Great ocean views

Great ocean views, of course, they are RIGHT on the ocean. The pizza was great, the capuccino was smooth. The black leather sofas are relaxing and.. they are open till midnight. I saw the other reviews, and can only say, NOT REAL. NIce clean place with good service.

Tijuana's Dirtiest and Worst Restaurant

Tijuana's Dirtiest Disappointment: A Night at the Black Dog Cafe
The salty air of Tijuana teased my nose as I walked towards the Black Dog Cafe. As a recent transplant from San Diego, I was eager to explore the vibrant nightlife of this Mexican border town. Little did I know, my culinary adventure was about to take a nosedive into a pit of disappointment.

The cafe's name seemed to hold a certain promise of quirky charm, but the reality was far from it. A dingy, dusty atmosphere greeted me as I stepped inside. Cracked tiles lined the floor, the ceiling looked like it was contemplating a dramatic collapse, and the furniture – well, let's just say it looked like it had seen better days.

The bathrooms were a horror story waiting to be written. Graffiti adorned the walls like morbid poetry, and the toilet… let's just say it wouldn't win any cleanliness awards. My date and I exchanged a look of silent disgust, both desperately wishing we had chosen differently.

My hunger pangs, however, were insistent. Hoping against hope, I placed an order for a large pepperoni pizza. What arrived was an insult to the very concept of pizza. Thin, doughy, and sporting a suspicious resemblance to a 7-Eleven frozen special, it was a culinary tragedy in cardboard disguise.

Each bite was a struggle, the cardboard crust resisting my every chew. The pepperoni, sparsely scattered like confetti on a battlefield, lacked any semblance of flavor. A sense of despair settled over the table, erasing any hope of a pleasant evening.

To add insult to injury, the prices were absurdly high. My lukewarm coffee, barely deserving the name, felt like a personal attack on my taste buds and wallet. Looking around, I couldn't help but notice the pristine windows of the Crepa Factory across the street, customers cheerfully indulging in what looked like actual food.

The irony was not lost on me. As I choked down the last bite of the inedible pizza, I couldn't help but feel a surge of regret. This was not the Tijuana experience I had imagined. The Black Dog Cafe had not only failed to satisfy my hunger, but it had also managed to suck the joy out of the entire evening.

Leaving the cafe, I felt a sense of betrayal. Tijuana, with all its potential for adventure and culinary delights, had offered me a plate of disappointment. The Black Dog Cafe, a monument to neglect and poor hygiene, had served as a stark reminder that even in a vibrant city, tourist traps still lurk, waiting to prey on the unsuspecting.

My advice to fellow travelers? Steer clear of the Black Dog Cafe. Its faded glory and overpriced culinary disasters are not worth your time or money. Tijuana has so much more to offer, and your taste buds (and wallet) will thank you for exploring it.

Black Dog Cafe, Never Again

My Most Unpleasant Experience at Black Dog Cafe, Playas De Tijuana

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in Playas de Tijuana, and I was looking forward to a relaxing visit to my usual haunt, Black Dog Cafe. I had been a regular customer for years, so my expectations were high. Little did I know, this visit would turn out to be a memorable disappointment.

As I entered the cafe, I noticed it was bustling with activity, and it seemed like a great day to unwind. I found an open seat at the bar and settled in. I decided to keep it simple by ordering a cup of coffee and a slice of pie. After all, Black Dog Cafe had always been known for its comforting coffee and delectable desserts.

The coffee arrived first, but it was disappointingly lukewarm. I decided to give it a chance, thinking perhaps the first sip was an anomaly. Unfortunately, the following sips confirmed that the coffee was, in fact, cold and lackluster. I set it aside and turned my attention to the pie.

With high hopes, I took a bite of the pie, only to find it dry and stale. It was far from the delightful treat I had experienced in the past. I decided to mention my concerns to the cashier, hoping that they would address the issue or offer an alternative. But to my dismay, the bartender seemed disinterested and casually shrugged off my complaint, saying, "That's the way it is sometimes."

I struggled to enjoy my meal, but it was challenging when I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being taken for granted as a loyal customer. I decided to just go next door to the other cafe, Crepa Factory.

With a heavy heart, I exited the cafe, promising myself that I would never return. My long-lasting connection with Black Dog Cafe was shattered in that one unfortunate visit.

As I vented my frustration to friends and family, I realized that I wasn't alone in my disappointment. Others had shared similar stories, recounting their experiences with poor food quality, indifferent service, and unsanitary conditions.

I'm not entirely sure what happened to Black Dog Cafe, but it was evident that something had changed for the worse. The cafe I had once cherished had deteriorated, leaving a sour taste in the mouths of many loyal patrons.

Based on my recent encounter and the myriad of negative reviews from other customers, I can no longer endorse or recommend Black Dog Cafe. It's disheartening to say, but I believe it's in everyone's best interest to explore the numerous other dining options available in Playas de Tijuana.
