Tried just using one clamp as u…
Tried just using one clamp as u suggested but was flimsy . Clamped it underneath with both . Seems to hold him . He lifted bike ( with me on it 140 lbs ! ) going after another biker with dog across busy road , and shifted rear end onto street ! Other than heart palpitations , works as u said .

The leash is awesome!
The leash is awesome! I have strong, sometimes wild, high-strung Australian Shepherds and the leash makes me safer when I'm riding with one, and them safer because they're not free to chase cats or squirrels, run to other dogs and people and risk running into traffic. And, as I said above, when they do engage in such behavior the leash is quite stable and easy to manage. One does still need to be smart, however, and anticipate such situations--the leash isn't the be-all, end-all for bad behavior.
