This beautifully designed insect hotel is ideal as a shelter for insects. Solitary bees, among other things, like to use an insect hotel. After collecting enough pollen into the bamboo tubes they will then lay their eggs and cover with more pollen. When the eggs hatch, the pollen forms food for the young bee and works its way out to fly out. Bees, as pollinators of plants, are essential for our food supply. Bought for my birthday by a friend. I am thrilled with this lovely bee hotel which is of good quality, lovely wood, well made and easy to hang. I have named it a Bee and Bee 🐝 hotel ! Thank you.

Very disappointing. While the tubes might be OK for bee communities in southern Europe, most of the tubes are too wide (up to 17mm internal diameter) for UK bees or wasps to use. Quite a few of the canes had cross walls right near the entrance, so insects could not use them. The canes are stuck in with glue (I was told by email that they could be gently removed - not true) so it was a hassle to remove the many useless canes and replace them with narrower ones fit for purpose. CJ need to pay more attention to the biology of their target animals where the product is being sold.

a very well made product that was easy to buy and was delivered very promptly. It was a birthday gift for a 7 yr old and she is delighted to have it and put it in the garden to help bees and insects.
