SCAMMY AND SHADY
SCAMMY DON'T DO IT!!! BC transcript clearly shows where I requested to cancel the account well before the trial ended. The rep said he would "forward the request to the proper department". My account was not cancelled. Hard to contact on phone. Finally phone rep said same thing "cancellation process" forward to correct department, etc etc SHADY SHADY
Terrible
Terrible. You can't speak to anyone for support, either online form, chat or phone (put me on hold for 10mns...just gave up in the end...), called back, someone hang up on me. Called back again, they told me I would receive an email to confirm the cancellation, never received it...In the end I told them I would report them if money was taken from my account again, finally they replied....Says it all....
This company is ridiculous!!!We have…
This company is ridiculous!!!We have had this account 2 years and every year they overbill us by thousands. Never call back, never resolve the issue, I have to dispute it with the CC company. Again this year even though we called prior to our renewal, once again overbilled. Want us to use the credit of $2400 plus on future billings instead of crediting back our CC. It would take us 3 years to use up the credit. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tools poor and to boot conned out of £2,000.00
Service and tools poor and to boot conned out of £2,000.00 for a service we never used. Contacted them when we spotted the missing funds and offered a £600.00 refund. Mis sold massively as told they needed bank details to have a look round and we made it very clear we would not be paying for a service we did not use which was accepted. Also cancelled but they had 2 accounts open ?? for us without permission.
There Thieves do not use.
Stay away! suspekt fraud
Stay away!
They are doing business with greenboxusa and take credit card information.
Not received anything.
I suspekt fraud with the company involved.
Hands off.
Been here 4 years and I hate it
Been here 4 years and I hate it! I want to leave every month, The company changes its mind about how to use the platform so often I can't keep up, NOTHING is intuitive here, and as soon as you get used to the changes they change them again, they are currently asking customers to recode the entire store to fit the current changes.
I am not ressigning options on 400 products after JUST finishing the current updates I've made. I'm leaving- Id rather learn to manage an entirely different platform than keep dancing with this company. ITS JOKE.
One of the worst CMS ever
One of the worst CMS ever. DO not USE it in any case. DO not trust them and their marketing. Everything is lie and nothing works.
I have migrated to BigCommerce 1 month ago and in 1 month, I have face maybe 100 significant issues and bugs. Guess how many were fixed? None of them!
The chat support is absolutely useless and the dev team absolutely sucks. They need years to fix significant bugs and do not care about their customers.
They have been billing me the wrong amount for month and are charging VAT while they should not. I have contacted the support on June 9th 2022, we are on July 23th and they still have not get back to me.
Even the most simple things such as receiving payments or tracking the number of visitors will not work with this CMS. If you hesitate to use BigCommerce, trust me you will regret it!!
Bigcommerce Payment Gateway South-Africa
Bigcommerce you claim that you are an e-commerce platform for a new era. Please can we get Payment Gateways for South Africa? You claim that you have payment gateways that work in South Africa like Blue Snap, Digital River, NMI, Opayo and World Pay. But let me tell you none of them works in South Africa and that is why you have so little customers in South Africa. Be like Shopify and Ecwid who have payment gateways for South Africa. They all have PayPal that works through there platforms in South Africa. There are many South African companies, like Payfast, Paygate, Virtual Card Service etc. that are incorporated with other platforms. It is only Bigcommerce who do not provide even one descent Payment Gateway for South Africa. Please also do not tell me they are working because I have been using your platform for more than 10 years. I used to use VCS through your system and then it was discontinued, and I had to get an Indian company to write code to get Payfast to work through your system. It cost me extra money as I had to rent another domain on another system to incorporate a payment gateway for Bigcommerce that I can use in South Africa. Bigcommerce developers it is time to catch a wake up, because without a decent payment gateway no e-commerce platform can be an ecommerce platform for a new era!!!
Powerful and flexible system BUT…
Powerful and flexible system BUT suffers from a VERY poor billing model.
We have used Big commerce for almost 10 years and run multiple stores across multiple brands, exclusively B2B.
Cards on the table, it's a good system, otherwise we wouldn't use it.
It takes a while to get your head around the logic and relationships but once you have, the system is powerful and flexible.
The initial US domestic-centric approach and culture has got a lot better over the years and the support via chat is almost always spot on.
The biggest issue, by far, is the billing model. BEFORE you sign up make sure you understand how this works. The cost of entry is very low but as you grow and become more reliant, costs rise significantly and are increased automatically.
Costs are based on sales revenue through your store and the sales revenue is also based in USD (remember that bit where I said US domestic centric?)
So your sales revenue will also be a function of the exchange rate between USD and your local currency. This means that, even if your sales don't move, if the exchange rate goes up and the sales volume passes the billing threshold, your costs go up.
They can go up a LOT.
So, let's say you want product catalogues and customer groups (both are pretty vital in most stores). This puts you on the $79.95 plan which allows you an annual sales revenue of $180,000 USD.
Let's say your annual sales are just under that - at $178,000 a year. Then the exchange rate goes from 1.23 USD to 1.25 USD.
