I had the pleasure to be in invited to the ope of the first key worker facing property in the UK built by Black Flamingo Homes. This has been designed, developed and built buy a key worker for key workers. From someone who understands the struggles, the needs and has lived them herself.

The space created is amazing, gives privacy and a sense of belonging.

It is not a boring room in another house with white walls that is uninviting. The rooms all have their own bathrooms, TV , snacking area and fridge. They are inviting and give you plenty of space.

Had the pleasure of visiting this HMO today and it looks brilliant! You can really see the thought and care that's gone into every room. The finish is fantastic, the spaces are bright, clean and modern and it feels like a proper home rather than just somewhere to stay.

Creating quality accommodation specifically for key workers is such a great idea and it's clear the people living here are going to be really well looked after. Visited this property today and what a stunning finish and use of space. Parked outside the property no problem. The top room is my favourite use of space - an absolute haven. And the basement cinema and utility room is fabulous! Great job, what a home for those key workers in our community.

I had the chance to view Black Flamingo Homes' first key worker accommodation property, and it's honestly hard to overstate how impressive this is. As someone who understands the daily pressures faced by police officers, firefighters, teachers, and nurses, seeing a development actually built for them — rather than as an afterthought — feels long overdue.

The property itself is a genuine surprise in the best way. Six bedrooms, each with its own private kitchenette, means residents get real independence and privacy rather than the cramped, shared-everything setups so often associated with "affordable" or subsidised housing. The finish throughout is genuinely high-end — think quality fixtures, thoughtful layouts, and a level of craftsmanship you'd expect in premium private rentals, not typically in accommodation aimed at public sector workers. Every detail, from the kitchenette fittings to the overall build quality, shows real care and investment rather than corners being cut.
