While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

The director and owner Max is a fraudster. He takes money and then doesn’t complete work - many former customers have had issues with him. He is hard to contact, and tells lies when you can contact him. Despite us having a legally binding contract with agreed milestones and payment amounts, he called me out of the blue and said I had to pay him more or he couldn’t do any work. I asked where all the money I had already paid him had gone and couldn’t answer. Eventually after I kept pressing, he sent a totally made up breakdown of costs including £1000 in delivery fees, a £500 admin fee, and a £500 accountancy fee (?!)

Please do not work with Blackdown and Batten, Ultra Vires, or any other company associated with Max Willoughby the builder.

Additionally, he asks clients to pay his personal account instead of his business account in order to avoid tax (I have proof).

I am now taking legal action.
