Great shirts that I have bought a number of. After what I thought was a customer service issue turned out to be a missing email issue Blake Mill were quick to reach out and get everything sorted. Very happy.

These products are beautifully made

These products are beautifully made, feel high quality, and packaged nicely. I returned a couple of items just because they weren't quite right for me, but I'm very happy with my polo shirt. Very easy return process and Blake Mill refunded the payment very quickly!

I'll def order again.

Disappointment on latest designs.

I have purchased many Blake Mill shirts that I was very pleased with but I recently pre ordered the Short sleeve Laurel Leaves & Maroon Crocodile shirts. I was quite disappointed to see that both the shirts were no where near the colours advertised on their website. The material felt quite cheap & the colours were very faded in comparison. I don’t understand how the quality has all of a sudden deteriorated. I have sent them back for a full refund & will be looking to see how their products fair in the future.

Robert, it's Ken from Blake Mill. I'm very sorry to learn of your recent poor experience. We are in the process of expanding our product range which includes more subdued colours and new fabrics. Colour vibrancy is a really tough characteristic to perfectly represent on a computer screen such that it looks identical in person. Lighting has a lot to do with it as well. As for the fabric, we really wanted to go for a more lightweight option for summer (not that this July warrants it...). I can understand how because the fabric is lighter one could perceive it to be cheaper. I assure you it is not however the main point is whether you like it or not. With that in mind, we are happy to receive your return and refund you in full. We don't get it right for every customer every time. We do hope you will consider future products. We remain committed to quality and uniqueness. Thank you for your business to date!

Unbelievably Disappointing

I buy lots of shirts and mistakenly thought for the price, a Blake Mill shirt would be really good quality, but I ended up very disappointed.
The material used is very cheap, thin and of primark quality at best, probably mass produced in turkey or the far east.
The shirt I ordered was £105 but in reality it was really a £30 shirt.
The shirt designs are good and the website paints a quality picture, however, the product supplied was woefully poor.
I don't think I would buy from this company again.

Ken , to your credit, you eventualy responded to my review, however, you are deluded, the shirt I bought was actually long sleeved and not summer lightweight.
By chance, I actually looked at it alongside my other shirts this morning and thought, I can't believe I paid £105 for that cheap quality shirt, which was wholly my mistake.
Undoubtedly you will have damaged your brand, by putting profit in front of quality.
The concept was good, but you should check the quality of Charles Tyrwitt, whose fabrics are much better at quarter of the price.

It's Ken from Blake Mill. I'm very sorry that you were disappointed with our product. We have been expanding our product range rapidly this year which includes experimenting with different fabrics. It sounds like you have tried our new short sleeve shirt made of a lighter fabric which was intentional in order to make it feel more comfortable in hot weather. The fabric may feel cheap because it is thin but it is not cheap!

Also, we work with the same factory that makes our heavier cotton dress shirts and I can assure you that the same high standards are used for cutting and sewing the garment so that it will last for a long time. Regardless of that, we've missed your expectations and are therefore happy to receive this return order and fully refund your money. I would encourage you to try out one of our long sleeve range which are made of heavier cotton. Thank you in any case for giving Blake Mill a try!

Returns portal wasnt working did not…

Returns portal wasnt working did not accept the order number that they provided couldn't get through on the phone. online chat kept me waiting and waiting and told me to be patient. Returns should not be made so difficult and for that reason I will not order again.

Good quality and value

Ordered some time ago so apologies for the delay on reviewing! Very happy with the purchase. Bought a shirt for my brother and he was very happy with the design and quality. Hopefully he’ll now become a customer directly!

Cheap material , poor quality feel

Good looking designs , v poor quality cheap feeling material. Easier route to for them to make money
than by selling a high quality material. They are probably making these in Turkey for a few quid and selling them for over £100. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Hi, it's Ken from Blake Mill responding very late. However, for the benefit of viewers of this review, our shirts are made to an extremely high quality standard. Several British expert shirt makers have compared our product to their custom product and found almost no difference. The fabric is high quality cotton. I appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion however my business partner Steve and I have invested significant time and money into developing what most of our customers consider to be a top quality product. Regardless however, anyone who tries our product and for any reason does not like it is entitled to a 100%, no questions asked refund. And of course, there is a possibility that this reviewer received a faulty product in which case I apologise. We try to ensure any substandard product is spotted and taken out of circulation before it gets shipped to a customer.

