I had a terrible experience with BlaBlaCar Bus. The driver crashed the bus mid-journey, putting all of us in danger and leaving passengers stranded in the middle of Spain with no clear instructions or support. It was chaotic, stressful, and genuinely unsafe.
I had to make my own way to my destination by train and Uber, which they initially agreed to reimburse. But now they refuse to refund my original bus ticket, blaming “policy” — despite the fact that the entire situation was caused by their driver’s actions and failure to manage the aftermath properly.
This wasn’t just a delay — it was a serious breach of responsibility. I’ll never travel with them again.

This company is a complete scam. We waited over 3 hours for a bus to never show up. When we reached out they denied my request for a refund and stopped responding. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY

Im reading the reviews and seeing a patern here. I booked a trip from Biarritz to San Sebastian and at showing my ticket to the driver, he said he couldn't find my booking. Unbelievable. Such a scam and crazy this can happen in today's day and age. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!
I was suppose to be travelling from Strasbourg to Bern via Zurich at 5:15 am on Monday the 7th of July. I woke up really early, just to catch the bus. I was well prepared for it. Until the bus came, I had shown my ticket's QR Code to the driver and the driver's phone did not show up anything. I had asked the driver to scan several times and it still did not show up. I had told them several times that the ticket was legit. Then they just drove off. I had to fork out additional money to get to Bern via expensive trains. This is extremely disgusting of blabla car.
I booked a trip. The driver scammed me. Blabla car does nothing and won't even give me my money back. I'm still waiting for the bus. I'm going to the police tomorrow! I don't recommend it to anyone!

11:15am bus from Geneva to Annecy on Sunday 6th July 2025 didn't turn up on time and I received no notification of it being late. There were at least 4 other groups of passengers wandering around not knowing what to do. I left at 11:30am to seek other arrangements.
After contacting support, they claimed the bus left on time and that I must have been in the wrong place.

NEVER EVER BOOK WITH THEM! on an 11 hour bus from Geneva to Barcelona they extended it by 3.5 hours to make it a total of 14.5 hour ride due to adding in over 10 unnecessary stops to smoke cigarettes. Bathroom was inhumane and bus stank, seats are filthy and drivers are terrible. Will never recommend booking with this service
Took two buses with this company and both arrived one hour later than they were supposed to. Also the drivers were very rude, some of them ignored us when asking a simple question and another one grabbed and pulled my arm in a very harsh manner. Definitely won’t be riding with this company again

We were trapped on a bus for three unbearable hours from Nice to Genoa, suffocating in a stench that can only be described as a toxic cloud of stool and stale urine. It smelled like something had died, decayed, and then been marinated in a sewer. I have no idea how many days that mess had been festering!. I had a terrible experience with BlaBlaCar Bus that went far beyond a simple travel inconvenience.
My bus was delayed by over 3 hours (190 minutes). During this time, customer service repeatedly told us the bus was still on its way — giving false hope and preventing us from arranging alternative transport. Then, more than 7 hours after the scheduled departure, I received an email saying the trip had been cancelled entirely.
By that point, it was too late to make other arrangements. I was stranded in Geneva, one of the most expensive cities in Europe, and forced to pay for an unplanned overnight stay and meals — entirely due to BlaBlaCar’s delay and misinformation.
When I contacted support for help with these costs, I received a polite but unacceptable response:
No reimbursement for the hotel or meals
Just a choice between a 125% voucher or a 100% refund of the ticket
No accountability for the delay, misinformation, or financial burden they caused
To make matters worse, BlaBlaCar claims in their Terms & Conditions to follow EU Regulation (EC) No 181/2011, which entitles passengers to accommodation, meals, and assistance during long delays or cancellations that require an overnight stay.
Despite this, they refused to cover any of my costs — clearly violating their own stated obligations under EU law.
This wasn’t just poor planning. It was misleading communication, a failure to take responsibility, and a breach of passenger rights.
Update:
I followed BlaBlaCar’s instructions and contacted them again via the form they provided. I submitted my receipts, quoted Article 21 of the regulation, and clearly explained that the cancellation — communicated after 9 PM — left no alternative but to stay overnight.
Their reply? They ignored the legal references, refused to reimburse the hotel, and repeated the same basic refund/voucher offer — as if 7+ hours of misinformation and being left stranded in a foreign city were insignificant.
Worse, support refused to escalate the issue or provide any real accountability. They dodged direct questions and dismissed my legitimate claim.
BlaBlaCar’s handling of this wasn’t just unprofessional — it was a clear violation of the passenger protections they publicly claim to follow.
If you're considering BlaBlaCar Bus for long-distance or time-sensitive travel: don’t. The prices may be low, but if anything goes wrong, you're completely on your own.

