Seventy days ago, I entrusted Bionic with my company device for a RAM upgrade with Bionic, which was initially promised to be a 1 day repair. Shortly after I left the device for an upgrade, I was contacted by the company’s technician, informing me that they would need to send it to the “Official HP Center” due to potential difficulties with the device’s disassembly. It was also said that the service fee would be higher and it would take a few business days, to which I gave my verbal confirmation.
The next two months I have spent chasing the bionic representatives for information on my device, calling, emailing every single contact available online and visiting the shop on multiple occasions.
Throughout this process, I have been intentionally misled, lied to and neglected regarding the device’s status and expected return date on multiple documented occasions. I have been told a number of reasons for the delays, which would prove to be a purposeful deception later, such as: screen broken during disassembly, a broken back-cover two weeks later, deliveries of multiple spare parts, dysfunctional ordered parts, courier delays etc. Bionic representatives never proactively informed me of the status or reasons for further delays; each time, I had to extract the information through persistent efforts, only to receive new reasons and unfulfilled expected return dates.
In my attempts to determine the responsible legal entity in possession of my device, Bionic representatives kept insisting that the device is in the possession of “Official HP center” and only after the legal involvement, 30 days into the ordeal, would it be revealed that the device was in fact sent to Bionic's partnering business (which is an accredited service center for HP and 8 other tech brands) called Multitech, a company with a notorious customer service reputation on the island, rated 3 out 5 on google. Had I known from the start, I would have never granted permission to send it there.
Yesterday, In the full explanation received after 69 days, I learned that the device was initially damaged during transportation from the Bionic to the Multitech or at the Multitech store, with no one taking the responsibility. Therefore, concluding that throughout the course of two months I have been receiving nothing but purposeful misinformation about the condition and expected return of the device.
Despite two official requests (first dating to 23rd November) to return my device in any state or form as it creates a data security vulnerability for my company, my requests were ignored without an explanation and at the time of writing, the device is still in the unlawful possession of Bionic. After 57 days, on 27th of December, Bionic offered 555 EU (61.74% of the device’s value) as compensation.