Fantastic designs - cheap feeling cotton and construction

I bought 2 Blake Mill shirts last week for the unique designs. The designs of their shirts are really fantastic. When they arrived I was first delighted to see the design and colour were exactly as they appeared online. Then I felt the material and looked more closely at the construction. That's when I couldn't help feel disappointed. I have a large number of Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, 'midrange', a cut above M&S but still £25-30 shirts when ordered as a bunch of 5. My CT shirts look and feel much better in terms of cotton and construction quality. The Blake Mill shirts seem to be a poplin weave. Comparing them to some CT Poplin shirts, the BM is thinner and less soft. Wearing the lighter coloured BM shirt (a binary code design) I can easily see my skin tone underneath. This is not the case with my light coloured CT Poplin shirts, which are not translucent under normal lighting. If I went to Primark and bought a white cotton shirt for £12, I'd expect that kind of thin cotton. I say that but I actually have an old Primark white cotton shirt and it's not as transparent as the BM. But this is a £100+ shirt.. Then about the construction, the collar and centre button strips feel comparatively flimsy with much less/thinner interfacing that I'd expect from a well made smart-casual or evening shirt. The cut is reasonably decent though. So, very mixed feelings about my purchase. Really love the designs and will keep them for the occasional wear, but the other aspects of the shirt mean I'm unlikely to buy more.

It's Ken from Blake Mill with a ridiculously late response to your review for which I profusely apologise. We only just found these Trust Pilot reviews as we had not previously registered with them. Now that we have I'm working through the comments.

I'm also sorry that you were disappointed with your order. We have invested a lot of energy sourcing high quality fabric, printing and manufacturing. From a construction point of view, we've been compared favourably to custom shirt tailors. Fabric is always a subjective thing. My business partner Steve and I have an ongoing debate. He likes his cotton shirts to be made of thick fabric and I much prefer thin. What we have ended up on is a mid-weight poplin for our printed shirts. Poplin is the best fabric weave for printed shirts as it receives the ink most uniformly.

Part of the cost of making these shirts involves the entire design process for the artwork that gets printed onto the shirts. Cutting and sewing is more complicated as a result of the prints and of course printing the fabric itself involves cost.

Regardless of any of this, the issue at hand is what do you like and value. We are expanding our range at the moment so I hope you will give some of our new products a try. And if you don't like them, you can as always return them at no charge.

Blake Mill (Affordable Quality designer shirts).

Blake Mill (Quality designer shirts).
I have given Blake Mill a very bell deserved 5 star rating for the following reason. A good while ago, I purchased 6 of their shirts in the size that would normally fit me comfortable.
Unfortunately for medical reasons I was unable to try them on for some little while (way past the returns date). When I eventually got round to it I found them to be too small, but as it was past the returns date accepted my fate.
Last week I was asked if I would leave a review, which I was happy to do (no incentive was made). I wanted to advise customers to make sure of the size they were ordering. The following day a young lady Sabrina contacted me and apologised for the sizing issue. I was asked to provide photos of the shirts, which of course I did. I was then astounded to learn that Blake Mill were prepared to go the extra mile, and offer vouchers to the value of my purchase or replacement.
I have nothing but praise for Sabrina as you would expect, but with the service Blake Mill provide, I will have no hesitation in using the as my main supplier. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is to be applauded. Roger (truthfully unbiased review).

Appalling service - will not use again

Ordered a shirt shown in stock, took my money and then casually told me they have stock issues and can't fulfill my order.
Shambles and left me running around for an alternative

Andy, we've only just discovered these Trust Pilot reviews as we have not subscribed to their service to date so I owe you two apologies - (1) for being outrageously slow to respond and (2) for the poor experience you had with your order. Focussing on issue (2), we did indeed have some issues at that time with our inventory system getting out of sync. And it is possible that due to it being XMas that our support team was more succinct than usual.

We do strive to provide excellent product and excellent service and, for the most part we seem to do well honouring these customer commitments. In this case however we have clearly failed to deliver to you and for that I apologise. Thank you for given us a try in any case.

Refund slow

I purchased two shirts on May 15th, delivered very promptly on May 17th but were left out in the rain by their couriers, not their fault. I returned the shirts the next day, May 18th on their 48 service. Refund issued into my account on June 15th. Very slow in issuing refund. Love their shirts though just a disappointing refund time. 😕

As per my response to Andy above I'm very sorry for the ridiculously long delay at responding to this review. We've only just found these Trust Pilot reviews and registered with them so that we can respond.

We were having a horrible time with couriers in 2021 and made several switches to see if we could improve return delivery times. Most recently we have implemented an online returns portal which means that we find out straight away once a customer has registered a return and we can therefore move more quickly on exchanges and refunds.

This is clearly not a lot of help 2 years on but in case you do see this response rest assured, you should have a better experience with us now!