Four cancellations in a single day—using possibly the worst mode of transport—and I still haven’t received my refund, despite the fault clearly lying with the driver and BlaBlaCar. This has been incredibly frustrating and completely ruined my vacation in France this time.

they started selling tickets without having a minibus at those times, I had to buy my ticket at midnight from another transport company, and no support from the staff, and no online help... I sent messages and emails to get my money back and they didn't even reply
This company is a disgrace. Canceled the bus 10 minutes before during lunch time.
No explanation. No compensation for lunch. No refund proposed. They should be ashamed to be so poorly customer oriented. They complicate all your plans. They don’t care they don’t compensate they don’t explain. Truly the worst in transport.

In the base of the idea it's a great thing sure, and yeah there were positive experiences, but nowadays we are speaking of a platform full of scam and people who bend the rules, whereas BlaBla themselves don't seem to mind. My latest experience - I booked a 3 hours drive in Germany, after already accepting the "driver" told me that the actual driver would be his father, who doesn't speak English so well. Well, that something that would be good to be communicated ahead, but as I needed to arrive not too late to my next destination I had no choice. In the "driver" profile it is clearly stated "no smoking", however I was a passive smoker in his father's car. And then because I was late (my fault, I take responsibility) -BlaBla car also with complete lack of sense removed the feature with the steps icon to show you how far or close the pickup location is. which definitely makes things harder. So the son, who never met me leave me a bad reference, and I ask the support team of BlaBla car, how can a person who never met me can testify about an experience he "had" with me? Although he was right about me being late, I was always polite and in the end of the day it was his father's choice to wait. and he wrote and simply lied I was "negotiating" the drop off location, whereas I simply tried to ask if it was possible to drop off in a different place, once said no I said I ok. Again this is has to do with a person not knowing the road. So I ask myself in what world a reference like this would be valid? BlaBla car responded with robotic responses, refused to delete the review which was left for me from a person who never met me and have stopped answering. I don't recommend anyone to use this platform. it is a haven for scammers and people who misuse it.

I recently had a terrible experience with BlaBlaCar Bus. I got to the station half an hour before the scheduled departure. The bus still wasn’t there when it was supposed to leave. We were all standing around confused.
Then, 20 minutes after the departure time, a message appeared in the BlaBlaCar app saying the bus would be delayed by 90 minutes.
I decided to take a walk around the area and planned to be back before the new announced time — 7:52. When I came back at 7:45, the bus was already gone. Apparently, they shortened the delay.
What the hell is this? If they announce a new departure time, how can they just change it again? How the hell is anyone supposed to plan their life around that? Do they think we’re just slaves to these companies that can’t manage their own operations?
Many fake accounts being created particularly on the journey to France to profit from last minute Fete de la Musique travellers. The platform must ensure drivers are verified before users are booked

I was insulted by a driver in their feedback left on the site. I can handle negative feedback when it is justified as I happily take responsibility for my own actions but in this case the driver was lying and intent on humiliating and so I contacted customer service providing them with evidence.
I might as well not have bothered. Customer service couldn't have cared less if they tried. Basically, as long as the person leaving a review doesn't directly say the f or b or n words or similar then anyone can be as lying, deranged and caustic as they like. Vive la France!
The extremely low average rating on Trustpilot is completely deserved and a warning to anyone who wishes to use their services. If you ever get an issue whilst using them, you'll be on your own.

Avoid BlaBlaBus. Booked a ticket, showed up early at the pickup spot, and the bus just never came. When I complained, they had the nerve to say 21 people got on — a total lie. I was there the whole time and can prove it.
Customer support was no help. They basically called me a liar and closed the case. I’ve never dealt with such a careless attitude from a travel company. I’ll be warning others not to trust them.

We waited at the allocated bus stop for over an hour - tried calling, no answer, tried emailing numerous times, no response. We had to buy train tickets and lose money already paid to them. Impossible to deal with these people. Stay away!
