Poor craftsmanship, poor quality material
I'm not sure what happened, but Birkenstock used to have a reputation for high quality items and good customer service. I spent $200 on a brand new pair of Birkenstocks in July 2025. In early October 2025 I noticed that one of the buckles was partly unattached and the mechanism that holds it in place was broken. Part of the metal clasp was stabbing me in the foot, obviously the shoes cannot be worn anymore in this condition. I reached out to Birkenstock and they refuse to do anything about it, claiming that they offer no warranty whatsoever. They gave me a website to some random repair shop across the country in Illinois. Now I have to pay for shipping to get the shoes to Illinois apparently, pay for the repair myself and then pay for the shipping back. When all is said and done I can almost buy a new pair of shoes for that cost. What a joke. I will never buy another pair of Birkenstocks again. Such a shame, too, because I've always wanted a pair but just could not bring myself to spend so much money on one pair of sandals. I finally bit the bullet and this is what happens. For the record, I wear the straps pretty Loosely so there is no undue strain or pressure on the buckles and absolutely no reason why I can see that the Buckle should fall apart in less than 3 months ( except for poor craftsmanship and low quality material). And for Birkenstock to refuse to assist with the repair after less than 90 days, despicable. Very dumb of Birkenstock also because they have a lot of competitors now and so clearly I will be moving on to another manufacturer. Screw you birkenstock!
Extremely disappointing experience
Extremely disappointing experience, not what I expect from a so-called premium brand.
I ordered a pair of Birkenstocks that arrived several days late. When they finally showed up, they were the wrong shoes. I now have to send them back myself and to make things worse, the return slip was missing.
Customer service offered me a 4-euro voucher as compensation, which honestly feels like an insult. If you want to position yourselves as a quality brand, start by treating your customers with basic respect and reliability.

Issue with Recent Order – Request for Resolution
I recently ordered the Birkenstock Suede Clogs in Mauve (Ordered September 27, 2025), and I’m disappointed with my experience. When the shoes arrived, there were small sticky spots on the top of one clog, almost like dried gum. I had to carefully clean it off, which left one shoe visibly discolored and distorted — very upsetting for a brand-new pair.
To make matters worse, when I tried to process a return through the Birkenstock website, I was told my order was unavailable for return, even though I’m still within the 30-day window and I bought the item at full priced.
I hope Birkenstock will review this and provide a fair resolution, whether that’s an exchange or refund. I’ve always appreciated the brand’s quality, but this experience has been disappointing so far.

Terrible Customer Service
Terrible Customer Service! Parcel was 'delivered' by EVRI and had taken an extra 7 days on top of the initially expected delivery date. Parcel was covered in engine oil and was open! They just left it, no-one even rang the doorbell. I emailed Birkenstock re the damage with photos and they told me I had to "submit a claim to EVRI via the post office within 7 days" HUH? Totally different companies AND onus is on the sender of the parcel (the merchant) to ensure the parcel is delivered and in good condition. After much back and forth, they said I could submit a 'damage report' with photos and it would be dealt with by a specialist department, which I duly did. Just received their reply, they say they're sorry for the condition it was received in but as I 'signed for it I accepted the condition of the parcel'. I DID NOT SIGN FOR IT!! The photo from Evri shows a man hand (I am female) holding the box, that's it! I did not sign for it or accept the condition of the parcel. Looks like I'm going to do a credit card chargeback to get my money back. BUYER BEWARE! If you like their products DO NOT BUY ONLINE it is actually the WORST experience purchasing online I have ever had. Date of my first communication with them was 17th September.. Multiple emails, a damage form and 2 weeks later I am still no further!! Utter DISGRACE

A once mighty brand now just a shell of its former self
What happened to the once elite sandal brand Birkenstock? A flimsy shell of its former self. I bought a $290 pair of sandals for my son back in March 2025. By Sept the buckle had completely broken and separated. I called customer service, took pictures of the footbeds and damage and emailed them the receipt from March. I was told to go to a cobbler. Avoid this brand.

Absolute the worst company. They completely mess up my order and in the end I am out of pocket and no goods. Three weeks have passed and instead of offering to send the goods urgently I am told to re order hence losing my voucher and wait for ever, another crap company to deliver. Stay away from this poor company. Completely ruined a birthday and customer service did not care.
Steer clear
Steer clear! Dont buy on-line! I have had a dreadful experience with Birkenstock, who have failed to refund me for several pairs of shoes never delivered. No attempts to resolve the issue despite clear evidence received from them that they know my shoes never arrived because they had been damaged by the courier. Unacceptable customer service. For such a large brand you would imagine they would have this sorted. Are they tanking their sales and can’t afford to refund people? Approaching fraud.

I have purchased a pair 10 days ago with promise of delivery within a couple of days. No delivery and they just tell you to contact the courier. It should be their responsibility as well to ensure all works well.

Customer services at Birkenstock refuse to refund me unless the currier service (evri) accept that they’ve lost the parcel, which they won’t.
I’ve emailed several times and had no reply. Called and been told to wait for evri to find the parcel.

Work boots unfit for purpose
I bought steel-toe work boots Style QS700 £145 incl shipping.
Only worn them for three weeks and the heel has worn down. I'm wearing into the white Birkenstock band around the heel.
They are currently with a local cobbler having a replacement sole fitted.
Probably OK if you work on deep pile carpet but otherwise not fit for purpose.

I have not received a product for two weeks now and the customer service, Maja Smith, Patricia Carpenter and Kinga Holmes have been so unhelpful. None of them can figure out where my parcel is and refuses to refund the product. I will never be buying from Birkenstock again as their customer service is appalling and you may never get your money back.
