Got an email saying I had 24 hours to respond or someone else would trademark my business name. A quick look at their “office” address showed a housing estate in Galway. Not exactly the kind of place I picture handling €70k+ trademark portfolios.

Ignored it. Then came a second email with a fresh 24-hour ultimatum. Nonsense scam behaviour. So I asked them to call me and at least waste their own time. After a chat with the unlikely named “Patricia Caroline Smith”, I told her to go ahead and file the trademark against me and let me know when I needed to rebrand. Unsurprisingly, I have not heard back.

These types of emails are doing the rounds. Be vigilant. Real legal processes do not arrive with a 24-hour countdown clock in your inbox.

This is a scam company; do not take any calls from them, as they are making many false claims. Not an Irish company but a scam centre from over seas!!

These people are scammers. They sent an email to me pretending it was a final notice trying to drum up business for their trademark registration business.

If you do wish to use an agent to register your trademark do not use people that spam and try and scam people.
