I have just tried some of the Birchall virunga Earl Grey Tea in a bag and to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with it absolutely no bergamot flavour which is one of the reasons I enjoy Earl Grey and seems unusually strong black tea flavour although I admit it was at my father's residential care home but none the less I won't be trying it again in the near future and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

I've just today received a bag of the lapsang souchong tea from Birchall. For starters there was no disernible smokey smell opening the bag. I brewed a cup as per the instructions. Such a shame. Nice packaging and quick delivery but not at all as described.

The breakfast tea looks very odd, it is a fine powder and unlike what I expected as I'm used to premium tea having large leaves.

The taste is not unpleasant and is more or less what I expected but I'm not sure I will buy anther packet. Twining's Breakfast tea has a very similar taste and is much cheaper.

Edit: Having tried this tea for a while I've added an extra star after discovering I prefer it when I use half the recommended amount per cup. The recommended amount is 3g which is about a rounded teaspoon but this produces too strong a cup for me. Using just one teaspoonfull in a two cup pot makes for a pleasant drink. So if you find it too strong, halve the quantity.

Missleading informarion about their breakfast blend thats meant to be leaves not powder very dissapointed difficult to strain as so fine otherwise it tastes very nice but the fact that its not advertised properly i feel lied to

Discovered their breakfast tea in a cafe! Clean, strong and refreshing taste. I drink it daily. Reasonable value for money as well.
Have ordered twice now and will be ordering a third time as they have a discount promotion on at the moment!

The lemon grass and ginger tea was very pleasant it had that nice smell of lemon and ginger as you pour the water on when drinking you get a hint of each flavor and ginger not overpowering it is very good would say anytime day delicious I personally recommend

So disappointed with Birchalls. I’ve been drinking their prism tea bag green tea for 10 years and they have definitely reduced the quality of the tea used. It’s my favourite time first thing in the morning that special treat cup of tea- now ruined I assume its a money saving thing as I know for sure the quality of the individual tea bags in packets which is labelled as the same tea might be the same tea but the quality is not the same. So I have two disappointments firstly I thought I could buy the individual tea bags and have same quality tea experience when I’m not at home which I can’t
Secondly but more importantly my favourite tea no longer tastes as good and I really miss it ( I have opened two boxes by the way in case I had a faulty box)
And thirdly by no means least I emailed Birchells via their contact page to ask if they had changed the green prism tea bag quality at all and they haven’t even replied. I have given them around 3 months and heard nothing back
Gutted as I don’t know where else to try to get that gorgeous almost vanilla flavour with no bitterness in my green tea.
Breakfast is not the same anymore!

We've been enjoying Birchall's Rift Valley tea for about five years after returning from Rwanda, and discovering them in the Taste Test results: lovely rich flavour, colour, and great value when you buy the 1100 bag pack! Our last purchase turned out not so good with torn bags, weak tea etc, but a single email to Birchall's and they replaced the whole pack with such grace. Thank you!

We first came across Birchall's tea in the restaurant attached to David Austin's Roses. We liked it so much I asked what the tea was called, and then went on their website. Since that time we have bought all our tea from Birchall's, trying various of their varieties, and we can thoroughly recommend it!

For a company that makes plastic free bags first tried there tea in one of my local restaurants GBK and it it’s full of flavour and worth your money. There website so far is great and after buying some of there teas for around 2 years now I’ve never had any issues with them. Great tea, great company.

Best tea around, and bonus that they are Rainforest Alliance Certified and Fair Trade. Deliveries are prompt and smooth as well.