Remember, you have done NOTHING, your sales are FLAT.
Your monthly costs increase (automatically) from $79.95 to $299.95! that's a 275% increase in cost with NOTHING on the other side!!
This happens automatically. Naturally, you would expect the opposite to be true right?
Wrong.
It stays at this level and you have to contact them to have it put back. if you don't stay on top of it you may not get a refund for previous months, as this is not guaranteed.
So, Big Commerce, if you are reading this..... Come on guys, there is a world outside the US. Your system is great and you have some brilliant people in your team. At the very least you need to peg the store revenue to the local currency. Then you could make the downgrade automatic like the upgrade and then you could make the billing models more equitable.
terrible customer services
Could give you 5 stars but still needs improvement. Too many novice people on first level support. Otherwise, expert people.
I requested a refund for my bigcommerce…
I requested a refund for my bigcommerce plan, I asked 5 times, they said It is in review. Never Heard from them again and they are very unclear on a lot of things. Wouldn't recommend
What is the most important thing when…
What is the most important thing when you are e commerce startup? Its the technical support provided by your new e-commerce platform. BigCommerce has a very poor support . They dont give any support for themes which they are selling in their own store. And some of those themes dont work properly because they dont even test them . Its a disaster for a new e-commerce business.
I lost 30000 dolar there
I lost 30000 dolar there , no whithdraw anymore
Big Commerce vs. Square
Big Commerce's admin navigation is terrible. I wasted a lot of time just trying to find the pages I wanted. I don't know of any other ecommerce platform which penalizes a merchant for being successful. They have ridiculously low volume limits - an annual limit of $400,000 for a $299/month hosting plan. Better to use a card processor for your cloud based ecommerce platform since they profit from each sale and have no need to overcharge for the hosting platform services. I ended up with Square, my existing card processor. $79/month for the top plan and a much simpler user experience.
It was so bad
It was so bad , i wanna give it a 0 but is not possible, so im gonna give it a 1 . Big commerce staff lacks in training/ knowledge when it comes to helping you with your business itself/ or any problems at sll . I was transferred back and forth to technical support- First guy that answered (Chase) was completely unprofessional and hung up on me after i explained my frustration due to the back and forth transferring of my call .
I'm very frustrated with BigCommerce
I'm very frustrated with BigCommerce. I've been trying to speak to customer service about them increasing my monthly dues by 400%. My orders have definitely increased, but because the Supply Chain is a disaster I can't deliver the products, thus it's not a sale! So not only did I have a pile of refunds I have to pay for those refunds through increased fixed costs too.
I told them I may have to migrate my site to Shopify, and then magically when I update products via CSV, I get duplicates in my pricing rules and my variable products get rearranged inside the option sets. How can I sell a product with 2 prices attached to it and the option sets don't even match to the product? I've contacted them about deleting bulk pricing, but it's only offered on the API, and I have to pay a developer for that! So I have to pay for their CSV failures while paying for orders not fulfilled and now I have to spend God knows how many hours manually fixing variable products because BigCommerce's CSV doesn't work right.
Seriously, is this a form of corporate spite? I feel this way because I am getting no help and no solutions and they usually send me a copy of our chats, but in this case, they have not. They could at least provide me with an API script to fix the pricing issue. obviously, I am sure I will have to dig through my 1000 SKUs and examine which one the CSV trashed, word of advice don't use Big Commerce to store product data! it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get!
Very Limited Functionalities & Poorly Built Platform
It seemed like a good option for our software development company to start using bigcommerce but as soon as we started using it we started seeing little issues here and there. Unfortunately, the issues kept getting bigger and bigger and then we realize that it is not as flexible as other e-commerce websites including wordpress and shopify.
We spent over 500 hours building custom code for our clients bigcommerce website but it ended up being a headache because bigcommerce puts way too many limitations so we ended up having to go back to wordpress and shopify.
Our client called bigcommerce to cancel his bigcommerce account and they said it had been successfully cancelled but after 8 months our client realized it was not cancelled like they told him and they kept charging him $300+ per month and they would not refund the money even though they acknowleged that it was their fault. Our client ended up having to dispute the charges with his bank and BigCommerce was not cooperative it at all... They tried to keep the money but our clients bank was able to get it back.
Overall, we do NOT recommend using BigCommerce.
Bcm is paying
Big commerce in paying. But it is important to not withdrawal only the bonus. I withdraw twice...and i received my money.
Fake this will close for one week
NO customer service whatsoever.
we have used homestead adn were forced to convert to Big commerce 10 yers ago. we discovered that refunds were not processed properly and showing as completed or not depending the screen. WE spent four hours on the phone where the Big commerce support would tell us to call Homestead and Homestead would tell us to call Big Commerce. They refused to help us . THIS IS 10 YEARS after theMERGER. Meanwhile the problem is not resolved they refused to connect us with a manager . which is customer service 101.. . These people are as bad as the cable companies were 20 years ago.. I AM OUT OF HERE
