Cowboys and Robbers

Do not bother wasting your time buying a vehicle from these cowboys. Bought and collected a car on the 1st of October 20 and was back there 10 days later after having the car independently assessed at which I was told a valid MOT certificate that was obtained for the purchase was unlawfully issued as there were numerous fails on the car. They took my old car - given £150 scrap for it - of which i have just seen he is selling for £995.00!! Spent a total of £2160.00 and was refused and given no other ultimatum of leaving £535 down. Forced into agreeing terms otherwise he wouldn’t do refund and i was stuck with a car with numerous faults and possible unreported cat - possible front ended. I’m have now been lied to, conned, bank account lighter and no cat!!!

Horrendous customer service

The customer service there is so poor. In the 3+ years I’ve been their customer I’ve not found one helpful person who works there. Paper work takes a ridiculous amount of time to be sent, callbacks are just as bad and usually you end up with someone more useless than the last calling you back. Not a company I’ll deal with again. I can’t imagine their staff are looked after, all a bunch of monotonous robots who are lacking in basic intelligence

This company shows no empathy

This company shows no empathy, no common sense and certainly dont listen to the customer. I was involved in a RTC which left me in hospital needing spinal surgery for 3 months. The accident was not my fault and Blackhorse were made aware that my insurance company along with gap insurance were to settle my account in full. In the meantime I missed 3 payment and was blacklisted on my credit report. I tried to explain the fact i was in hospital and was more concerned about if i would walk again but they disbelieved everything i said even though a gave them evidence to back up my claims.
The complaints team are a sham, they made there minds up even before all the evidence was in front of them. They even still accused me of lying even though it was written on paper in front of them.
Your not a person with this company, just a number who makes them money. I have now referred this to the financial ombudsman.
Avoid at all costs is my advice !!!!!

A Disgrace

Absolutely appalling - never answer calls, respond to emails months late and only when forced to do so, delay orders of new cars and don't get back to repair services thus necessitating multiple visits. Utterly incompetent - I am amazed that are still in business.

Extremely poor customer services

Really disappointed and won't be reusing them and would urge others not to also. I was promised that i could pay my lease on the 16th of every month which you think would be simple. For lex it isn't and they have taken three payments in the first 28 days but can i get them to address the problem, no. They say put it in an email which i did but they never respond as the customer services team are unable to answer the questions simply saying it's a process issue and promising it is fixed but it never changes and they never get back to you which is really annoying as i don't have the time to keep chasing them. I even have the email promising it is sorted but it never was. God knows what's going to happen next month.dont let it be you and stay clear.

Never again!

Poor customer service and does NOT care about the inconveniences they or your particular dealer causing you. The only thing they care about is their own interest! and the money they are making from you!

This was the case when I purchased a faulty vehicle from Peter Vardy at Edinburgh Seafield branch. In addition to this, I was told I cannot cancel the contract, however, with a great help from Financial Ombudsman I have managed to cancel this contract return the vehicle and get my money back. This process took 7 months but at least I am not paying for a faulty car or bad service any more!

Failure to launch but all systems go in the end.

Large second-hand supermarket with a huge choice of ex-lease cars. They dispose of Lex Autolease cars which are owned by the Lloyds banking group.

Purchased a BMW 3 series from them recently. When I went to pick up the car there was an electrical fault which had been spotted on the test drive but was put down to a flat battery. As the car still had a full BMW warranty it was taken to BMW for repair. I was offered a full refund but thought I would see if BMW could fix the problem. I was given a courtesy car to get me home. Unfortunately, the next time I went to pick up the car the same thing happened. It went back to BMW but they failed to fix it again. At this point I was offered a refund but they had an identical make and model which had just come in which I purchased instead. I was given a good discount for my trouble and a full tank of fuel to cover my fuel costs.
I'm very pleased with my new car.
These problems could happen to any car and I was treated fairly and professionally by all the staff. I'm glad I was dealing with a good company and not a cowboy used car dealership.
I would go back in a couple of years to look for another car.
