We also convert and re-enamel existing Aga cookers and have a carefully curated cookshop with many original products. Check if you have Section 75 protection

I used to work here and left nearly a year ago. It's devastating to see how many people have been let down. If you paid over £100 on a credit card then you should have Section 75 protection, which means your credit card company is joint liable with Blake & Bull and you may be able to reclaim what you've spent. I've no doubt that there will be many more people that have been badly let down, but if this review helps just one person then it will have been worth it. I'm so sorry for everyone who has been affected by this

Companies House

I was lucky enough to buy my Everhot from somebody else, but I do suggest those who have lost money here might want to look at the records for this company on the Companies House website. I’m not an accountant, so I don’t know how significant this is, but it does look a little odd.

BLAKE AND BULL has gone bust.
Was meant to have my AGA conversion done in Feb, and already paid £5k. Have been in touch with them as recently as 2 weeks ago and nobody said anything.

Disgraceful company owners

Tried to contact them over the weekend to confirm my Aga conversation appointment for Monday. Phone message said we were helping other customers and to leave a
message but no one called back. Then we checked the website and saw they had creased trading. They have £7,000 of our money. The owner of this company has no scruples. This is disgraceful. Just had a reply from the Administrator saying we won’t be getting our money back. Now I have to pay for the electrical work our electrician did. More expensive. Money is hard earned to then have a company steal it. Disgusting.

Stolen £5000 of our money. No moral compass.

Due to have our aga converted next week. Paid in full in October but they couldn't fit us in until the start of February. Went on their website yesterday as hadn't heard anything from them to see they have ceased trading. They've got £5000 of our money that we could ill afford to lose. They would have been aware they were in a mess when they got us to pay - even then they tried to upsell heaps of stuff (thank goodness I said no). Zero communication from them or their administrators. Absolutely disgusting. They have zero moral compass.

Took our money in full and never passed…

Took our money in full and never passed it onto the manufacturer who called me to say I would not be receiving my stove as they have not been paid. No attempt made by the company to contact me and no response to any of my emails. Disgraceful.

Paid lots of money for them to ruin my Aga

I ordered an electrical conversion for my gas Aga and am so very disappointed with the result - I used to cook exclusively on the Aga in winter, now I barely use it. I wasn’t aware that the hot plates now require 15 minutes to warm up and you can’t leave them on high with the lid down or the element burns out, so I just use my induction hob. The roasting oven still works, but completely differently because it’s very very hot at the bottom and the simmering oven doesn’t… simmer. It might if I turned it up higher but then the roasting oven would be too hot, so I simmer on my induction hob too. The response from Blake and Bill when I rang them was ‘you would have been advised of all that when you booked’. I was also disappointed that they sold me an ‘electrikit’ a few weeks before they launched the classic, which appears to be the product which addresses these issues - it seems they were prioritising clearing out their warehouse over customer satisfaction. I’m so gutted. I used to love my Aga now it’s next to useless.

Well what can I say… no communication…

Well what can I say… no communication from this company to update me on my Aga fitting-just went on the website as an off chance to get the company telephone number as they were supposed to fit my new Aga on 25th Jan ‘25 and saw they had cease trading… and I paid in full back in September ‘24 as they said they were so busy they could not fit me in until late Jan ‘25.

Why have we not been advised?

Ceased trading

They should have turned up today to remove our Aga and install a new one tomorrow. After extensive phone calls I contacted a local company who told me they had ceased trading yesterday.

Excellent experience of aga renovation

Excellent experience of aga renovation. Very clean operation using an enormous vacuum cleaner to remove the original insulation. Reconditioned parts were assembled with speed and skill. A swift solution to an unexpected problem with the original top oven was arrived at and a replacement swiftly despatched. Good advice was given on rerouting the oil feed. The finished product is superb - a stunning colour and bright and shiny. Three years on and it still looks just like new.

From first phone call to discuss…

From the first phone call to discuss the conversion of our oil run Aga to electric, to the actual conversion, was dealt with in a professional and very friendly manner.
Joe and Owen turned up in the snow. They were friendly, polite, professional and tidy.
Joe explained everything to me including how to operate the new controls.
Highly recommended.

First Class

From initial enquiry through to the final re-enamel, Blake and Bull were first class. Having worked with them previously to convert our aga to the E-kit system, we knew we could trust them with the colour change and we're delighted with the finished product. From the office team (Nicola and Chris in this case), through to the Ross the engineer, the team ensured we understood the process, timelines we laid out and the delivery on the day was excellent.
We'd highly recommend Blake and Bull.

I was dreading the possible noise

I was dreading the possible noise, mess and disruption of converting my old electric aga to the new eco way of working but I needn't have worried. From the moment Jason arrived he reassured me that everything would be pristine by the time he left and he was true to his word. He was polite, friendly and, most importantly, extremely efficient. Very knowledgeable about the workings of the aga which meant he was able to persevere whenever there were slight issues with the job! I actually enjoyed a day I had been dreading. It hasn't been cold enough to run the aga yet but I have been left feeling confident that the work I have had done will prove to be worth every penny. Jason also made sure that I know how to use my 'new' aga effectively! Thank you!

What an excellent company

What an excellent company. Kept me informed every step of the way. So polite and helpful. Removed Aga very quickly and cleared up everything. Site was left clean and tidy. Cannot recommend them enough.

Top Marks!

From our first foray to Bath to talk through the options for our Aga that was on the old AIMS system, to the ordering process and completion of the works by Joe this week, the whole process has been very slick!
Joe (the fitter/engineer) turned up exactly on time, completed the strip down and rebuild to the time he said, and left no mark or mess anywhere!
Yes we have to 're-learn' the new system and how it interacts with our way of using the Aga, but we are sure in a very short time we will have it sussed! Highly commended and recommended.
