I’m new to the disabled side of life and Blue Badge Co were easy to deal with and understanding in my issues. I had an issue with Royal Mail and Blue Badge Co resolved it quickly and without fuss. The customer service was warming and easy to talk to, thank you.

Selling for profit at disabled people's cost…

They sell Radar keys to anyone without asking for any proof of disabilities whether obvious or hidden,just because they can legally, meaning thousands of people can access disabled toilets just to jump a queue. This means many of us in genuine need of immediate access to a disabled toilet might soil ourselves while waiting. This is unnacceptable, it's humiliating, seriously affects mental health, which stops us going out. Also, how do we get home in that state? Taxis wouldn't take us, we couldn't get on buses or trains stained, soaked, and stinking, and many of us couldn't walk too far.

A Company that Does Listen and Rectifies a Problem

I’m quite at a loss with this company and am resorting to write a review in order to contact them.

On 14th January I ordered a Radar key and key ring. I immediately received an email saying they had my order and I’d get a tracking code as soon as my order ships. That is the last communication I’ve had with them.

I’ve sent two emails to them but have not even had acknowledgment of those from them.

A couple of things make me somewhat suspicious. If it is a British company, sending goods to someone in the UK, then nothing would be “shipped”. It would be posted.

They do not have any telephone contact; you can only email. I have a feeling that this company (or part of it) is in China.

I’m looking forward to reading their reply on here and I will update this review if anything happens. At the moment the company has taken my money and not sent me my goods.

PS: as can be seen below, I did get an answer from the company and I found them to be caring and kind in their reply. They recognised my distress and have, with another, private message, restored my confidence in them. I will use them again.

Promises of care, reality of silence!

Extremely disappointing service and no follow-up at all.

I contacted Blue Badge Co in early December about a blue badge wallet I bought a few years ago. The plastic had discoloured and gone stiff, which makes it unpleasant to use. I explained the issue clearly and provided photos.

After weeks of silence and chasing, I eventually received a reply offering 50% off buying a new wallet. Given that this appears to be a known issue with earlier designs, I felt a replacement would have been more appropriate.

I replied politely, explaining this and asking whether they would consider replacing it free of charge. That email was sent a month ago. I have heard absolutely nothing since.

Being ignored after following up is worse than the original problem. For a company that markets itself as a “family business” making products for disabled people, the lack of communication and accountability is deeply disappointing.

Between the product degrading and the complete absence of customer support, I no longer trust Blue Badge Co to support me as a customer. I won’t be buying from them again.

Your permit cover was purchased a few years ago via Amazon, which unfortunately falls outside our warranty period, and we don’t offer a lifetime guarantee on any of our products. That said, we wanted to help and offered a 50% discount on a new permit cover as a gesture of goodwill, without requesting proof of purchase.

Normally, for orders made through Amazon, any issues are usually handled directly by them. Given the length of time since your original purchase, it’s unlikely they would be able to assist, but we always want to do what we can for our customers.

The issue you mentioned isn’t a known fault with our older designs. We’re always reviewing and improving our products, and our current wallets have been upgraded to be more durable. This doesn’t mean the older designs weren’t durable, but we’re constantly looking to make them better.

While we understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, we always aim to be fair and supportive to our customers. Feel free to reach out if there's anything else we can do to help!

Doubt Their 'Free' Radar Key Offer

Placed an order for a radar key and badge holder. Shortly afterward I received an email with an offer for a 'free' radar key. I emailed, asking them to include the 'free offer' in the parcel.

They would not but would send it out for £3.95. I think it is a 'click and bait' offer issued by this company.

Will not place another with them and conclude this is a dubious offer; would not recommend this company, based on my experience. They could have sent a radar key as a goodwill gesture.

I honestly do not understand who shops…

I honestly do not understand who shops at Blue Badge Co. Their products are extremely overpriced. A Blue Badge cover they sell for around £25–£35 can be found on Amazon for under £4, with similar quality, a nicer design, and free returns if you have Prime. Their keyrings and other items are also unnecessarily expensive. It feels like everything is priced as if money is no object.

Their returns policy is disappointing as well. I recently bought a badge from them and when I tried to return it, they wanted to charge about £6 just for the return postage. On top of that, the name “Blue Badge Co” is quite misleading. It gives the impression that they are linked to the official Blue Badge scheme or a charity. I actually ordered from them because I thought I was supporting a Blue Badge charity. Realising it is just a normal company felt very deceptive. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.

Regarding returns, as a small independent business we’re unfortunately unable to offer free return postage in the same way that large platforms such as Amazon can. Our returns policy is clearly outlined before purchase, but we understand this can still feel disappointing and we appreciate the feedback.

We’d also like to clarify that Blue Badge Co is not affiliated with the official Blue Badge scheme or any charity, and we’re sorry if this was not clear enough at the time of ordering. Excellent! I ordered a holder for my blue badge. I’ve found it really difficult to find a vegan holder, as most are leather or plastic/PU coated leather. Here I found a blue badge holder made of recycled plastic bottles, which is ideal. But what was the quality like?
When it arrived I was pleased to see it had a label confirming that it was vegan and what it was made of. I was surprised and pleased to see that it was really well made, sturdy and pleasant to look at, and the colour was exactly as described.
In summary: even better than I’d hoped, and it does the job really well.

False advertising

Went to the company as they are only one of two genuine sellers of the Radar Key and they offered the option of quick delivery. I did not mind paying extra for this even though the charge felt inflated but I do mind that three days later the order has not arrived in time for a trip away with my disabled mother.
