My honest review of Jade Plus as Hardware Wallet

Keep in mind that I am writing this review after 1 day getting a brand new Jade Plus.

Setup: On the website they position Jade Plus as FULLY Airgapped wallet, which in mind of normal peron means that you don't need anything but your wallet to interact with network - well in case of Jade it's not completely true. To use in AirGap mode you have two options to login:

Option 1. Every time you need to unlock Jade, you have to go to BS verifier and verify your PIN there, it will give you back QR code which you scan with Jade and so unlock it.
Problem here: I am not AirGapped completely, I still need some other service provider to access my keys. So let's imagine if BS web-server fails - well sucks to be you then:)

Option 2. QR Compact Seed - your wallet will generate you QR code which represents your seed phrase. They give you a special paper template in the box to draw it down. Then every time you need to unlock the wallet you have to scan this QR code to unlock.
Problem here: Well literally why don't I just carry my seed in my cardholder, it's literally same isn't it?

BTW: During this QR Seed setup (it takes quite a time if generating 24-word seed), it just ran off battery. Of course it didn't remember the state of setup, so now I have to try again but already with 12-word setup, because the paper for 24 is wasted:)

Bluetooth connection: Only in native Green app. Of course Sparrow or Electrum never heard of Bluetooth connections, bruh.

What is left? Well USB direct connection or use a USB flash drive. Anyway it is a direct medium connection.

You setup QR PIN and BS verifier fails/companny passes away - well I hope you have your seed stored, get a new wallet, not Jade this time pls.
You setup Bluetooth and BS app fails - same.
You setup QR Seed unlock - be ready to have compact version of your seed by hand every time you have to do something. If someone captures it - recovery of this QR is doable by average student who passed basic cryptography course.

Now let's sum up what we have. For $160 you are getting USB wallet with primitive functionality(desing and quality of materials are outstanding, cannot say anything bad about it).
But hey, for $60 you also can get a USB wallet with pretty desingn - Trezor.

So I am a lot dissapointed in here. And hey, I have been doing research for a while, I did not just click on "Buy" on the first page indexed for "btc cold wallet" in google. Literally those things are not to be found scrolling Jade overview. I have only discovered the mechanism after digging into documentation.

So be aware what you are buying:)

Blockstream has no ethics

Blockstream has arbitrarily blocked my Assets. Several times, I have respectfully requested to release them however I have received no solution. It seems to be I have been a victim of a crime like fraud or theft.

DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY HERE THEY ARE…

DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY HERE THEY ARE BEYOND ME NEGLIGENCE. I could give them zero stars I would. Their customer service is disgustingly non existent. I hesitate to even use that to define what they consider a suggestion that they might answer in a week maybe two regarding serious transaction and I'm account issues.

Not user friendly!!

BS offers random addresses in Green. I was trying to send BC to Jade. I used the address provided by Green. It is all gone.$8900. POOF. BS would do nothing. Be careful what you are doing. I would highly not recommend Blockstream.

This company will steal your bitcoin…

This company will steal your bitcoin right out of your wallet, then tell you to never trust anyone who messages you on telegram, even after you tell them you messaged the admin first.

So my story took place about a month ago, my blockstream green wallet stopped working(I couldn’t send or recieve anything annd I couldn’t make anny sort of changes to my account and I was getting the error “com.greenaddress.error”. Which they claim is because you are using their older wallet and not their most recent…even when you are. Anyways I messaged them off their site explaining my wallet wasn’t working and send them the error explaining that I am using the most updated wallet and I recieved a generic ass email from someone who didn’t even read my issue and just responded that I needed to download the most recent wallet which I was already using. Not wanting to wait another few days for a response I went to their telegram page and messaged an admin. For the next 24 hours this guy tried 100 different things to trouble shoot and to get my wallet working. Finally the next day I get a message from the same account(the previous messages were still logged so I know it was the same account) saying that he thinks he got my account working and to try to do something with it. Now I had read online that the 2fa by phone was shorty and it’s best to use email. So I went in to my account and changed my 2fa to my email and with in the few seconds of me switching someone who had all my account info sent the 1000 dollars on a wallet hopping spree. In a panic I go back to their site explaining the situation to their support and if there was a way to cancel a transaction that hadn’t been confirmed. Also explaining to them that one of their employees is in the process of stealing my money(no response till the next day)and when it did come it was a generic response saying they will never message you first on telegram(even though I had explained to them that I message them first initially. So after all is said and done and I have come to terms that they stole 1000 bucks from me I go onto the apple AppStore and leave a review explaining the situation, to try and warn people about the thievery they allow in this company. And my review was no longer there. I did some google investigating and learned that apps can remove negative reviews after they do a software update. So please be aware and stay away from this wallet.
