I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Blueberry Life. After extensive searching for a suitable life insurance policy, especially given that I have a few different health conditions (I’m diabetic and have several substantial issues), I was contacted by Blueberry Life after a comparison site inquiry. The initial contact was promising—my agent, Erin, was young and helpful. After several conversations, we secured a policy by October last year. Naturally, the policy was expensive, but I accepted that given my circumstances.

However, less than a year later, I received an alarming email stating that my policy would be voided due to undisclosed health conditions. As someone who works in life insurance, I know the critical importance of full disclosure. I never left out any major conditions—so why would I? After investigating, it turns out the issue was that Blueberry Life, acting as a broker, passed my case to another company, and this other company claimed I failed to disclose my main health issues. I am certain that all major conditions were covered, so this feels like a deliberate attempt to win my business and then retroactively deny it.

I reached out to the director, Dr. Karan Mehta (known as Billy), who is one of the worst people I’ve ever dealt with, and the CEO, to no avail. They refuse to provide me with call recordings from when I set up the policy, which is deeply concerning. Despite paying into this policy for nearly a year, and going through rigorous checks and conversations, the company is now trying to void it based on their mismanagement. If you are a person who has certain health conditions or requires specialist cover, please, truly, do not use this company. After nearly a year of taking my hard-earned money, when I spoke to other life insurance companies about my conditions, they all said, quite frankly, that I should never have been given this cover in the first place. Someone at Blueberry Life was definitely up to no good, and it’s obviously on them. I am now taking this to the Financial Ombudsman, and I urge everyone reading this to stay away from Blueberry Life.

I had tried the big insurance companies who rejected my application without letting me know the reasons, while Blueberry were respectful & asked questions then asked questions to get the full story, hence I was accepted. Plus it was extremely easy to set up everything else.

Being type 2 diabetic I found it hard to find the right life insurance for me, when your mortgage finishes on a decreasing term you find your life without insurance, not ready to retire you find your left in limbo. Blueberry have been amazing and have walked me through their life cover, Erin the agent has been very helpful and guided me through their process from start to finish. Now I have piece of mind and can enjoy the next few years until retirement knowing that if anything did happen to me my family would be secure and taken care of. Big thank you to Erin
