Bigcommerce is average. We still can't accept ach payments and unlike shopify that offers merchant cash advances thats not an option here. I hate the fact that we cant have our own ssl, we have to be on certain plans to get it etc.

Best customer service and support I've ever run into in 20 years

Wow, I never thought I'd write a 5 star review about ANY IT company--and I used to be in IT. But after horrible service with GoDaddy and Digitlhaus I was SO impressed with Bigcommerce. Support picks up the phone within a minute, they address all issues, even ones that aren't their responsbility and they are so thorough. Best customer service and support I've ever run into in 20 years-- hands down.

Basic product filtering Scam

BigCommerce requires you to be on Pro or Enterprise plan Min. 249.99 a month to have basic filtering capabilities like price range, brand, and category. What a scam!
